There was a secular society where christians and others had lived together for centuries. Kurds were protected by a no fly zone. Westerners were common sights and relatively safe moving around Iraq under Hussien. After the intervention all of this disappeared.

no way dude, Cal said it was a hell hole.

The Husseins were evil but we didn't care and were downright chummy with them until Saddam invaded Kuwait. They were awful but we have ISIS because Saddam isn't there. He was the evil tyrant that kept a lid on the separate factions.

I didn't know about it til later. You?

the collective "we" isn't valid in this case.

Yes, we allowed saddam and sons leeway, and

worked with them to balance out the middle east.

But, there came a time when he had to go. There was

no choice. Leaving him in power was no option, just like

letting the nazis keep rampaging over Europe was no option.

And isil started in Jordan, and Afghanistan - in 1999.

Wanna know who the president was while this was starting ?

Clinton. Not higgardly - the other liberal coward.

I was there for Desert Shield/Desert Storm. We fought for the rich fucks in Kuwait and the other rich fucks who were afraid of Iraq at the time. At least that is the feeling I had and others that were there with me. Not like Kuwait was a bastion of freedom or anything.

said absolutely no one you straw man machine. Nobody said the Husseins were wonderful. Nobody. But it wasn't our business to remove him, especially under lies and false pretenses. We slapped him out of there cause it was an old score, and Kellog-Brown had some business interests there. We had no real fucking clue how to manage the aftermath and that's frankly unforgiveable. We are the reason Isis is in power, and whovever comes after them.
