THE BROWNS BOARD

These Dawgs are HUNGRY!

I don't think that I've ever seen a more deserving team in search of their first win in the 6th week of the season...

To a man they are steadfast and haven't given up hope for the season. When they do finally win, that may be the last of losing for a long and great while. I'm talking legendary winning after they get their first win. The world is still a fairytale waiting to happen. This team has been through so much, too much, that when they do break through that metaphoric wall, there will be no going back.

IF, and that's a big IF!- If they get this win against TEN look for Cleveland to really emerge from their very thick shell, and Cleveland will be the stronger for breaking through than quite possibly any team ever.

They COULD have been 5-0, had they stayed completely healthy from Pre-Season. And Yes, they could have beaten the Patriots if Coleman had 4 solid games under his belt, if Gordon returned with Brady, If Armonty Bryant wasn't a bonehead, if the other Bryant, Desmond hadn't went to IR, if Griffen and McCown weren't leaning lopsided on the sidelines, if the Kicker didn't fall into a manhole during a walk through practice a day before the game... They could have been undefeated right now.

They can still win out the division and finish 5-1 in the AFCN.

They can still win out the season 11-5.

They can still make the playoffs.

They haven't given up, I haven't given up, and don't you give up on them yet. Not yet. It's Gametime. This is where legends are made. Seize the moment, this moment, an 0-5 team on the verge of implosion and turn it into something poetic, something beautiful. Nothing is impossible, not even this. Lets get this win.

Somebody get Sigmund Freud's protégé to Josh Gordon's room STAT. Get Gordon put back together again, tape up Humpty Dumpty, rally the King's Men and lets go get this princess.

I think we need Corey Coleman, a healthy Quarterback, and defense. Why they have so many injuries is frustrating! I've read the rules that changed practice has contributed to injuries. Pete Carrol has been fined many times.

Do you think Horton will get this defense together at some point? I remember when Horton was pretty good when we had TJ Ward and a host of others no longer Browns. Maybe he needs time with all the injuries and rookies to build a cohesive unit. I'm holding out hope.

Each week it seems more injuries though.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all

Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall

Tell them a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small
When the men on the chess board
Get up and tell you where to go

And you just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen softy dead
And the white knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said

Feed your head
Feed your head

you remember incorrectly we had horrible defense in 2013 that gave up 5? 4th quarter leads

It seems to be hitting the league like lice in a kindergarten class -but- I haven't seen any statistics on it yet. I know the lengths the NFL is trying to go to protect their players or to be more honest product before losing any ratings and all the moms making their boys play soccer (oh no!).

And of course this is even more devistating for the youngest team in the league already and yes it will take time anyway to get a good cohesive team going. Even so this young rag tag multi-QB group has almost won three games as it is AND has a very favorable home schedule to finish the season.

Plus these league injuries are playing havoc with my two fantasy football league teams :(

Good rant... did forget the "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor" line though...

So to recap...

  • We could have been 5-0...
  • We are the most deserving team in history to win this Sunday...
  • Win this Sunday and we run the table...
  • But we are a "big IF" to win this Sunday... vs. the Titans... the 2-3 Titans...

That about it?

If a frog had a glass asshole, he'd only hop one time.

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

If...If...If...If...If...

Every team in the league could say exactly what you're saying. If these 15 things didn't happen to us, we'd be 5-0. Well, except the Vikings...shit keeps happening to them and they are 5-0.

And for fucks sake.....Josh Gordon? You're still humping this loser?? Next you're going to say drag up the corpse of Trent Richardson to run the ball as well. Let it go. The guy is done in the NFL.

Linus?

Linus, is that you sitting in that pumpkin patch again?

On offense we cannot stretch the field (take the top off the D)...

And on defense we cannot rush the passer...

Nope, there is no hope of winning 11 straight games Linus.

Your team isn't a 0-5 team.

That's as close as I'll come to ever complimenting the browns.

As you start to look through the schedule, it begins to get harder and harder to locate a win. Unless a team is totally miserable, random wins pop up all the time, so we're not going to be winless. Actually, one of the Bengal games is starting to look more and more winable, and the Ravens aren't exactly lighting up the league either. The Steelers...well...let's not go there, ok?

I don't like our odds this week. The tight end position is completely torching us this season (every season?), and the Titans have a very good one in Delanie Walker. Titans are also coming off a big win in which they appeared to play well. If we get our running game back in order, we may have a chance. Well, assuming Cody or Josh is healthy enough to make a go of it. I find myself wanting more Kessler, and drastically hoping that he can be the guy. I maintain that he's a career backup due to his alarming lack of physical prowess, but stranger things have happened. He's got a chance based on his first few games, and we REALLY need Coleman to come back, but that doesn't seem to be possible at this time. Hopefully next week. *sigh*

This injury thing that has happened this year is because we are trying too hard. We are trying so hard in fact that we are playing tense. We are NOT LOOSE and we aren't having any fun. We look scared to make a mistake which incidentally is exactly what leads to our mistakes.

However, this will accelerate our growth exponentially... eventually. Having the guys gaining experience and moving to different positions and so forth- will make us a much more versatile and more injury resistant in the future.

This is just a part of it. This is the beginning. Starting from scratch, letting the cream rise to the top. We just need to get loose, have fun, trust our preparation and win the damn game.

We must win the game. And then the fire will be lit.

Coleman, Gordon and Pryor out there at WR is still a very REAL possibility this season.

If Gordon is healed and his demons expelled, if he's reinstated by the NFL, we should be set at WR for many years. We have Higgins, Louis and Payton learning in the wings. Hawkins is the Veteran leadership while Gordon, Coleman and Pryor YAC it up.

Gordon is a luxury that we own the rights to. He is our secret weapon, he's our nuke. They don't want us to use him. He's suppressed right now, maybe it's depressed, idk but we need him back.

Coleman should be okay and in great running shape when he returns. Also, allowing Pryor to stay focused at WR will pay off once we solved this QB situation with Hogan and Kessler.

All Aboard; Good times ahead.

Dude, lol................. I know in your mind Gordon is riding on the back of Trent and they're both giggling widely as Trent gallops around the forest chasing Johnny, all while chocolate covered candy canes rain down from the sky........... but I think you should know a little secret.......

...... Josh Gordon will never step foot on the field again wearing a Browns uniform, unless of course he gets all high and jumps down from the stadium seats and runs onto the field during a game wearing nothing but his helmet........ Oh man, did I just put an unconscious thought into your conscious mind? Sweet dreams tonight PoG!!

That was just in jest DBone, you're an alright dude. ;)

Josh Gordon will be back. Trent did good for us his rookie year and got us another first round pick if I remember. Richardson was a good pick. Johnny Manziel was only on my good side because he was a Brown. He threw it all away, shamefully.

You kept telling us that Trent would be back too. How'd that work out?

Josh Gordon will NEVER play another down of football for the Cleveland Browns. Time to move on from him dude...let it go. Get yourself a Pryor picture to jack off to going forward because Josh will not play for this team. He's been given more chances that most deserve and only because he's stupid talented. Problem is...he's just stupid.

Po, others have said it first. You need to let Josh go. Even if in the unlikely event he gets reinstated, the Browns will trade him to the first taker for a six pack of Busch Lite.

I want to see Scooby Wright III out there on Sundays. He could be the difference maker that we need. Yeah, he's raw and I'm glad we still have him on the practice squad but I think that he's a gamechanger. He hits hard, causes fumbles and has tremendous instincts and a high motor.

It's not like having him out there has cost us any wins. What's the worst that could happen. Put him in and let him earn experience.
