Cavs Sign Earl Clark!

Wow. Clark is scratching the surface of his talent, a 6'10" athlete learning to become a really good 3-point shooter. At 25, he fits in with the big picture.

At the 3, 4, and 5, we now have Varajeo, Thompson, Bennett, Zeller, Clark, Karasev, and Gee. That's 7 guys, probably one too many. Almost all have versatility (Thompson, Varaejeo, and Zeller can all play "center," whatever that means in today's league). Bennett, Clark, and especially Karasev can shoot the lights out.

Karasev can play some 2 as well. Aside from Kyrie and Waiters, not sure who else will be there. Cavs are hot for Darren Collison.

Just read that the Cavs view Clark as a SF because of his shooting and athleticism. Lakers were really pissed to lose him. With his length (6'10") and youth (25) he's somebody they really wanted to keep. Just couldn't afford him.

It's possible he could start with Varajeo and Bennett (or Thompson). I say Bennett because you have two guys who can defend and rebound but also put the ball in the hole.

Again, the lineup 3/4/5 possibilities just become endless. You can go small with Thompson, Clark, and Karasev, for instance. You'd have two guards who can really get to the rim (Irving, Waiters) and three guys you have to guard at the arc (Irving, Karasev, Clark).

We have a lot more money to spend... and it might be the right time to move Varajeo. Love to see one more 2/3 type, another 6'6" guy who can put it on the deck.

Come playoff time, it's not if you can score, it's how well you can stop the other team from scoring. Not up on how well these guys can defend.

It kind of defies logic and common sense to get "shooters" for this team coached by a defensive retread like Mike Brown..Really?..."Hilarious"

Clark can defend. It actually makes perfect sense to get guys who can shoot... because Brown can make them defenders. I wouldn't trust Brown to turn defenders into scorers, know what I mean?

But they got that Russian guy who's a shooting guru, worked with Clark in L.A., thinks he can be a perfect "stretch."
