tiamat63
I saw Nate orchard play in person last fall in Corvallis. he was unstoppable. i can still hear the announcer calling his name over and over and over. Like I said. When all is said and done, I feel he will develop into the most complete OLB in this draft.
Tour2ma
More and more lately I end up in no-man's land at #12 and 19. Especially I the Fan Speak sim where I'm either taking a really good player at a position of low need or reaching... Tour - have you ever subscribed to fanspeak premium for the $5.95 price? Looks like you get a lot of extra information in April just before the draft. Opinion? Have never looked into this... but by April I'm just ready to watch the real thing and say, "WTF". MLD Woody
I'm not 100% convinced this is particularly accurate in anything: 1a: Marcus Mariota, QB 1b: Kevin White, WR 2: Cameron Erving, T 3: Devin Funchess, TE/WR 4a: Henry Anderson, DE 4b: Devin Smith, WR A bit receiver-heavy, but with the players where they were, it represented great value. That would be amazing, lol.

TexasAg1969
They screwed you on Marpet at #23 in the 3rd round Tour-that should have been a B+ at a very minimum. Otherwise great draft. Tour2ma
TY... 6th and 7th are kicker/ punter territory... at least this year. I knew I was reaching for Ali and Bryce and would get slammed, but when you want a player and have that many picks...WTH. Besides I never have figured out how to score near 7k in that sim, so I stopped trying. What bothers me about it and the other sims now, is that our 19th pick is ending up in a desert. I managed one trade down, to 20, but then had no offers. So I was essentially forced to take Clemmings. Not a bad thing, but I'd have preferred an OLB. They were all gone. Im bet 6100-6500 everytime......never close to 7K.... my best have come by trading back from 12 to 13 to 14 etc......usually end up with something like the 20 & 21 picks, plus about 6 2nd rounders and extra 3rds.....ha! tiamat63
I shot for something approaching realistic if Shelton is gone. White and Cooper were gone as well. So this is my defense heavy draft to make up for that loss and subsequent trade downs. The Saints desperately needed an OT, offered me their 2nd rounder to move up one spot. Yes, please. tiamat63
Re: The Marcus Golden pick. If the Browns didn't have so many needs, I'd take him that high. More specifically needs that could be filled in that round by a player able to step up and provide immediate quality depth, such as along the Oline. Marcus has the potential, but for this team and this defense, he would be a several year project. His first step is slightly about average, he has decent hand use and fights through contact when attacking the inside. He doesn't have that elite burst, appears limited in space and as far as I can tell, as never been asked to play from a 2 point stance. His secondary pass rush move is non existent and he would most likely not provide any contribution his first year. Even then, there are players with a better athletic makeup and a higher ceiling that can be had later in the draft whom would pay off just as much if not more with the same patience. I think our D-line will return healthy AND with a full year in this new system and they will be much better than what we saw. Just one year ago, the consensus(by almost everyone) was our line was deep and talented.....I think it still is....add a top pick and were in great shape... Which brings me to LB's, who I believe are fairly decent right now and will also be much improved with a healthy line infront of them...add another up and comer like Kirksey and hope Mingo steps up(I think he will) and...bam.... Which brings me to DB's....which we know are solid as they come.....we'll add some depth, Im sure..... But, I dont see any positions as life or death......and dont think it's nearly as dire as so many act like it is.....

However you always have to account for injuries, especially when you're the Cleveland Browns. The only real areas I see of immediate attention are NT/DT/however you'd like to label our 0/1 tech player, WR and perhaps TE. Two of those 3 can be filled nicely in the mid to later rounds. Depth on the Oline, OLB and DB can be addressed in harmony with those picks. This is a fantastic draft that matches up well with the Browns relation to needs and BPA. The sky certainly isn't falling. A quality draft and health withstanding, this team could very well take that next step forward.

Tour2ma
We seem to be developing a fair amount of group think this year. It's both new and kinda scary. Re: The Marcus Golden pick. At the start of the sim it offered Golden as a DE, then a DE/ OLB (I like added the multiple positions wrinkle) and now the choices are OLB/ ILB. Have to say I did not see him as an ILB and the once or twice I've picked him to play ILB the grade has not been kind despite the position still being one of need. Speaking of ILBs... the late round prospect I've really warmed to is KU's Ben Heeney.

He doesn't have the ability that Shane Rey does, nor the athletic fluid movement in space. I see Golden the same way I viewed Sheard when we took him. A slightly above average LDE that will hold the point against the run and net you half dozen sacks a year or so. Benn Heeney? I've seen the named tossed around, can't say I've watched him. I got to see a glimpse of Perrimen when Mizzou played UCF. I was planning on watching more of him today.

I also believe Gresham is an upgrade over Cameron. Would have signed Julius Thomas if available. Cap Space Remaining: 51,744,743 - Franchise tag cap hit of Tashaun Gibson, still a pretty hefty stash of cash My 2015 Draft - note that if trades had been allowed I would have taken a 3 for Manziel , I will also add that if that was the case I may have taken OT in the 3rd as I really debated on Collins at 19. 12: R1P12 WR KEVIN WHITE WVU 19: R1P19 OT LA'EL COLLINS LSU 43: R2P11 QB BRETT HUNDLEY UCLA 77: R3P13 C REESE DISMUKES AUBURN 108: R4P12 G JOSUE MATIAS FLORIDA STATE 112: R4P16 DE HENRY ANDERSON STANFORD 139: R5P11 TE JESSE JAMES PENN STATE 173: R6P13 FB JALSTON FOWLER ALABAMA 186: R6P26 CB IMOAN CLAIBORNE NORTHWESTERN STATE 204: R7P12 K JUSTIN MANTON LOUISIANA-MONROE Yep, I believe its a deep playoff team I must be confused, the Browns have 50 million cap now, and you sign all those guys, but still have 51 million left?
