Any Obama lovers here?

Obama is the worst president since Jimmy Carter. His reckless spending policies are the reason we are going on 20 trillion in debt with little to show for it. We have had the worst economic recovery coming out of a recession since the Great Depression. His weak foreign policy has been a huge failure with our friends in the world not trusting us nor our enemies fearing us. He has failed in almost everything he has touched. He had a huge opportunity to bring the country together in race relations but even in that area has been divisive and the country is more divided now than ever. Grade F

Cal posted this earlier, it seems appropriate? I don't think he realised it was a pro-obama thing, mind you

Yeah somebody re posts that every other day on Facebook. I'm just wondering which of these specific policies have made all these wonders come to pass?

Also hand-in-hand with wishing for another 4 years of Obama shouldn't we also wish for another 4 years of Republican rule in the Congress and Senate?

Specific Obama policies? None.

Obama took over at the end of one of the worst financial crisis' in US history - that's the biggest reason people say the economy has recovered so amazingly under Obama, it would have done it no matter who the president was.

Also deficit % of GDP was 3.1% when Obama took over, not 10% - it went up closer to 10% after the stimulus bills due to the recession. That said it goes both ways, because people on the other side talk about how much Obama has ballooned the debt compared to Bush...he has...but it's also higher than it would otherwise be due to the financial stimulus stuff.

Basically Obama hasn't really done anything much different than Bush IMO. If McCain won or something in 2008 then the numbers of everything would probably be the same (in terms of the economy)

Also the unemployment number is low, people who say they can't find a job and are happy collecting welfare or other government assistance aren't included.

And the vast majority of jobs that the democrats boast about being added by Obama are part-time crap minimum wage jobs - the middle class is still shrinking, wages are still going down (for the average folk)

Facebook is just a good place for occupy democrats to spread their propaganda, or as some would call it "fake news"

I would argue that the recovery was somewhat better under Obama than it might have been under McCain, but it's all subjective and they would have been similar. What it was, was better than any other developed nation, after the worst crisis since the great depression. Which is, you know, not bad.

His legacy will be Obamacare and gay marriage though. Besides obviously being the first non-white president.

While I'm not a "Obama Lover" I did vote for him twice because the Republican Party failed to produce an opponent that I thought would be better for this country. Much like the disappointment of this election only difference is the failure was on both sides of the spectrum.

Don't have much faith in either party these days because it seems to be one extreme or the other. Both parties are guilty of spreading propaganda and neither really seems to understand real work for a living or military service so quite frankly they're both laughable.

Both of which issues he ran against but yes he is not white.

Dont you love how trump talks about infrastructure and now its a viable consevative talking point....but when obama wanted to fix some bridges it was more socialist short term job creation.

Which of course it is. Not as bad as some because at least we will end up with better roads and bridges. Don't know if road crews are government workers butt it would probably help to add some 15 and $20 jobs to those crewss if there aren't already.

The GOP establishment and Democrat establishment really piss me off with some of this stuff.

Spend trillions on a failed war in a shit country, pay to rebuild that country, lose that country to extremists, repeat. That's A-OK. Want to rebuild our infrastructure at home? WHAT ARE WE SOCIALISTS! GOVERNMENT IS WAY TOO BIG!

Surprised it hasn't shown up here yet but it's come out in the last couple of days that the pentagon basically buried a report that showed how they could save $125bn over 5 years without cutting any military funding or capability, or firing people, just reducing bureaucracy.

I have no doubt of that and truly wish somebody would do something about it.

This is just another version of cal saying "but but but liberals said this"

I doubt you had too many people complaining about fixing infrastructure despite who was at the helm

So Marcus what is it within the power of the president you would like to see done for the military?

WSS

While people repeatedly criticize the President (whomever it is) about being weak on this or over aggressive on that you seem to present the point that their decisions are not impactful.

However before this turns into a rant or rambling I'll try to answer your question.

1. Put a cap on downsizing the military.

- Research what it would take at minimum

maintain national security vital missions

and keep strength at 50,000 troops above

that minimum. If downsizing becomes a

necessity.

2. Provide every veteran that has an honorable

discharge, and service in a forward area with

Affordable if not free healthcare. Physically

disabled (amputees and/or those confined to a

walker or wheelchair) vets get front loaded for

SSI,Unemployment, Welfare, and education

benefits if they so need those benefits. They're

entitled to the same payments as elderly

beneficiaries but significantly more than able-

bodied recipients.

3. Lastly do away with invading countries with no

exit strategy or plans and missions for the

sustaining forces. This prolongs wars and costs

lives, money, and time.

Just a few ideas. While the President shouldn't be able to do all of this alone he might with Executive Orders that people on both sides conveniently complain about when their party isn't represented in the White House.

No the workers would be private contractors but as long as the govt owns american roadways any wirk done on them is paid for by the govt so its still soviet era communism according to the stupid unwashed masses on the right
