Still believe with Mack back only need plug in on line or upgrade Schwartz. Alternate DT and OLB(Mingo) at Pick 12 And 19 (biggest need) At 12 looks like Shelton and B. McKinney gone but OLB Fowler and DT Goldman both there (Fowler higher rate). At 19 go opposite position of 12 and OLB V. Beasley, DT M. Brown or ILB Perryman is there. At 43 (hate Cam Erving is gone) but OT Ogbuehi and QB Hundley is there. At 77 stock will be up on WR Tyler Lockett passing on LB DePriest and OL Tomlinson. At picks 108 and 112 it's best player available not filled needs QB,TE and OL, (No Hundley at 77) BPAvailable(at 108 and 112) include QB's Grayson, Mannion.TE Heuerman and OL Havenstein (J Thomas brother from another mother at Wisconsin). Still WR's on the board that fit's us...

Round 2 Pick 11: Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State (A)

Computer didn't like my reach on Philon out of Arky-he would be one for the developmental PS.

And it stole Tyler Lockett out of Kan and Crowder out of Duke from me, each about a pick or two above me. Next time I trade for 'em.

That sim was the first I'd heard of him actually. Looks to have potential as a 3-4 DE.

I tried an experiment with it: When it was the Browns pick I took the person at the very top of the list....the supposed BPA....and this is what I came up with:

1A. Eddie Goldman DT FSU

1B. Alvin Dupree DE Kentucky

2. Melvin Gordon RB Wisc.

3. Cameron Erving C FSU

4A. TJ Yeldon RB Alabama

4B. Breshard Perriman WR UCG

5. Steven Nelson CB Oregon

6A Cedric Thompson CB Minnesota

6B. Derrick Lott DT Tenn.-Chattanooga

7. Levi Norwood WR Baylor.

Yea, strictily taking the #1 guy left on the board garnered me 2 big name RBs. Like I said, I didn't draft for need.

You are lucky Gip-I tried that and it kept putting OG AJ Cann which I kept dropping down for more picks until forced to take him at 17. Then I had 2nd day player Ameer Abdullah until I just took him at 22. I could not stand it when it tried to pass off a second C on me at pick 16 in the 4th round and took the second guy, a WR. So using the drop down method got me 4 extra players but never got me the OT or DT I really needed.

Your score is: 4782 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 17 (S.D.): A.J. Cann, OG, South Carolina (B-)
Round 1 Pick 22 (PITT): Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska (B-)
Round 2 Pick 11: Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon (A)
Round 2 Pick 14 (S.F.): Anthony Harris, SS/FS, Virginia (C+)
Round 2 Pick 16 (S.D.): Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State (A)
Round 2 Pick 21 (CINN): Chris Hackett, FS, TCU (A-)
Round 2 Pick 24 (PITT): Clive Walford, TE, Miami (Fla.) ( B)
Round 3 Pick 13: Andy Gallik, C, Boston College (B+)
Round 4 Pick 12: Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.) (C-)
Round 4 Pick 16: Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF (A)
Round 5 Pick 11: Austin Hill, WR, Arizona (C-)
Round 6 Pick 13: Adam Shead, OG, Oklahoma (D+)
Round 6 Pick 26: Antwan Goodley, WR, Baylor (D)
Round 7 Pick 12: Blake Bell, TE, Oklahoma (D-)

No thanks to Arik Armstead. He has a lean frame that could use more weight, poor hands usage, he can't convert speed to power, questionable burst and has heavy feet that seem to stop moving when he (easily) get's locked up by a guard or tackle. He is the quintessential tweener that really won't be suited for either 3 or 5 tech at the next level.

Went with the simulator Tour posted... I accepted 3 trade downs and still got what I wanted.

our Picks:
Round 1 Pick 17 (S.D.): Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
Round 1 Pick 23 (DET): Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State
Round 2 Pick 11: Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke
Round 2 Pick 15 (MIA): Nate Orchard, OLB/DE, Utah
Round 2 Pick 16 (S.D.): Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
Round 3 Pick 4 (OAK): Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State
Round 3 Pick 20 (PHI): Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State
Round 4 Pick 3 (OAK): Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
Round 4 Pick 12: Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M
Round 4 Pick 16: Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn
Round 4 Pick 20 (PHI): Deion Barnes, DE, Penn State
Round 5 Pick 11: Jamon Brown, OT, Louisville
Round 6 Pick 13: Max Garcia, C, Florida
Round 6 Pick 26: Tevin McDonald, FS/SS, Eastern Washington
Round 7 Pick 12: Jared Roberts, K, Colorado State
Round 7 Pick 15 (MIA): Trey DePriest, ILB, Alabama

I went on a run of offense between the 2nd and 4th round. The nice thing about the trade down(s) is that I stockpiled 2nd round picks for players that just need a little work but could be great contributors in their rookie season if need be. I addressed guard early as Tomlinson can be a worthy stand in (god forbid) someone should go down. Likewise snatching up Max Garcia in the 6th. He has the athletic ability to play almost anywhere on the line in a pinch.

Defense dominating early. Shelton, McKinney (should appease some people here that want an ILB) and Nate Orchard to satisfy my tastes. Devin, Grayson and O'Leary. 2 of the 3 might have been a little 'high' but with the picks accrued, I felt comfortable taking the shot. Overall I'd love to see something quite like this, although I'm certain it wont be even close. That said, I realize after looking at the Browns original picks that we are in a prime position to trade down not just once, but twice in the first round alone if Shelton is gone at 12.

Gip was experimenting with the FanSpeak draft. It orders the remaining prospects per the order in whichever model you chose in the set up. They vary widely... especially the latest one by the Bleecher contributor.

The FirstPick sim lists prospects alphabetically by first name so alphabetically your team is tops Ag... ;)

That's Oregon STATE, dipshit. He was the best player on the team this year. He'd be a smokin deal for anyone in round 5.

I thought I read it as Oregon. But Oregon, Oregon St. what's the difference to us?

Oh, wait.....the difference is that Oregon St. has produced busts at QB, like Terry Baker, Derek Anderson, Erik Wilhelm, Matt Moore.

....and not a single Hall of Fame player.

While Oregon has produce Hall of Famer, like Norm Van Brocklin and Dan Fouts...plus other HOFers like Mel Renfro, Gary Zimmerman, Tuffy Leemans, Dave Wilcox. :o

Orchard's an interesting DE-->OLB convertion candidate. Stout and moves well... Have you watched him?

Two others in more or less the same mold are Kikaha and Golden are projected to go a round or so later.

Yes, I have. When all is said and done I think he could be the most complete OLB prospect from this draft with a couple years of development. An above average pass rusher

and a smart coverage backer when dropping. The thing its hardest to teach isn't so much hand usage, but naturally just 'having' it. Orchard has that hand usage.

Dupree physically reminds me of tOSU's own Vernon Gholston. Great physical stature, good straight line speed. His pass rushing moves leave something to be desired as you certainly wont consistently beat NFL tackles with a bull rush. (Although Big Vern didn't play much from a 2point)

In my draft, when I got Shelton, I went similar to how I felt the Patriots would operate. Take that 19th pick, trade down for better value and leverage into more high 2nd round picks where good players can still be found in the top 50. In regards to the draft position, Orchard is a 2nd/fringe 1st for the Browns. When you're past 25th pick I consider that damn near the next round. I had no qualm taking him there.

Taking Devin was a no brainer at that point. Vertical threat that can also high point a ball over a DB which neither Benji, Gabriel or Hawk is capable of. (Another tOSU player reference - Terry Glenn minus the elite burst)

Getting Dallas late 2nd/fringe 3rd rounder I took Grayson. I have a feeling if he throws at the combine, plus his workouts, he'll climb a bit and more than justify this spot. Strong in the pocket, doesn't sit on his first read, good arm strength and good mobility. This would be a GREAT pick at this spot. I'll go out on the limb now and say he's this years version of Derek Carr. Mark my words, if the Browns pass on him in the 2nd round, we will regret it down the road.

Kevin White - I don't have to see combine on this kid to know he's a baller. I love Kwuan, I love Desir's potential but he could very well be an elite slot defender one day. edit:

Doesn't Kwaun also have 2 concussions under his belt already? Just another reason I love this pick.

Marpet - small school kid is about the only knock on him. Quite athletic and moves well laterally. If we want this offense to hum along with the zone stretch, he's a good mid rounder.

Finney - hard to go wrong with a steady, smart kid who has been very consistent over his career. Nothing he does will jump out at you, but nothing he does wrong will either.

4th round and beyond is where things get interesting. I might be the only person that truly enjoys watching tape on late round to UDFA guys.

Perrimen is projected late 4th rounder. Physical abilities are all there, love me some UCF receivers (Brandon Marshall, anymore?) his route tree game needs to be shined.

However this is the knock I heard about Alshon Jeffery whom he compares very well too physically.

Heurman. I saw how effective he was when the Bucks threw to their TE's. He might not be as good an inline blocker as Vannett, but I think he's a bigger threat down the seam.

We could use that athletic mismatch to help replace Cameron.

Max Valles might be the most interesting pick in my mock. Everybody knows about Eli Harold. This kid has all the ability (6'5, 240. Long arms, good speed) has decent stats. Was asked to play contain a bit. He simply plays hesitant when rushing the passer and needs work on his hand usage. If he can be had this late, with proper development might return a better yield in regard to where his counterpart will be drafted. To simplify, I think Harold will be overdrafted. This kid will be underdrafted when we look back in 3-4 years as a finished product. At worst he turns into what Mingo is now, a coverage WLB/ROLB.

Fowler because he's a fullback that can move.

McDonald because on tape, the kid has all the mental make up for the position in the world. Just none of the prototypical size.

I went back to fansspeak and use the buffalobills simulator which was recently added. Amazing how far up WR Tyler Lockett has gone, now up to #35 pick overall in that one.

It seems more realistic than the original. Still can't trade up or down though.

I think the fanspeak simulator has made some adjustments-otherwsie I don't get this kind of draft.

Green-Beckham as a 7th rounder? Are you kidding me? I had to take a 4th WR with him still on the board. Even with problems he is too great a value pick there.
