The Roast of Ann Coulter.... and also Rob Lowe

Comedy Central's Roast of Rob Lowe. Ann Coulter was there. She apparently didn't know what a roast was. Got absolutely... roasted.

Not a fan of the Comedy Central roasts. To me, a roast is when friends and colleagues of the roastee go up

and roast the 'victim'. The old Dean Martin roasts were a great example of this. Also, check out the Richard Pryor

roast on youtube from 1977.

Comedy Central often gets 'names' who, in many cases, don't even know the person they're supposed to be roasting. Meh.

Just another opinion...

I agree on that principle. Roasts should be at least somewhat personal.

Still, Jimmy Carr was savage.

I tend to agree, Ace, but I don't mind the vulgarity. And these things really are foul. Still I guess it's better the politically correct bullshit you see those places. And if you get called to be a roastee you better be prepared for some Savage shit. I think old Ann had some stones for saying yes.

But you are correct the idea of your friends and family teasing you is gone with the buggy-whip as far as roasting goes.

Which politicians do you think would be up for that, and which would you want to? I can imagine Obama falling under both categories, but there's no way Hillary lets herself in for it, or Trump. I think Jeb would volunteer but nobody really cares so it would be rubbish.

Good question Chris. I think anybody actively involved in the campaign might steer clear. And Bill Clinton seems like a good sport but probably wouldn't take the risk at this particular point. But I'm pretty sure they would pull their punches if it were Obama.

There's a better chance that Donald Trump would accept but still way below 50/50 Imo.

The Donald already got roasted. He took it like a man.

This for sure. She knew going in there that everyone would be dying to bag on her and would bring their best material for it.

Only could tolerate watching the first hour. All of the best material must have been in the 2nd hour.

Donald Trump, you are a new york landmark...meaning it won't be long before you bulldoze yourself and build a gawdy tower and put your name on it.

Donald says he wants to run for president and move on in to the white house. Why not, it wouldn't be the first time he pushed a black family out of their home.

When Trump bangs a supermodel he closes his eyes and thinks he's jerking off.

I could see Obama doing it and doing pretty well.

Hillary doesn't have the charisma and nobody would insult her because they don't want to commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head twice.

Ah, the vulgarity doesn't bother me. Neither does the "mean-spiritedness", when it's coming from friends and colleagues.

Again, I bring up the Richard Pryor roast from 1977. Everyone on the dais is a close friend or someone who had worked

with Pryor and shared a mutual respect. It is absolutely savage. Nothing--Pryor's drug abuse, his marital issues--nothing was

off limits and it was funny as hell. Pryor took it and then got up and gave it back in spades. Classic.

The key is they really were friends but in this case I think they hated Coulter plain and simple. Nothing friendly about it.

Ain't nobody out there as hateful as the left. Book it.

For all her infamy you can't find a single Ann Coulter quote that comes close to any of the things said about her.
