Tour2ma
Interesting exercise...QB Petty - the more I watch, the more I likeRB Gurley - going to be a beast, pure and simple...WR Cooper - so solid; going to be great for many years.TE None - Honestly not crazy about any; all lack at least one attribute I value (size, speed, agility).OT Peat - best technique in the draftOG Marpet - most athletic O-line in the draftC Erving - strong plus can moveDT Shelton - immovable objectDE Williams - would be awesome on the edge of Pet's DOLB Beasley - while he's not my "3-down" guy, he's too enticing to passILB Anthony - but my "sleeper" Heeney is not far behind and is shooting up boardsS Rowe - I think he converts from CB to FS at the NFL level and excelsCB Jones - love his size and upside

thenew23
QB - Mariota (one of the 3-5 best prospects to come out in the last 6 or 7 years) RB - Gurley (probably the best RB prospect to come out in a while) WR - Cooper (solid. Does everything well) TE - O'leary (best hands, great blocker, and could develop into a real red-zone threat) O LINE TACKLE - Flowers (would be great in place of Schwartz, and is good enough to take over for JT in a few years) O LINE GUARD - Scherff (can I take him to play G? b/c that's probably his best fit, and he could be a good one) D LINE - Shelton (ideal 3-4 NT) D END - Williams (great addition to our group of DEs) OLB - Fowler (great size, has versatility, and could be a 3-down guy... which we need) ILB - Kendricks (I only wish he was 2 inches taller, but he does have great athleticism) SAFETY - L. Collins (he could develop into a good Whitner replacement) CB - J. Collins (has great size, speed, and athleticism)

gumby73
1. It is a great story when any Small College School can find a Kid with this kind of Talent. 2. If you find any interview's of him, he's always positive, Great Teammate influence. 3. We will need another Joe Thomas down the road in the locker room.. Like the Kid but you our right. He may be a risk in NFL Talent where you have to draft him..

Tour2ma
why does everyone consider marpet the top OG? if not for a great combine showing you would've never heard of him. Sr. Bowl gave us a pretty good clue. Combine numbers only reinforced it. I was laughing too. Maybe we will be the ones laughed at when he takes the field? The sad but funny part is the scarcity of QB talent to emerge in the past 6 - 7 years. Here are the franchise level guys in that time period. It may be too early to evaluate 2014 and a couple others might be debated... 2014: Bortles, Teddy, Carr 2013: nada 2012: Luck, Tannehill, Wilson 2011: Newton, Dalton, Kaep 2010: nada 2009: Stafford 2008: Ryan, Flacco MM certainly has a shot at placing in the top 5 here. Question is... how good is that chance?

thenew23
I think he meant top 5-6 prospects regardless of position. In which case makes it an even greater laugh. I meant QB. And look at that list Tour has, which I have adjusted: 2015: Winston, Mariota, Hundley 2014: Bortles, Manziel, Bridgewater 2013: Manuel, Smith, Barkley 2012: Luck, RGIII, Tannehill 2011: Newton, Locker, Gabbert 2010: Bradford, Tebow, Clausen 2009: Stafford, Sanchez, Freeman Going into their respective drafts, these were considered the top 3 QB prospects for each of the past 7 years. It's easy to say what each has done/not done in the NFL, but purely as a prospect, where does Mariota fit among that list? 1. Luck - was concensus #1 2. Stafford - was concensus #1 3. Newton - was concensus #1 4. Mariota - on-field questions, but off-field has everything. May have been drafted #1 overall if he came out in 2014. There are still debates over who should be taken #1 this year... 5.Winston - on-field #1, but off-field issues 6. Bradford - became the concensus #1 because of the Rams desperate need for QB, but there were questions about him developing into a pro 7. RGIII - Combine riser who became the obvious #2 pick after Luck I'm not saying that being a top prospect always leads to a great NFL career, but NOT using hindsight, I have Mariota as the #4 on my list because Id take him over Winston. Wherever you put him on that list, you'd be lying if he wasn't still a top 7 QB prospect out of the past 7 drafts, and that kind of player would be hard to pass up... Maybe my take on him his all wrong, but I think he'll be drafted 2nd, and I think the Titans would be crazy not to take him for themselves... Tour2ma
2010 was no prize winner either... It helps 2013, if you consider that only Manuel was taken in Rnd 1. Also Glennon, a 3rd round choice, was taken well ahead of Barkley, a 4th. So, you don't count RGIII? No... he may yet force me to, but until he does... Going into their respective drafts, these were considered the top 3 QB prospects for each of the past 7 years. It's easy to say what each has done/not done in the NFL, but purely as a prospect, where does Mariota fit among that list? See where you're going, but I think it's fine to consider how past prospects have actually done in the NFL.
