I think he characterized it as a necessary evil, one which he would not apologize for. He's right, ur wrong...as usual. Imnot a big fan of his but on this one there is no debate. Nuclear detonations on a civilian population are evil. In tje case of ww2 a prolonged invasion of japan would have been equally as evil and no less destructive...perhaps more.
