Zombo
Rubin will be gone next year (or sooner) so Williams is a good pick if you think he can play 3-4 DE ... he'd have to beef up, no? Zombo

Zombo Leonard Williams? Doesn't he play the 4 tech just fine right now?
Zombo
Leonard Williams? Doesn't he play the 4 tech just fine right now? He plays it very well, still needs to add 20 pounds to play it on Sundays, IMO. I don't think that would be a problem. Zombo

Zombo
He's 280-290 right now... You want him to put on 20lbs? Yes. Our starting DEs are currently 310 and 330. Not sure why you are struggling the concept of 300+ NFL 3-4 DEs. Z
tiamat63
Yes. Our starting DEs are currently 310 and 330. Not sure why you are struggling the concept of 300+ NFL 3-4 DEs. Z Mainly because there are few 300lb 3tech 34 ends in the league right now. Do some looking, 290 is about tops for many of them. Especially the good ones. Plus one of the biggest things that jumps off tape about Leonard is his explosiveness. Putting on weight to an already 290lb frame would severely limit that. edit: Went looking for myself. sub 300 JJ Watt. 289 Cameron Heyward 288 Justin Smith 285 Cameron Jordan 287 Donte Jones 285 Darnell Docket 290 Antonio Smith 289 Billy Winn 295 - obviously he was far more effective around his natural 280 Vinny Curry 279 Ray McDonald 290 Sheldon Richardson 290 300+ Stephen Bowen 310 : Mike Devito 305 Clifton Geathers 340 Desmond Bryant i Fletcher Cox 300lbs. John Hughes is 310 Akiem Hicks 310 Muhammed Wilkerson 315 So I see in group 1 a great set of versatile players against both the run and the pass, including the best defensive player in the NFL. In group 2 I see some good players. Mainly run stuffers in Hicks, Wilkerson, Hughes, Geathers and Devito. Exceptions being Cox and Bryant.
