Pumpkin Eater
That would be good advice. I'm stuck though, I don't want to leave my family. Sometimes it seems worth it though. I actually want to be able to go outside in the summer. When the weather is finally bearable, daylight is shortened too much to do anything with the day. calfoxwc
Tyranny by leftwing extremists. In Florida. ***************************************** 8/24/2011 Jerry Buell, a highly respected Florida public school teacher, voiced his opposition to "same-s*x marriage" on his personal Facebook account. Now, the 22-year veteran teacher is fighting for his right to teach - and Liberty Counsel has come to his defense! Read the chilling details of this travesty below - Mat. When Jerry Buell, last year's "Teacher of the Year" at Mount Dora High School in Florida, saw that New York had legalized "same-sex marriage," he did what many people did. He expressed his disapproval on the Facebook social media network - on his personal time, his personal computer, and on his personal page. Buell commented that homosexuality is wrong and that seeing two "grooms" kissing on a news story revolted him. A former student from his school saw his post, took offense, and "reported" him to school system officials. Now, Jerry Buell is fighting for reinstatement! Citing an ethics code violation pending an investigation, the Lake County School District responded by taking away his teaching privileges and reassigning him to administrative duties. ++Liberty Counsel quickly moved to defend Jerry Buell's rights! Liberty Counsel is now representing Mr. Buell and demanding that he be immediately reinstated with an apology for violating his First Amendment rights. The school district's response to Buell's comments is unconstitutional, violating his right to free speech. Harry Mihet, Senior Litigation Counsel for Liberty Counsel, is spearheading Jerry Buell's defense. Here's what our organization said in a widely-distributed news release: "Public school teachers are not constitutional orphans. They, like all Americans, enjoy the freedom to engage in discourse about matters of public concern. Mr. Buell is being investigated and punished for communicating his mainstream objection to homosexual marriage, an objection shared by a large majority of his fellow Floridians who have outlawed homosexual marriage through a constitutional amendment. If the First Amendment does not protect Mr. Buell's right to voice his personal opinion, on his personal time, from his personal computer, on his personal Facebook page, then the First Amendment means nothing." Groups who are pushing "same-sex marriage" and "marriage equality" are claiming ANY speech that is contrary to their viewpoint is considered "hate speech" and should be censored. The Lake County School District School is out of line with their suspension and treatment of Mr. Buell. This persecution must stop! When I think of my Liberty Counsel team, I think of our constant call for all Americans to display moral courage in defending their God-given, blood-bought liberties. Jerry Buell has been a teacher for more than 22 years and served as the Social Studies Department Chair at Mount Dora High School. Buell has always been open to students, including those who identify themselves as being homosexual, about his conservative principles. But he has never forced his beliefs on anyone. His suspension is an attack on the character and integrity of a gifted educator and his First- Amendment rights as a United States Citizen! Please support Liberty Counsel's efforts to bring about a quick resolution through our defense of Jerry Buell! Jerry Buell is a gifted educator, a good citizen among many others who are being persecuted in the name of "political correctness" by a small number of pro-homosexual activists. This type of assault on First Amendment rights - and labeling pro-moral Americans' comments as "hate speech" - is becoming epidemic in America. Such vicious attacks are creating an unprecedented number of cases for Liberty Counsel as we defend persecuted educators and others free of charge. As I've said before, the reality is that we are facing powerful and dangerous adversaries on the battlefield for liberty.

DieHardBrownsFan
I looked into moving to both Jacksonville and Pensacola. Neither one will do though. Jacksonville is kind of ugly. The only thing going for it is the bases nearby which I could use my retirement benefits. Pensacola is ok, but real close to Alabama and REDNECK good ole boys. I talked to a few of my friends who retired there and they said besides the beach, there really isn't much to do. Maybe I'll move to Colorado Springs. Pumpkin Eater
Oh well, that is my opinion, and I'm entitled to it. Florida's lone saving grace is St. Augustine, but now there's too many homeless people there. Homelessness is a sad state of affairs. But it's a great city with great beaches nearby. calfoxwc
Florida isn't so bad. Disney, that was fun. I was on the company's tab, no less...@@ Pretty water at the beach. Little long nosed fish swimming.... sand so hot you can't walk barefoot..... the humidity is unbearable in the summer. When we went on the cruise, we flew to florida. Nice air conditioned jet. Nice air conditioned walkway to airport. Nice conditioned airport. Nice air conditioned shuttle bus to cruise ship terminal. Then, standing in line with luggage with a bunch of friends... we all decided that we walked into an oven set at 350 degrees for baking ribs. Oh yeah. Florida is a *&&^%$&%$^ hole alright.
