The only question is: "How close to Shelton is Malcom Brown as a run stuffer?"

If he's reasonably close, then save your trade up ammo and take Brown at 12 if need be.

If he's not close, then call folks and see what the price of certainty is.

Good news for our Shelton hopes at #12...

Play The Draft® Market Analysis For Monday, March 9, 2015:

As of today, there are 11 prospects with an FRX* under 10.0 in Play The Draft®. It’s been the same 11 names Mock Drafters have been shuffling around their top-10 for weeks. I think two of those highly-projected prospects are about to tumble out of the national top-10, and then maybe fall out of the top-15 as well…creating hundreds of thousands of dollars in PTD-losses for portfolios in the month of March.

At the same time, there are two prospects names who appear to be making a push as their replacements…which could garner hundreds of thousands of dollars in PTD-gains for portfolios.

Who are these names?

#1 Most Likely To Fall From ‘The Under FRX 10.0’ Ranks…

Washington DT Danny Shelton (6.8 FRX, $2.9M current PTD-value, 11.4% owned)

This has been a long time coming, in my book, and this is going to be a painful experience for Shelton-holders in Play The Draft®. Pre-NFL Combine, there was a federal Mock Draft law that you had to have Danny Shelton at #7 to the Bears. The week after the NFL Combine…the mandate was still in effect. However, Mock Draft anarchy with Shelton has begun this past week.

Shelton is no longer the automatic #7…in fact, he’s not even showing in the top-10 for many. You’re starting to see a lot of #12 projections, along with some #19s. If Shelton falls from his current 6.8 FRX to somewhere around a 15.0 FRX level…it’s going to be a seven-figure portfolio spanking ahead for the 11.4% of you that own him.

For a moment, it seemed like Florida State DT Eddie Goldman (31.1 FRX, $1.4M current PTD-value, 9.0% owned) was making a move toward the top-20, with a few surprise top-10 Mock Draft projections post-NFL Combine, but that car appears to have run out of gas the past few days.

The DT that could switch spots with Danny Shelton is more likely Texas DT Malcom Brown (17.6 FRX, $1.7M current PTD-value, 11.7% owned), who is more and more popping up among the top-12 in recent Mock Drafts. Brown is rising on draft boards, but he would need an extra push to get into the FRX 10.0 group. If he can pull it off over the next few weeks—there are $500K+ PTD-gains to be realized.

*Note: The acronym ‘FRX’ refers to Play The Drafts’ proprietary ranking system which takes draft order predictions and private scouting input to develop a moving average on prospect sentiment every day. This FRX Index drives the prospect’s draft stock value within the Play The Draft® contest.
