Per WallStreet 24/7 these are the most Content cities in the US, based on a variety of factors:

 

10. Lincoln, Neb.

9. San Francisco/Oakland CA

8. San Luis Obispos CA

7. Naples/Marco Island FLA

6. Ann Arbor Mich.

5. San Jose CA

4. Honolulu HI

3. Ft. Collins COL

2. Boulder COL

1. Provo Utah

 

I note nearly all are mild weather cities. And at least 4 of them are the homes of large stable universities.

 

Here are the 10 most Miserable cities:

 

10. Evansville Ind.

9. Mobile Ala.

8. Shreveport La.

7. Columbus, Ga.

6. Beaumont/Port Arthur TX

5. Hickory NC

4. Spartanburg SC

3. Redding CA

2. Charleston WVa.

1. Huntington WVa.

10. San Luis Obispo

9. Washington DC

8. Ann Arbor

7. Honolulu

6. Barnstable Mass.

2 colorado cities which i agree upon.

 

beautiful country, skiing all year round and downtown denver big city feel with aspen and telluride hosting celebrities for film festivals and skiing.

 

been to every city on the list except sanluis obisco and lincoln. if lincoln is anything like north platte, NE then i know the real reason they are so happy.

Ft. Collins and Boulder are really not all that close to Aspen or Telluride.

 

Lincoln is dominated by the big University there...for more even than Columbus is.

Even San Luis Obispo has Cal Poly which is a lot bigger than people think. There are 18,000 student at Cal Poly, and SLO is only a town of about 50,000.

Provo has BYU

Boulder has Colorado U.

Lincoln has Nebraska U

Ann Arbor has Michigan

 

The likes of San Fran/San Jose/Honolulu/Naples have obvious attractions, primarily good weather and wealth.

OK, money can't buy you happiness....but it can buy you contentedness.
