In anticipation of the same "won't help" rhetoric in resistance to even the most basic measures to prevent recurrence, universal background checks... ... the President of the United States had the audacity to point out that other countries with the will to end their cycles of mass shootings have in fact done so. President Obama's point was "we have grown numb" to these events and that our repeated lack of action, any action, was proof of that. As for the linked article... other than the fact that Australia did not "confiscate" guns it'd be fine... excepting that confiscation is the foundation of the article.
