# 5. Im gonna go with the Packers, Starr, Favre and Rogers ??? or a long shot Browns -- Otto, Kosar, Holcome ????? think holcome did it in a playoff game :)

Don't think either is correct (Bernie came close, but no Brown QB has gone over 500 and I doubt Starr ever did), but the approach is good... teams with a trio of very good to great QBs in their history. I don't think there are that many.

Then again some schlump just may have had a good day...

1. Besides George Blanda, Warren Moon and Vinny T. which other QB played until he was 44 years old?

Flutie played into his 40's... Did he make it to 44?

5. 15 QBs have thrown for 500 yards in a game. The most of those by one team was 3. Name that team and the 3 QBs.

Chargers: Hadl, Fouts, Rivers

9. Which Pro Football team had the longest unbeaten streak in history and how many games?

I still think it's the Pats and 20-something...

10. Name the "All Decade QBs" from these decades:

1950s (1 QB besides Otto Graham and Bobby Layne) Norm van Brocklin?

1980s (2 QBs): Moon?

Nope, not the Packers.. And the Browns never have had a 500 yard passing game. Team record is 489 yards by Kosar in that Jets double OT playoff game.

Here is some trivia for your mid July football fix....with the knowledge that camp opens in like 10 days:

Friday afternoon, time for answers:

1. Not including George Blanda who played some until age 48, which 3 other QBs played to the old age of 44?

The trio are Vinny Testaverde, Warren Moon, and Steve DeBerg.

2. Seven RBs have gained over 2000 yards in a season. Name them.

OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis, Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Jamal Lewis

3. These for the seasons opening game:

A. Who rushed for the most yards in a game in an "Opening Game"?

OJ Simpson rushed for 250 yards on opening game on Sept. 16, 1973 vs. the Patriots.

B. Who passed for the most yards in an "Opening Game"?

Norm Van Brocklin passed for 554 yards for the Rams vs the NY Yanks on 9/28/1951. These are the most yards passed for in any game in NFL history....opening day or otherwise!

4. What does this list represent: Jim Benton, Cloyce Box, Stephone Paige, Willie Anderson, Calvin Johnson?

These are the only 5 people who have ever had 300 or more yards receiving in a game.

5. Only 15 QBs have ever thrown for 500 yards in a game. One team leads in this category with having 3 of those 500 yard game passers. Name that team and the three QBs who played for it.

The New York Giants. The 3 QBs are YA Tittle, Phil Simms, and Eli Manning

6. What event occurred only 2 days after the Cleveland Browns received its charter as a pro football franchise?

The Browns AAFC charter was issued on June 4, 1944. Two days before D-Day

7. There was an "American Football League" that played in 1936-1937. One franchise remains active today from that league. What is that franchise?

The Cleveland/LA/St. Louis Rams started in that AFL, but then were accepted into the NFL beginning in the 1938 season.

8. There was another "American Football League" that played from 1940-1941. While no franchise remains active from that league, one team name (city and nickname) does survive today from it. Name that team name.

That league did have a team called The Cincinnati Bengals.

9. Which Pro Football team had the longest undefeated streak in history, and how many games?

That would be your Cleveland Browns who had an undefeated streak of 29 games from 10/12/47 when they lost to the LA Dons 13-10 and never suffered another lost for almost 2 years when they finally lost to the SF 49ers 56-28 on 10/9/1949. They did have 2 ties during that streak.

Note, the longest NFL unbeaten streak is the Canton Bulldogs, 25 games in the 1920s. They also had two ties.

And that longest winning streak is the Patriots 21 game winning streak. But note on that: During their streak they play 2 OT games...and to their credit they won both. But had the rules been the same as in the 20s or 40s, they too would have had a couple of tie games....thus their win streak would not have been 21.

10. The NFL has produced an "All Decade Team" from the 1920s to the 2000s, and on those teams they named at least 2 QBs of the decade,(and sometimes 3). Name the All Decade QBs for each decade:

1920s (2 QBs): Jimmy Conzelman and Paddy Driscoll

1930s (3 QBs): Earl (Dutch) Clark, Arnie Herber, Cecil Isbel (yes folks these were the Tom Bradys and Peyton Mannings of their day, one day people will think of Brady and Manning the way you think of Herber/Isbel, Driscoll etc.)

1940s (3 QBs): Sammy Baugh, Sid Luckman, Bob Waterfield

1950s (3 QBs): Otto Graham, Bobby Layne, Norm Van Brocklin

1960s (3 QBs): John Unitas, Bart Starr, Sonny Jurgenson

1970s (3 QBs): Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Ken Stabler (Stabler: All Decade, but can't make HOF?)

1980s (2 QBs): Joe Montana and Dan Fouts (no one got these....someone put Montana in the 70s, but he was only drafted in 1979....I mean, hell, is he and Fouts already getting the Driscoll/Herber/Clark/Conzelman treatment?)

1990s (2 QBs): John Elway and Brett Favre

2000s (2 QBs): Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

And The Who's cover of Summertime Blues on Live at Leeds was something like the 4th cover released. It was preceded, among others, by the forgettable (in hindsight) hit version by Blue Cheer.
