Cavs- Warriors Depressing

What a time to lay a complete egg. Worst game of the season, and ranks as one of the worst ever at home. Missed the all-time by 5, and biggest home LeBron loss. At least against Portland, they were coming off a back to back. So what's the excuse this time? Over amped? Maybe the Cavs will learn you can't start out slow against a team as good as Golden State.

Irving 3-11, Love 1-5. In the meantime, Curry was shooting the lights out. Defense blew dead worms until it was too late, and GS took their foot off the gas. JR getting tossed was a joke. Usually takes way more than that to get a flagrant 2. It was so ugly, I almost turned the game off.

If the Cavs were trying to make a statement- FAIL. I thought with all hands on deck, at least it would be a competitive game.

All I know is it just figures the years we have a championship quality team in Cleveland the 95-96 bulls are reborn in the league as well. If this team was assembled even 3 years ago no doubt a championship would be had. It's a sad thought because Lebron probably has 3 quality years left to include this season.

Yeah- the ESPN FanBoys jumped off the Cavs wagon today at Warp Speed. After stewing for a day- it's time to calm down. It was one game where the Cavs played poorly, and Golden State played about the best possible.

GS isn't that good, and the Cavs aren't that bad. FWIW, the line on that game had Cleveland favored by 3. The Warriors had far too many uncontested threes- and save for JR, the Cavs were tossing up bricks. Golden State was packing the lane, daring the Cavs to beat them from outside- and they couldn't do it.

The Cavs are not better than the Warriors and they are not better than the Spurs. As Cysko has pointed out they just need to get through the East and hope the West beats up on each other and they will have a chance. On a side note Curry is the best guard in the NBA so please stop with the hate.

Too bad LeBron has yet to have a real coach. He's basically running the team during games, subbing HIMSELF in and out as he sees fit.

During the Warrior onslaught on the Cavs own court, Blatt stood there staring with his hands on his hips. Imagine if Lebron had the opportunity to play UNDER a coach like Popovich ? San Antonios coach has no problem verbally challenging his stars during games.

Man it's great to be a player in Cleveland, if you lose it's always on the coach. Fucking Hargrove.

I didn't realize all LeBron needed was "verbal challenging" to take the next step in his career. Maybe someday he will have that opportunity. Intriguing. Thanks for sharing.

Do you like Blatt as coach ?

What are Blatts strengths as a coach ?

Do you think Spolestra is a great coach? He won a couple rings with the Big Three. I'll take Blatt over Erik.

It was painful. Im afraid that GS could be the new Chicago. Hope not.

Currently, Golden State is playing on an entirely different level than the rest of the NBA. I Thought the Warriors humiliating the Cavs was a fluke, but they turned around and shellacked the Bulls yesterday.

Yep, they beat Brooklyn, but that level of play & slow start still would have gotten them killed against GS. BTW, despite Love going 17\18 against the Nets, I still think he's in a funk. Come playoff time, his- and Kyrie's defense is going to be a liability. Other than Shumpert- they're going to have to improve their perimeter defense 100% if they're going to have a prayer of beating the Warriors.

If push comes to shove- right now I can only hope San Antonio can knock out the Warriors in the Western finals- because I think the Cavs would stand a better chance against them.

Coaches are the most overrated factors in sporting events. Talent wins games. What are Pop's strengths? Snarky comments. I'll tell you Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli all tossed together with bench players that actually make a difference. Now Duncan, Parker and Ginobli are aging out and the Spurs add Leonard and Aldridge.

Pat Riley and Spoelstra were geniuses when they brought Lebron and Bosh in. Now they Lebron and add Dragic and they aren't even a blip on the NBA radar.

Yeah- taking it one step further- is Phil Jackson the greatest coach of all time? (most rings) Or the luckiest- to get Jordan & Pippin, take a couple years off, and get Kobe & Shaq in their primes?

Isn't exactly loading the Knicks up with All Stars at every position.

No. The NFL.

Really cool but probably the best example of all. So many layers of coaching. So many examples of "genius" coordinators leaving talented teams only to stink. So many examples of coaches that are good at one stop and bad in another, Belicheck, Shanahan, Kubiak, Carroll, etc.
