  1. "Enjoyed", The Great Zomboni doesnt even feel a little shamed slutting it up. Theres no remorse there, I respect it.
  2. I agree with this completely, you also say that Mccown looked like he had the offense running well on that first drive. Who do you start if Mccown is cleared? I give the edge to Mccown right now, however, I think Johnny should come in later this year. I dont know exactly how to effectively groom a qb on a bench in todays NFL, though. Aaron rodgers ran the scout team offense for a while and sat behind farve a couple years. That seemed to work lol. Honestly this is a tough decision. Its obvious Manziel needs live reps to give us a clear picture of his potential, but Mccown is running a fluid offense.
  3. I exited on good terms after my contract was up. I was a Patriot Missile System Technician, which is a nice technical job. I rose up in rank, my job became micromanaging and babysitting 24 hours a day and SOMETIMES teaching my expertise. That's not really what i wanted, I could make way better money on the outside and still work for a military contractor (if i chose). Also, Patriot was made in the 60's. Great system, still works. The only reason its still around in the Army, though, is because they don't want to buy all new systems. There will be a day sometime where they throw it out. I want to work on something new, something more exciting. Traveling and deploying made keeping girlfriends a lose lose situation. In the end, great experience, happy I did it, love the people I worked with, but If I really wanted to enjoy life instead of suck it up for 13 more years I had to get out. I had good options, I got out. Shooting for a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Would love to work for NASA or the like. Have connections in missile defense if things don't work out that way
  4. Thanks, hope to see the same crew around the tavern. Dbone is gonna hold my hand for good luck this week so well be alright. 50% of the time, it works every time. Also, yeah GI bill. Pay me to go to school. Ill take it!
  5. Exited the miltary after 7 years. Moved to NY. Finishing up a bachelors. Things happnin. Ill be around to watch the game this weekend. You cant find it at the bars out here. Giants or GTFO... lol
  6. Hey guys havent posten in a while. As far as Jonny is concerned I think he looked improved. He needs some time for the nfl game to slow down for him still, I think he can get there. Needs to work on protecting the ball, clearly he knows that. Id say: Arm-is making all the throws. Check. Prep- Pettine said he did a good job lining people up, understanding the play. Check. Ball security- Big issue. Needs overhaul on how to carry, he carried it pretty loose in college too but got hit with poorer technique. Needs improvement. Decision making- Much improved from last year to be honest. Didnt get talked about too much. Maybe on par for how many starts he has, could be improved a bit. Check (good enough). Something that has really fell through the cracks is the jets matchup and game plan against us. First of all, the way they are set up defensively blow us up. They have strong cover corners and a great D line. What did they do? Let their corners play 1v1 against our WR, who are not huge playmakers, and load the box. They had the box stacked when we tried to run and had pressure on Jonny when we tried to throw. With that gameplan we were going to be forced into our Wr or tight ends getting open in 1v1 situations. Thas not the strength of the browns right now and they had the personell to put us in that situatiom. I suspect that our line will look much better and our run game will look much improved against the Titans. Subsequently, Jonny and the passing game might have managable 3rd downs and we can move the ball more efficiently. Overall, id like to at least see what the guy has. I dont mind differing opinions, but please can your opinions be valid, based on whats happening. Dont post 1000 posts about how Jonny has no arm strength or looks to run all the time (not so much in this thread but "hard to stay positive" thread and past threads) .... based on he can run or hes a smaller qb. Hes got great arm stregth for his size and hes more than average in Nfl terms. He can run when a play collapses, thats a strength. Just tell me you dont want him to play because he doesnt go through his entire progression or doesnt look poised enough. Anything that you see on the field! Not basis-less bullshit you made up in your head. Thats my 2 cents. Also, Lets go Browns!
  7. Smart, focused, and diligent ARE JF's biggest ON THE FIELD qualities outside of his innate playmaking ability when a play breaks down. I think MANY people are confusing jf's decision to take advantage of all he can and spending all his time to promote himself. There is time to focus on football and jonny cementing his futire financially. Its simply not one or the other, hes doing whats offered to him. I say go for it. I keep seeing articles about jf hanging out with this person or that person but hes only getting that coverage because its him. Other players do the exact same thing and never even get a breath spoken to it. Other players arent spending 24 hours a day in some imaginary nfl playbook they dont have. Jonny is living his life exactly the same way the other top prospects are (doing what they want while getting ready for the draft). Jonnys lifestyle is just more in the media because espn thinks it will get views (and it will). If youre going to knock jf, do it about football. Watch the tape, I see the best qb in this draft, with the most "follow me to war" mentality (im a sergeant in the army) ive EVER seen a qb display. Its an obvious risk for his size and injury potential but I really dont see how you pass on this kid.
