Zombo
Apparently he is on the bubble according to Twatter. Needs to show up tonight. Pettine don't fuck around. Zombo --Google for the link, I'm not good at that on my phone
Tour2ma
NBC link?Is Dwayne Bowe on the Browns’ roster bubble?http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/03/is-dwayne-bowe-on-the-browns-roster-bubble/Solomon Wilcots, who works for NFL Network but is paid by the Browns to call preseason games on Cleveland television, appeared on the team’s official pregame radio show Thursday afternoon and hinted that Bowe is not a lock to make the roster.“He needs to deliver (tonight),” Wilcots said. “After talking to the coaches he needs to show up tonight to be a part of the 53-man roster (this weekend).”Wilcots didn’t say which coaches to whom he’d spoken, but his words at very least make for an interesting discussion. The Browns also have a decision coming on Terrelle Pryor, who’s trying to transition from quarterback to wide receiver but has yet to play in a preseason game.Pryor is supposed to play in the preseason finale, but Browns coach Mike Pettine said this week that Pryor doesn’t necessarily have to play to make the 53-man roster.Brian Hartline, another veteran receiver acquired in the offseason, is going to make the team. Andrew Hawkins and return specialist Travis Benjamin are going to make the team, too. Second-year receiver Taylor Gabriel and Bowe probably make the team, but fourth-round rookie Vince Mayle has had a tough camp.

D Bone
Wow, I posted this elsewhere a few minutes before this thread opened............. I heard Bowe is playing tonight....... Anyone else think this it's odd for a multi year vet to play in game 4?
Tour2ma
AS I read the NBC article I thought exactly that, D... How weird to see a #1 WR in pre-season game 4 at all...
D Bone
AS I read the NBC article I thought exactly that, D... How weird to see a #1 WR in pre-season game 4 at all... No kidding! I wasn't 100% sure of the source, so I was a little leery to post anything about it until I knew for sure. Something's up I'm afraid.
Zombo
Ya, I saw that Bone after I posted, good call. Fucker hasnt caught a pass yet and we already know PetFarm doesn't care if shit is guaranteed. Z

Fucker hasnt caught a pass yet and we already now PetFarm doesn't care if shit is guaranteed. Z They walk the walk for sure on the whole 'the best make the team - regardless' thing...... I love it. Going to be fun to see what Pryor can do tonight. A big catch here or there may be the difference of which one stays or goes.

D Bone
Bowe is expendable now that we have Pryor. I agree. They both seem like "the same type" of WR, and maybe the staff saw enough from Pryor already where all he has to do now is just-not-suck?
Tim Couch Pulls Out
I agree. They both seem like "the same type" of WR, and maybe the staff saw enough from Pryor already where all he has to do now is just-not-suck? Exactly. And he's cheaper. And younger. And more potential. If he ends up sucking, he's no worse than Blowe.
Unsympathetic
Bowe hasn't been a #1 for years - no more burst means he's average at best. He's essentially David Boston at this point - without Boston's hands. Even during his probowl year, he had lots of drops.
wargograw
Well this is certainly a change of tone. I thought Bowe's veteran presence would be an asset. As did most of this board until today.
jcam222
Picking up Bowe was a poor Ray Farmer decision from day one. If Pryor catches a couple nice routes in the 2nd half Bowes toast.

Browns149
If the Browns expect Bowe to be the #1 WR, they are in trouble. Farmer should be fired for that alone, not to mention Gilbert and Johnny

I don't like seeing bad moves either, but I REALLY don't want a new GM takin a few years to get HIS guys in. Farmer and Pettine are going into year 2 after adding 3 wins to the record in year one. Can we see what unfolds before we start asking for a regime change?
calfoxwc
Has nothing to do with the FO now. It's putting the team together, and this last draft was freaking brilliant. And the players are all in with these coaches.

At the rate we been going since we came back to the league, l just wanna see the same decision makers get a 4 or 5 year shot, no matter the outcome. Hell, l was fed up with it when Romeo oh Romeo was the coach, and they had a crappy year. I didn't care and wanted him to take another stab at it, and waddya know, they had a pretty good year after that. And then another shitty one after that, but at least we got one non miserable season out of it.

I'm not worried about farmer or pett getting fired, but it boggles the mind seeing Browns fans talk about ANOTHER goddamn regime change after the new guys improved the win total by 3 games. How can any Browns fan enjoy yet another needless rebuild, it's old hat. I swear some people will never be happy. Even if farmer hand fed them a burrito and gave them a blowjob while they were watching a storage wars marathon, they'd get up, yell "you forgot the picante sauce, you're fired" and walk out in a huff. dawg2fan
Disagree. I am buddies with Andy Moeller's cousin and talked with them a few weeks back for a couple of hours. I let him know his job was safe with me, but after last night, I am wondering......... Not so sure i understand why. You do realize that we played our 3rd stringers (on O an D) in the game last night, right. Not only that, the Offensive line sucked. Our 1st and 2nd stringer will be much better. If it were regular season game, we would have killed Chicago. When the regular season starts, you'll see that most offenses will struggle with our D.
