Peter Laviolette won us a Cup with Hurricanes..Talk about some hot thirsty tailgating..WoW..Wish Lavie good luck again where hockey was never a thought. Pekka Rinne stands on his head in goal all series. Preds get back Mike Fisher & Craig Smith for the series with PK Subban boarding any Penguin he see's...Give me the upset & yes Pittsburgh still Sucks!!

PIT 5-3 Game 1. Strange game lowest ever shots on goal by PIT but they won.

Go Nashville.

I did see Carrie Underwood in the luxury box rooting on her man a Predator hockey player....but country music and hockey? Just doesn't have that ring to it, no pickup trucks, NASCAR or gee-tars in it.

Do they drink a Molson while singing with their hound dog?

GO PENS!

Team Odds

Pittsburgh Penguins 10/27

I've been doing this a long, long time and never have seen a 10/27 favorite or any proposition in sports.

Oh! what a lucky man he w as..Mike Fisher...just back from sexual healing from Under Wood from a lower body injury :) .The Pukesburg local refs not only do football but now transform to hockey games too. The first Predators disallowed goal cost them 3 in the first. Was not offsides with any Molsons.Go Preds Go!!

It pissed me off that Ottawa lost in game 7 in double OT to that team from Pittsburgh.

That game was getting a strange vibe for Pittsburgh fans, when you get in sudden death a fluke goal can end your season and cancel your travel plans. :o

As much as I'm a Penguins fan, both Pburgh and my Alma Mater YSU, I thought it might be nice if Oh Canada did win something in their beloved NHL.

But oh well, now the Penguins go for back-to-back Cups vs the Nashville Cats and their legion of fans (they do have fans?) last done by Detroit and the Super Mario bunch.

GO PENGUINS everywhere.

Oooops, Game 2 PIT 4-1 final, up 2-0. NSH must win 4 of the next 5 to win the Cup.

And I'd suggest the Cats fans eat their catfish before the game rather than bring them to the rink to pitch them on the ice.

Squid, catfish whatever what a stupid "tradition".

GO PENGUINS!

Just checked the money from the Opening Lines to now is going slightly toward Pittsburgh.

There is an amazing amount of sports betting information online if you want it, I like it even if you're not going to bet anything just to see what America is thinking....and laying money on.

Well Nashville was a slight favorite and in a must win and did win.

So NSH + OVER 5' = enough money for some good seafood. Plus a lot of penalties to end the game.

Oh 50 times a team was up 2-0 and 45 times went on to win it all. ;)

So now the Preds go back to the Burg all knotted up at 2 games a piece Thursday night. Usually I'd say get ready for some OT marathons? But I just don't see it coming with some of these snipers. Seems like, The last Goon that's still standing in front of the net may just take The Cup..Go Preds!!

Well 2-2 games in PIT/NSH/PIT I guess it's on!

....but I think throwing catfish on the ice is stupid and a cheap knockoff of throwing octopuses on the ice, also a stupid "tradition".

GO PENGUINS everywhere!

AP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Sidney Crosby is bringing the Stanley Cup back home to Pittsburgh for a second consecutive year.

Patric Hornqvist scored with 1:35 left and Matt Murray made 27 saves for his second straight shutout as the Penguins became the NHLs first team in nearly two decades to repeat as champions following a 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 on Sunday night.

The Penguins won their fifth title all of which have been clinched on the road to tie the Wayne Gretzky-Mark Messier-era Edmonton Oilers for sixth on the all-time list. The Detroit Red Wings in 1997 and `98 were the last champion to defend their title, but the Penguins are the first to do it in the salary cap era.

We knew it was going to be tough all year, but we just tried to keep with it, said Crosby, who won his second Conn Smythe Trophy as postseason MVP. We had a lot of injuries and things like that. We just kept finding ways. That was really what we did all season, all playoffs. Its great to be able to do it.

Hornqvist scored off Nashville goalie Pekka Rinnes left elbow to end the scoreless game. Nashville challenged for goalie interference, but the goal was upheld. With Rinne pulled for an extra attacker, Carl Hagelin set off a bench celebration with an empty netter with 13.6 seconds left.

Nashville lost for just the first time in regulation on home ice this postseason........

BEWARE OF THE PENGUINS! ;)
