  1. As with all great teams, built on the DL - a DL where every single player made the Hall of Fame! Fun Fact: Richard Perry made the WWE (pro wrestling) hall of fame rather than the pro football hall of fame. The other 3 [Hampton, Dent, McMichael] are of course in the football HoF.
  2. Brett Kollmann's defensive late-round gem is Jowon Briggs. Sure, he's what they call a plugger, but if we're going to have one on the roster, might as well be this guy. I also enjoyed watching Harrison Bryant go to LV thinking he'd be #2... only to see LV take someone named Brock from Georgia in round 1.
  3. I don't think he's any better than the guys already in the room, but you draft one for the same reason OSU brought in Howard and Bama brought in Buchner last season to the qb rooms.. to ensure the group is giving 100.
  4. I think the NFL told teams to ensure Trotter and Thrash got drafted back-to-back. It's a c-o-n spiracy.
  5. Classic example: Lions earlier in the 4th traded into that spot from the 5th to take that Canadian 350# guy who nobody else had on their board. Could have just waited until the 5th and he would have fallen. Millen may not be totally gone from the organization yet......
  6. Sometimes I wonder what the GM's are using for their player lists. Lions just traded up in the 4th for a random S rated as a 6th rd prospect. With the very next pick, Chiefs stayed where they were and took a S who could have been drafted in rd2 with no question marks.
  7. Yes, they played every snap -- and not because the depth is poop. Deep dive at tOSU incoming.. for whatever old-head reason, OSU doesn't rotate. It's dumb for umpteen reasons... but they don't. Not at WR, not at DL, not at LB... you name the position. Starter WR legs are dead by Michigan because they're out there running go routes late against Akron, that's why S Lathan Ransom got injured last season because he was playing late in a game they already had comfortably won, etc etc. And if you think OSU DT depth last season was not there... that's a fried take, their DT room as a whole was at worst the equal of UM who had the #1 DT room in the country, and likely/arguably was better. Same is true in upcoming 2024 season and possibly better in 2024. And let's be clear: "Depth" doesn't magic a fr/so who isn't great into a starter. The point of playing the young'uns is to decrease their role on that play or package to put them in positions to succeed within the decreased role so they get comfortable with the game.. so responsibilities can be expanded. Some freshmen were great from the rip last season such as Jermaine Mathews and Malik Hartford. Tia, have you heard anything of the so-called "personality red flags" that are guessed to be why Hall fell?
  8. My guess is both of these picks were made with an eye on them starting on the 2025 lineup for cap reasons. Even if Teller is the "one" that goes, Bito isn't 25 any more either and will likely need his replacement shortly as well.
  9. If you want to shitpost about something, make another thread. A RUMOR DOES NOT CHANGE THE SALARY CAP
  10. The less anyone reacts to media talking about the salary cap, the better. If they're opening their mouth, they're full of shit. In short, Browns are absolutely not "3m under the cap".. I don't know why media does not open up OverTheCap or Spotrac for every article when this is mentioned..... but this guy obviously did not. Sure, the discussion of Ward's contract changes may very well be precise, but the asserted overall context is dog biscuits that animals would ignore.
  11. Denzel Ward's change which is linked elsewhere makes 2028 a void year at 2.9 and converted 14.2 to signing bonus. Ward's cap hit in 2024 is now 12.1, 0.1 less than his 2023. NFL Cap: 255.4 2/29 Browns : 287.7 Current Available 2024 Salary: [255.4 - 287.7] = -32.3 Because Browns current available cap is negative 32 million, look for every player you can name to go through this.
  12. NFL Salary Cap next year: 255.4 2024 Browns cap hits per player Current Browns total for 2024 as shown in that second link is 297.5 -- Dealing with this gap is where Berry makes his salary. What is actually going to happen? Even @tiamat63 would lose money making prop bets on Browns salary cap moves this offseason. I'm going to try to keep this thread updated with what gets us under the cap by the date with drafted rookies signed.. so the goal is about 242 for non-rookies.
  13. And the Browns care about the Browns. This is the same situation with workers and all businesses. They don't care about you - all interactions are always transactional. Take your enjoyment of watching Nick Chubb's ass to pornhub. Complaining about Watson isn't going to change anything. Future Browns salary cap moves will, however, change the players on the roster next season.

  15. Gambling websites explicitly attempt to make the user addicted. They hire psychologists to push all the buttons within the human psyche currently known. They have meetings where the phrase "And you can see exactly when the user becomes addicted" is discussed. Gambling addiction is not "an unfortunate coincidence" -- it's the single goal of the business. VPN's never "hide" you.. today's available technology sees through VPN's instantly. As an example, one of the first gambling sites, PokerStars, was only available for use within New Jersey. So anyone in the US could/would put money in, and then when they tried to cash out and claim to be Sitting In NJ, PS would deny them bc they could see the person is sitting in oklahoma. Good luck cashing out once you put it in. And yes, every podcast that mentions or streams gambling is being paid to lie to you. NFL partnering with these groups is, to put it incredibly charitably, a wild disservice.
