Well said. If we're ever gonna waste another draft pick on a kicker - I'd rather have it done here (especially of we have more than one 7th round pick). The 3 we drafted never survived their 1st contract in Cleveland. Having said that, the Browns brought the last one back just in case we lose our starting kicker to a severe hamstring pull again. A couple years ago, I was flipping back and forth between the 2 networks covering the draft in the final hour. One of the networks was saying when you get to the 7th round - it's almost better for the player if they end up being an undrafted free agent. This way the player has a chance to pick a best fit situation his skillsets among teams interested. Makes sense. On the other hand, many kids dream about getting drafted. How about a Brock Purdy being the last pick of the draft 2 years ago?

I'll buy them another round of depressants while I'm celebrating another Big 10 Championship for Ohio State.

Right now LT is a glaring weakness on the blindside of QB the Browns have invested a lot of money in. LTs go fast in the draft so it might be very well worth the reach.

Understood. I need my day job so I don't buy the magazine/guide to try to be like Mel Kiper Jr; and I hope no one else does either. It's more of a last minute Cliffs Notes summary of research and rankings of guys at all positions - many that weren't televised in the region I live in very often. For example, a guy like BYU WR Puka Nacua last year or Brock Purdy (Mr Irrelevant) in 2022. Most of the guys we've heard/seen a lot about are often drafted within the 1st 2-3 rounds of a 7 round draft. On the 3rd day of the draft when it starts moving faster - names of selections appear and sometimes you don't even see their quick highlights until 10-15 minutes later. That's when I'm really happy to have the resource to look up the guy the Browns picked. As for the price, they stamp those prices right on the bar card on the bottom left corner of the magazine cover. And if they're going to over-charge a consumer - you're the guy I'd hand select to argue that all the way down to a discount Ballpeen. Lindy's Sports Pro Football Mag was only $10.99 so I drank less beer that weekend. Unfortunately, that still didn't help me find the 6 pack in my mid-section. Should I put that on a milk carton? I remember Mudfly stopped in right after the trade to remind us that outside of Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward, this franchise has been best known for messing up 1st round picks. It was 10 years between selecting Joe Thomas and Myles Garrett/David Njoku (who took a while to meet expectations). When Watson plays like the National Champion QB who buried Ohio State and Alabama (loaded w/ 1st and 2nd round prospects on their defenses); and the Pro Bowl QB he was in Houston for 2 years - very few will worry about what the Browns gave up.

Anyway, college football pits the local Ohio Team vrs a hated Rival Michigan team. Right now, Michigan and it's HC needed to be disciplined for stealing signs in the most recent football season. Of course I'm going to have fun with that busting your chops. If Ohio State having the majority of wins in the rivalry this side of the year 2000 and the majority of fans makes you nervous - maybe you should seek out a message board that gives you the common bond you need? Bring the rules back to what they were in the 70s and 80s The rule changes to promote more scoring for higher TV ratings has put more players in space. We never saw this excessive volume of injuries in the 70s and early 80s. There was far more scrimmage action resembling the closer proximities of opposing players PRE-collision like rugby. Also, in rugby - there's no helmets so guess what isn't ever used as a weapon? The crown of the helmet. Consequently, there's far less incidence and prevalence of concussions. Rugby is a violent sport; but it's set up to limit things that the NFL is having trouble restricting. When Rodger doesn't want to see his officiating crews calling a lot of holding penalties, passers get longer time to throw perpetuating how attractive it is to get Receivers in space. What happens in space? Run-up collisions where the physics don't favor player safety. As the 40 times get faster everywhere - the run-up collisions get more violent from the physics of it all. And what happens when a guy like Gronk or Kelsey has/had the speed of a WR? I loved football in the 70s and 80s. We weren't losing about 4-5 starters seemingly every week like we have in recent years. If you played fantasy football in the last few years or so - you'd see that wasn't exclusive to the Browns. Backs like Leroy Kelly, Greg Pruitt, Mike Pruitt, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, etc were really fun to watch. A few decades later we'd see James Harrison queuing up Josh Cribbs or MoMass looking in a pass over the middle greeted with the crown of his helmet. And that guy had the neck circumference of an oak tree.
