Dste Ace Posted October 20, 2016 Report Share Posted October 20, 2016 A few thoughts: Can we all agree that Chris Wallace was far and away the best moderator of all three debates? Well done, sir. As with the previous debates, Trump (IMHO) did well in the first half-hour. Then, almost inevitably, he started to revert to "Little Trump". Not nearly as bad as the first debate, but you could see him start to grit his teeth, grabbing the microphone, etc. Still, overall, I thought Trump was having a respectable showing. Until---Chris Matthews asked the question "...will you honor the will of the people and respect the outcome of the election...?" Trump then went Full Brietbart and, to me, it was a damning moment for Trump. And Hillary really nailed his ass to the wall. Overall, definitely the most substantive debate of the campaign. Supreme court, the economy, foreign policy. They both managed to discuss the topics without completely going off the rails into insult trading. Conclusion---Trump didn't help himself in terms of changing the minds of people who are not the base. Again, I thought he did (for him) fairly well in staying on point for the early part of the debate. But his rant on "the election is rigged", and Hillary's rebuttal on that topic were what most people will take away from this night. Still the same Trump. I was disappointed, though, that in 3 debates, not one question about Benghazi, 4 dead Americans, and her lies about the video, and her DEMEANING the families of the 4. She's a despicable pig. All too often, her canned statements, trying to antagonize Trump, were her only explanation for her failed record, and tough questions. And her phoney evil clown smiling face was a bit sickening. She did it a lot. When she bragged on the clinton foundation, she completely avoided answering the question over her quid pro quo arms deals and meetings only after huge donations to the clinton foundation. I was happy the 2nd Amendment came up. And naturally, she lied. First, she refused to admit she called TFF her "gold standard"... and she lied about her support of the 2nd Amendment. I really don't think that any intelligent person in the U.S. thinks she supports the 2nd Amendment. She highly favors the gun confiscation in Australia. She shouldn't have been allowed to run, and Trump deserves a chance to change the corruption and malaise in our governement. Trouble is, if higgardly gets elected, all hell is going to break loose, and if Trump wins, anybody not a leftie might get a fire bomb into their place of business, or simply knockout punched and robbed. Trump IS right about higgardly - she and obamao will have been there eight years, and she and bill were in the WH eight years, and they accomplished nothing to help the inner citys, stop illegal immigrants, fix the debt, stop the runaway spending. I will say this, too - Pres Reagan and Pres JFK uplifted this country. Higgardly will be a disaster. Bobby Kennedy would have been a great pres, but Ted "leterdrown" Kennedy would have been the ruination of us all. Higgardly is right there will ted k. Trump was dumb to have come out with the "rigged election" thing before the third debate. Not wise. Not untrue, but it was fodder for feigned outrage by the dems. If the election is proven to be fraught with millions of phoney votes, why the hell should Trump "accept the outcome".. just to be a good loyal politician? If he had said "sure, I would accept it", I would have called him a liar or a fake. He nailed Clinton on a number of her scandals and left her cackling...finally a republican candidate and vice president as well who unashamedly take a pro life position. For years I have watched the establishment RINO's be very mealy mouth and act almost embarrassed whenever they had to publicly take a pro life position. He's like a 5th grader up there putting down HRC, It's a constant "I Know you are but what am I" 5th grade banter. His thoughts are scattered. He constantly repeats himself or the same banter all the time. He gives no real details about any of his plans. HRC on the other hand, despite being a sheep in wolf's clothing can at least speak better and hold her own. Trump just seem so ill prepared IMO, and doesn't hit her hard enough where it counts. I hate to say it, but I really think Trump will lose, and he only has himself to blame. He had a lot going on for himself in being the outsider, a guy who didn't need Washington, lobbyists, or other political agendas driving him. He should have come out at the onset and admitted to being a first class chauvinistic a-hole in the past. His wife should have come out and said that same thing and then vouched for him being a changed man ready for this role. But instead, Trump remained Trump. His anti-political correct candor is exactly what Washington needs, but he has no idea how to use his mouth in a way that both says what needs to be said but in a way that also doesn't offend the entire fricken globe.
