Discipline - the lack thereof

15 penalties so far this regular season.

To be expected, to some degree, because of all of the newness. New regime, new playbooks, new players (lots of 'em...and YOUNG). But somehow the stupid unforced errors have to be coached out of existence. Pryor, for one, needs a consultation with someone like Greg Pruitt. 'When you make a good play, drop the ball and go back to the huddle.' Act like you expect to make those plays OFTEN and it ain't no big deal. But NOoo, he wants to try and rub the defender's nose in it. Stupid and childish. And he's making a habit of it.

Coleman needs to understand that the guy that retaliates is usually the one getting the flag thrown at his feet.

Those two penalties cost us the game today. (and Cam Erving's infraction cost way more than 5 yards)

It's up to coaching to straighten the players out on silly fouls. It's hard to beat the opponent when you're screwing yourself time and time again. It's gotta be curtailed. (how 'bout stopped? that's the goal)

The Pryor penalty was bogus and a blown call.

Irving's penalty today was on a busted play that he read as a Qb scramble and then McCown ended up throwing it. His fault? Probably considering the situation, but really something to point out as a glaring flaw?

Coleman got a cheap lowered shoulder away from the play from Weddle and got pissed and both threw swings. Should have been off setting... This was an AFC North Rival game so things get chippy...

Oh hush. NFL players talk trash. We're not the only team that does it and we're certainly not the only that takes a penalty here and there for it. As you said, they're young, so in time they will learn what they can get away with and what they can't. But stop trying to turn them into choir boys. That's a great way to solidify a losing culture around here. The guys that are swinging, the guys that are talking trash, those are the guys that I know care and the ones I know hate to lose because they're putting their balls on the line. They know that if they mess up and/or lose all the trash they talk is going to get thrown back in their face.

Unless we're going to travel in a time machine back 40 years (and no, they can't borrow mine), Hue better not tell them to stop talking trash altogether. Control yourself, yes. Make sure you don't get penalties, yes. Don't do it at all? GTFO here. This isn't Pop Warner ball.

I thought 15 penalties in 2 games was bad.

13 penalties today (in Miami). Granted almost 40% belonged OutTo Pasture. - Pryor did a lot of good things today...and didn't act foolishly and draw a penalty. (could he have consulted with Greg Pruitt?)

...it seems that we should just fair catch every punt. Trying to return them just results in a penalty putting us worse position.

penalties aside, Pasztor had a tall order and Cody actually stayed alive. i didn't envy either of them. playing across from Joe Thomas must feel like the wildebeast with the hurt leg when the herd is surrounded by wolves.

plenty more coaching moments to cover. one lesson at a time this team is learning together what not to do.

how many penalties do we have now...i know you said 15...seems like we had 15 more against the dolphins...this is the same old shit since 1999...nothing has changed..hammered in game 1...blow a 20 pt lead in game 2...penalties out the wazoo vs the fins...oooh oooh oooh the more it changes, ooh ooh ooh it stays the same....

Difficult to blame Mack & Schwartz for wanting out of Pilot J's Flying Circus (with a pay raise).

...I thought one of the calls on OutTo Pasture (against Miami) was borderline at best. His man was rushing around him low and Pasture just followed him down to the ground.

We'll probably be seeing more OL penalties now that Bailey will be shelved.

I read this before the Miami game......

...... Even by their lowly standards, the Browns are on their way to being historically

bad. They are playing with more rookies, 15 having made the opening roster, than

any non-expansion team in NFL history. Josh McCown has a shoulder injury to his

non-throwing arm and is working with new receivers and Josh Gordon isn’t back yet

from suspension. It’s best to either fade, or leave the Browns alone. ........

A bit harsh or right on?

and by the beginning of next season that number 15 will prob be down to 7 and then the FO will trade out of the 1st and draft 16 more lower level players and restock for 2018 where they will repeat the process.....never laying a foundation of pro bowl caliber players to build upon.

But, but ......................butt Harvard, baseball, analytics, less $$$, astrology and lead into gold! How can you say that mik!!??

It's not like we'd sign a kicker that misses 3 FG's in one game or something! :P

Yep, that's our Jimmy

Out kicker misses 3 FG's including the game winner (game loser).....and we're KEEPING him. A kicker!

What happened to Jimmy's "Accountability"? He was all over Chud for not kicking Greg Little off the team for dropping a wide open TD pass. It seems like his 'Accountability' has turned into his 'bank account ability'.

He is not a business man by any stretch.... Kraft? Rooney? They know business. At gliding J he hired a bunch of back stabbing thieves and never realized it till the FBI told him. Hired a proxy gm then picked a drunken hillbilly to QB his team. Now a guy that is more suited to work with the Tribe than any football team is co-gm. Hmmmm, is it the kicker? The coach? QB? Nope, it's our good ole boy owner. Shit flows downhill and James is the top of the hill.

And yet, without major bad luck....and idiocy by the refs, they could possibly be 2-1.

And they will continue to improve and be highly competitive.

Count a hillbilly? Who tolerates alcohol on the team plane when it's forbidden? We've lost several players now due to this and yet it keeps happening.

You know even some minor BS bad luck really cost them two wins, just, well we all know by heart now a bad penalty and missed FG and they'd be 2-1 and the national press would be off their backs....and the locals here figuring, scheming how they're going to make the playoffs.

Even some idiot here pointing out before the season yapping about their last 9 games are HHAHH bye HAHA. ....oh wait that was me, nevermind.

......but with Gordon back having found Jesus and RGIII back and a new man.....nevermind.
