THE BROWNS BOARD

Demographically Symbolic President

Sooo, does that just mean a "non white male" president? What exactly was meant by his "demographically symbolic" line? Is he still toting the line the Obama only won because he was black?

He's the first black, gay, muslim president, what do you think it means?

All we need now is a female prez and all the demographics that matter to libfucks are covered. This demonstrates we are "evolving" as a nation.

Obama got elected the first time because he was black, how else?... it wouldn't have mattered if the republican nominee was Jesus Christ himself.

Obama got re-elected because of low information and stupid people...and I'm including the stupid as all those conservatives that stayed at home rather than vote for Romney.

Omama's evil, so is Hilary, enough non-white-males, let's get a good ol' boy in power.

So libfuckish.

Only the part about Hillary and Obama can a claim for being evil be made. This NRA guy no doubt would endorse Hispanics like Cruz or Rubio....or a woman like Palin.

"Eight years of a demographically symbolic president is enough" - would seem to indicate he doesn't want another "deomgraphically symbolic" president, which would Cruz or Palin would be. What he's saying is 'let's get a white guy in to do the job'

Gee but you say it applies to Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin?

And yeah I'd say it's a stupid idea to vote based on race or gender. but them's the breaks as they say.

A semi conservative member of this board who is long gone suggested to me that we should at least be inspired that a black man was elected president, & I said bullshit. I may have been inspired if Condoleezza Rice had been elected but because I think she's brilliant. I don't think Sarah Palin is brilliant so I don't care that she's a woman. I don't think Joe Biden is brilliant and I don't care that he is a man.

Why do you people insist on this nonsense? A white guy could mean idiots like Howard Dean and Joe Biden. What he's saying is get a guy best qualified to do the job, rather than the liberal obsession with quotas. This guy, as would I, vote for blacks the likes of Alan Keys or Alan West over some fucking white guy democrat pig in a heartbeat.

Quotas? You think this is about quotas? Well let's take a look at the demographics of US presidents before Obama, shall we?

100% male

100% white

If this were about quotas, there would be a long way to go before it's fulfilled. This is about the best person for the job, regardless of race, gender or anything - a point most people will agree on. In NRA guy's view, it seems, the best person for the job is a white guy 'that gets real Americans' and loves his guns and bible and all the trimmings.

If you think Obama only won because he's black, and Hilary will only win because she's white, why not put forth an equivalent candidate? There seems to be a lot of republican support for Palin and Bachmann, for example, why not nominate one of them?

Oh please.

I can't imagine any Democrat with the exact same qualifications as President Obama even being considered for the party nomination. the closest the Republicans have, in a serious candidate, would be Marco Rubio who is already more qualified, if job experience counts, then the president. Plus Rubio has been on the public stage for much longer.

It certainly would be a refreshing change for the reps to put forward a minority candidate, and would break the narrative of reps being the party of rich white guys. At least to a degree, I don't know much about him, but Ted Cruz seems to fit the republican mould quite well, apart from the name.

Really? So the Democrats have put up one white candidate since the dawn of time and that's progressive to you? I would think it was more refreshing if a conservative woman or negro got the nod but of course they are persona non grata in the Democrat Party right? bring on Golda Meir.

Which is why it's a ridiculous argument to put forward that Obama only got the nomination because he's black.

Again do you think an unknown white candidate with no more qualifications then Obama would have been considered? And since you are unhappy apparently about the President of the United States being characterized that way it's a little bit odd that you would want the Republicans to behave that way and nominate someone on the basis of color or gender.

They certainly use the race card many times when you criticize Obama on his policies. It gets really old.

Jr became president didn't he? And he was one of the most inarticulate presidents in the history of our country. Didn't have fantastic grades either.

when the transcript were released the Democrats were embarrassed because George W Bush and John Kerry had almost identical grades. Your point?

I bet if truth were told he wouldn't even have gotten into Harvard had he been white.
