Ok....NFL awards day was yesterday and not too many surprises....most I can agree with....

MVP........Cam Newton......well, why not....dont have anyone else I see as more deserving...

DPOY.....JJ Watt.............duh.....slam dunk in my book.....no other option....

OPOY.....Cam Newton.....see above....

ROY......Jameis Winston... this one is a little questionable to me...Peters & Gurley were better

DROY...Marcus Peters......well deserved.....he was the ROY, if yer askin me....

OROY...Todd Gurley........also well deserved.....

Comeback POY....Eric Berry....for sure.....

And a large HOF class this year, most of whom I can also agree with.....

Favre, Harrison, Greene and Pace were all on my slam dunk list......but I thought TO was deserving as a first ballot candidate....

Stabler & DeBartolo ....ok, I guess, cant really argue.....

Tony Dungy and Dick Stanfel....not so sure, but cant really comment on the Old Timer because I never saw him play.......

The biggest things that I took from this are that Cam has finally arrived.....Jameis has proven the doubters wrong.....Gurley recovered from that knee pretty well.....and Peters was as good as they thought(wish we could say the same for our guy Gilbert)....

Good stuff Mud. Thanks! I was busy watching the debate feeling like it was a terrific episode of Saturday Night Live.

Um, boo on DeBartolo HOF. His team won a few SBs big whoop. Who's next, Robert Kraft? Just my personal bias. Owners don't really belong- they should have an "Owner'"s section. I'll make a few exceptions- like George Halas and Curly Lambeau.

At least it's looking like Artie is never gonna get in.

I don't know Warner's stats so I'm not sure if he gets in. Favre deserves HOF on starts alone!

I was happy with the awards. Cam Newton is awesome! Is there anyone in this draft that could become close to Cam? If so then draft him.

Agree, the owners really have no business in the hall unless they did more than just bankroll the team (like George & Curley).

My biggest bitch with the HOF selection committee is that they are now up to 6 ESPN staffers.

That's too many members from one network.

Saw a "30 for 30" about DeBartolo and SF and what he did there was magical. All five SF SB victories came under him. Made him worthy in my eyes... one of the few modern-day owners of which I will say that.

I thought/hoped that between Policy and Clark we had stolen a bit of that magic in our relaunch.

That was NFL Networks A Football Life........I remember thinking when it first aired that it wasn't going to be all that good. Man oh man was I wrong. Magical is a excellent word to described it.

On the Pro Football Hall of Fame:

Favre is in because he was one of the greatest.....

Ken Stabler in in because his numbers (except in one category) are as good as a number who are already in

Orlando Pace is in because he is one of the greatest.

Marvin Harrison is in because it was his turn among the great WRs.

DeBartolo is in because he built a great dynasty. (they let Rooney in for the same reason)

Kevin Greene is in because his sacks and production numbers are impressive.

Dick Stanfel is in because he was snubbed many times in his first go round.

Tony Dungy is in because he is black, well liked and won a Super Bowl.

T.O is not in because nowadays WRs have a waiting period.....Chris Carter had to wait, Andre Reed had to wait, Tim Brown had to wait, Marvin Harrison had to wait. T.O. will wait, but he will make it.

Kurt Warner is not in because they couldn't take 3 QBs in a class. They needed to get Stabler in, and Favre was no Brainer first ballot HOF. Warner will get in.

Morten Andersen didn't get in because he is a kicker....and they just are not sure about him yet.

Alan Faneca didn't get in because they needed Pace to be the OL to get in, plus Stanfel was also an OL. He will get in.

Steve Atwater and John Lynch did not get in. They are both former Bronco DBs. They kind of divide the vote...and neither are such a slam dunk.

Edgerrin James and Terrell Davis are not in because as RBs they were both very good....but not Barry Sanders/LaDanian Tomlinson great. Both will have trouble making it next year as I believe that is when Tomlinson will be eligible.

Joe Jacoby is not in because, again, I think the voters felt they had their quota of OL with Pace/Stanfel

Don Coryell is not in because they felt they needed to induct the minority coach.

Plus....he never did make it to a Super Bowl. That is a strike against him.

Cam Tarkenton - Run, run, lose. Repeat.

Rodger "the Dodger" Staubach (had his best rushing year the year they won their first SB)

Steve Young (2nd leading QB rusher of all time ... much more than Tark)

Russell Wilson (1,388 rushing yards in his two SB season 46-18 with a ring)

Zombo

I'm so glad we don't have a run first MVP QB that gets us to the superbowl. Soooo much happier with Josh McCown and Austin Davis...
