ALERT: This U.S. State Is Now Letting Muslims Wear FULL Burqas for Driver License Photos…

A drivers license is one of the most important identification tools in the United States.

Anything of a sensitive nature that requires confirming our physical identity usually also involves checking our drivers license (except, of course, voting, for some insane reason).

But now, in the name of political correctness, one of our states wants to do away with this protection by allowing Muslim religious garments in drivers license photos. This can include headdresses or scarves — material that would conceal part of the head or face that would ordinarily not be allowed under law.

While most religious gear would still leave the ability to identify the subject at some level, the most concealing of Muslim religious garb for females — the “niqab”— leaves theentire head and face covered.

This is a truly insane surrender to Sharia Law.

As Conservative Tribune reported:

“While hats or head coverings are generally prohibited from being worn in photographs used on Illinois drivers licenses and identification cards, customers may be photographed while wearing established religious head coverings,” reads a flier distributed to state employees at the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles. “Photographs increase public safety.”

Illinois DMV Deputy Press Secretary Henry Haupt confirmed to reporters that this would include the burqa and veil, as well as other religious coverings worn by Muslims.

“What we’re doing was always allowed… but what we want to ensure is that the public’s aware of them because we were told that some individuals were unaware that they could have their photo taken for the drivers [sic] license wearing them [religious head coverings],” Haupt said.

“We’re always mindful of the fact that we want to communicate well with the public.” (H/T Mad World News)

They’re not so mindful, however, about the right of law enforcement and other agencies to know the identity of the person that they’re dealing with.

That’s one of the points of a drivers license, after all. It’s all about identification and safety. It has nothing to do with religious sensitivities, and the safety of Americans oughtn’t be compromised because of a silly experiment in political correctness.

Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you oppose Illinois’ decision to allow women to take their drivers license photo with a burqa on.

No, of course. You don't really see much of a person when a sheet is over their head. That's not to say the picture ID on a driver's license is a foolproof means of identification. But this doesn't help.

They just happen to be the wrong religion to ask for their own special rules.

Ok say they had to take the burqa off for the picture but when they're pulled over they're forced to take it off. The muslims are going to go nuts because the cop is face raping their wife anyway. The burqa is just a plain bad idea in America. There should be no privelage to wear it, ever.

So ban any clothing that can be used as a disguise?

Not what he's saying...no coffee yet today?

Cysko's not saying ban the burka (though I'm sure plenty are, including here). Rather, there should be no privilege to wear it anywhere - anywhere you can't wear a hat, you shouldn't be allowed religious exemptions. Anywhere you're not allowed to obscure your face - like on a driving licence - you shouldn't be allowed religious exemptions. Any time you need to be identified - like going through border security - you shouldn't be allowed religious exemptions.

As it happens, I agree in general.

No I definitely see it.

I was responding to Cals post where he says terrorist men use them as a disguise.

But yes, that drivers license does not provide much info on appearance. Not that it was foolproof to begin with though.

But hey, maybe removing this religious exemption will lead to removing more in the future.

That was a response in reply to Cal. That these are bad because terrorist men use them as disguises.

I've mentioned repeatedly in this thread I understand the issue with them in an ID photo.

Terrorist men can use anything as a disguise - but only a burka as a disguise to get through security. You can't wear a balaclava on your driving licence. But what's stopping you from creating a religion that insists all mean cover their faces with balaclavas? Or colanders? Well, nothing.

Didn't anyone notice that the picture in the article of the woman holding her license is Florida issued, and the other is N.J. issued.. even though the article talks about Illinois?

I discovered the Illinois thing is mostly false...the women are permitted to cover AROUND their faces only, ears, hair, neck... they still must expose their full face.

That doesn't explain the NJ and Fla licenses however, must be a photoshop job.

Lies, distortions, and half truths coming from the left is expected, so I don't get mad anymore. But when it comes from the right, I get pissed.
