THE BROWNS BOARD

More then 1/4 'Londoners' live in poverty

Recommended Posts

Indeed. But this isn't people having to walk 12 miles to get fresh water every day kind of poverty, this is relevant to the national average wage. There always have to be people earning below average (or below 60% in this case) for there to be an average. Are all Londoners rich? No. And the problem is worse now with this government - a right wing government not taking good care of the poor, who would have thought? ;) - but by and large people do OK here.

If you think it's the government's job to take care of the poor you're a completely fucking Retarded. Beyond fucked in the head.

Government produces NOTHING and can only take from others in turn forcing businesses to cut employees and raise prices.

England is becoming a multicultural poverty stricken socialist shithole.

Strongsville is very multicultural------LMAO! But they do have a lot of African American females getting busted for shoplifting at South Park Mall.

No, it is very much mostly white.

I still don't agree with the use of "multicultural" as a negative adjective.

... I mean... this country is a "melting pot" after all, and we seem to be doing just fine. Or by "multicultural" do you mean something more along the lines of "they look different than me"?

it seems to me that "multicultural" is better then having all the same culture, at least in certain places.

Just look at East Cleveland, it's probably 95% one culture and it is a horrible place

Dude, there is nothing wrong with diversity. America is diverse.

Multiculturalism is FORCED DIVERSITY, and politically correct horse shit and you know it.

Every college campus flyer or website shows a picture of 10 different minorities all hanging out on the campus lawn trading stories and laughs. (BULLSHIT AND NEVER FUCKING HAPPENS)

When 4 guys get together to watch football, it isn't an Eskimo on a Sled or Indian in a headdress. It's either white guys or a few black and white guys. Every commercial now has to have 10 different minorities to please everyone.

But yes, I'd rather live in a nice white suburban neighbordhood than fucking Watts, South Central, The South Side of Chicago, East St. Louis, or millions of others 3rd Liberal Democratic Welfare shitholes

Let's recap. Strongsville is not very multicultural nor is East Cleveland. Only one community is exceedingly dangerous and poverty stricken.

Is the very first comparison you notice multiculturalism?

No... I can't say I did know multiculturalism was forced diversity.

Colleges having a boner over diversity really has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

Also, not quite sure what commercials you're watching. Are minorities overplayed a little? Sure. Does it infuriate me? No. Is it out of control? No.

I'm getting the vibe that race = cultural to some here. Which goes back to the idea of whether or not the other guy looks like me

I guess we would have been better off if only British people came here...

the vibe you should be getting is that race does not necessarily equal culture and that all cultures are not equally desirable.

We can stop by and irish pub in westpark or an italian restaurant on murray hill or a kosher deli in beachwood or a Mexican restaurant on the near west side or any number of Middle Eastern restaurants in Dearborn without ever fearing for your life.

ISIS is speaking specifically to one subculture.

Excellently put, although I wonder how those communities were view originally before they become fully integrated in to the community, say 100 years ago?

hard to say Chris. When we moved to the Akron Ohio area I was a freshman in high school, back in the sixties, North Hill was a heavily Italian neighborhood. There were lots of excellent restaurants, not fancy but excellent, grocery stores and social clubs and it was commonplace to hear people speaking Italian in their front yards in shops etc.

I don't remember any bad blood besides the usual adolescent stuff. On akron Westside there was a Jewish presence. Matter of fact the worst I ever heard was the high school there, Firestone, was nicknamed Firestein.

I remember thinking both communities we're cool and that was 45 years ago or so.

Akron also had and has a substantial Lebanese population with out any friction at least from my personal observation.

So as far as I can tell it's been pretty copacetic for quite a while.

Some cultures as well obviously dovetail much more nicely - when you've got a culture in place, from the Americans, of family-centric life, good eating, drinking, general good times, and you get the catholic Irish and Italians coming over, they're going to look at each other and think "well, yeah, these guys are brothers from other mothers" or whatever the saying was back then.

Then you get the more 'oppressive' cultures, if you like. Thinking women need to be covered up, that alcohol is devil juice, and yeah, you're gonna get some conflict, especially when they're so vocal. These cultures need to be aware that other people are perfectly entitled to live life however the fuck they want, as long as everyone's happy. And that members of their own culture being exposed to the other isn't a bad thing.

sure Chris I agree with you. As an entertainer on put in Bay which is a gigantic party spot I do see tourists on occasion where the guy is wearing a short sleeve shirt and sandals and his wife is completely covered up on a hot day. Seems a little bit weird to me but that's the life that both of them chose to live.

I also see the occasional group of amish wearing hats bonnets the whole nine yards.. I don't get it what I hope they are enjoying their vacation.
