WTF did he do to his foot that he will have to miss the rest of the year?

Down goes the TU Rocket Greco. Leaving the Cam shaft that makes this OL a PFF juggernaut. Surly, just maybe, we will activate our only other center "Jim Otto Award Winning" Gabe Ikard? Good Luck John!!

I think that explains some of his play - he surely has been playing with his foot injury for at least 2/3 games. He

hasn't been playing as well as earlier in the year.

BTW, read an article earlier, and there's something quite depressing but uplifting in a way:

After rushing for 163 yards, averaging nearly 6 yards per carry, in a Week 4 loss to the Redskins, the Browns ascended to No. 1 in the NFL in rushing offense.

Less than two months later, three of the five starting offensive linemen from that game are on the team’s injured reserve.

That's the three interior guys: Bitonio, Reiter and Greco. Which is another way to say "we have basically no chance in the run game with replacement level guys across the line"

Rather than Bailey, I'm wondering if Coleman starts at RT and Paz slides inside to RG.

It is Groundhog day again. It never fails. Every year, even years when we are better than this, it seems that one part of the team get decimated with injuries. Here, huge parts of the OL get IRed. Other years it has been QB (we just started much earlier at that position this year.) Some years the DL, or the defensive backfield.

The injury train never stops with this team.

I hadn't considered that given that Pasztor seems to have cemented himself at RT and won the competition'. Also bear in mind they're the same age, believe it or not.

Unfortunate for Coleman but good for the browns.

I'm hoping Cooper beats out Bailey to start at right guard to be honest. He was about the safest prospect in his draftnclass but it hasn't happened for him, mainly due to injuries.

I hear you, but look at the overall strength of the two line-ups. It's not a matter of Shon having to beat out Paz; it's a matter of Shon beating out Cooper with Paz taking the place of the loser.

  • Paz has road grader mentality for the inside and should flourish playing PassPro in the proverbial phone booth.
  • Shon had PassPro skills at Auburn and moved well enough to get angles in run blocking.

Really depends on if Shon has returned to form, but if he's close, then it seems like the more promising route to me vs. a prospect who has been cut loose by two teams in 4 years.

But I'm not too picky... I'll take either scenario...

Was listening to Bucky Brooks the other day & Bucky's theory was that due to the Auburn's Gus Malzon offensive structure. Every single Auburn OLmen really struggle with adapting to the NFL team systems? Your thoughts?

That's very interesting. Paztor has been disappointing at RT, Greco was getting run over....but probably was playing hurt...

Has Coleman been playing at all? beats me, but I wonder if he's improved his strength... he was labeled a

"boom or bust" by some "experts".. do you see him at OG? or....

from NFL. com:

". Shon Coleman, OT, Auburn: Coleman's battle to beat cancer is amazing, and I join everyone else in the football world in rooting for him to excel in the NFL. There are times where he destroys his competition, using his length and strength up top, and he shows very good agility to reach linebackers in space. However, facing veteran pro linemen will be a challenge for him due to a lack of strength in his lower body. His long legs might also cause issues, because although he plays with a wide base, that width can cause him to lose recovery speed and fall prey to better pass-rush moves."

That is probably accurate, but then again it's accurate about most college teams, at this point. Auburn runs a combination of the spread and the wing T. They run the ball most plays. He should at least be able to run block.

But remember I posted that they asked Myles Garrett who the hardest OT he's had to pass rush against was and he said Shon Coleman.

thanks, but watching Telfer for Barney & Durango for anybody tells the world we are going to run the ball. I have not seen Coleman in pass pro yet, just running plays splitting time with Durango (which may have more nasty than Shon). the fail maybe pass pro, due to a scoreboard that gets us to about 20rush to 35pass per game. Surely, Myles would say the very same thing about any T left on his schedule imho. Shocked not Tunsil @Miss
