THE BROWNS BOARD

The Las Vegas Raiders

OR NY with one true team the 0-4 super bowl Bills....unless they end up in Canada then NY will technically have ZERO

I've been in Tex-ass a few times way back but that was closer to the Dallas and Houston OILERS era which they let left Houston without as much as a wimper. I remember a save the Oilers rally when there were more press than fans....no kidding! The BROWNS fans put up a way better fight.

Oh and now Tex-ass can try to get what they've always wanted three NFL teams and their own country.

I am just saying that the San Antonio/Austin market is plenty big enough to support an NFL team. The population of that area is at least as big as half the NFL markets now. And they certainly are enthusiastic football fans.

They should not have to be relegated to being a "colony" of the Dallas Cowboys just because Jerry Jones is a greedy motherfucker.

Which is why he got elected to the HOF. Besides total greed...what has he really brought to the game of any substance.

Here is a whiny asshole in this whole Oakland move thing. Bruce Allen, former GM of the Raiders says that "Oakland has no vision".

I mean....give me a fucking break. This is just another case of Billionaire welfare. Whaa, whaa, whaa....the city must give us a place to do our business.

http://raiderswire.usatoday.com/2017/02/04/former-raiders-exec-says-city-of-oakland-has-no-vision-and-never-appreciated-the-raiders/

Let me ask this question: any of you out there that own your own business....did your communities provide you with a location to operate your business, paid for to a large extent by local tax money?

I certainly do not have that.

I do sit on our local Community Development Board. We do encourage business to come to town. We try to find adequate locations, we provide loans, and sometimes we work with them to procure tax credits etc.

But we never give them a taxpayer paid facility.

I certainly do know that cities compete for businesses to come to town...or to stay in town. But nothing to this extent is done.

And the crying, bitching and whining by billionaires who don't get there way by getting free money? Childish. And maybe, just maybe, these cities are no worse off without the team in town.

San Diego could be building a new stadium....with no public vote...or perhaps even public money involved

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/san-diego-developer-contacts-nfl-wants-to-build-stadium-with-raiders-as-target/

If this stadium deal goes through, they could target the Raiders to move there.....or...even ask the Chargers to move back.

The Chargers are not moving back so forget that option. The Raiders would be the only target. These business owners and bazillionaires who are involved tried for years to help out the Spanos family to get a stadium done and they were told to shove it, we don't want you or we will take your money but you get no say in anything. So there is no way the Chargers move back to San Diego unless someone else owns them.

The Raiders are an interesting option.

Talk about teams on the move I watched the ill fated XFL centered in Las Vegas on ESPN's 30 for 30 or how not to run a football league. It was only in existence for that one year when NBC lost professional football to FOX.

Interesting but way too WWF-like to appeal to main stream football fans, not even close to the defunct USFL.

It was an interesting idea that just wasn't going to work mostly because they threw together the teams at the last minute and the football was horrible for the most part. I think had they went at it like the WWE and have it all be scripted so every game was exciting and you never knew who was going to win and have the teams that are the good guys and the bad guys (like WWE does) it might actually have worked.

I hope they do get the Raiders. They would be a good fit with the military/ex military crowd.

Plus getting a new stadium built in San Diego would be the ultimate fuck you to Dean Spanos who says it can't be done and has done more selling and marketing for his team in the 6 weeks since he moved to LA then in the previous 16 years combined in San Diego.

The best thing about the Raiders moving to Vegas is that I can get the fuck out of here. That's a win-win situation.

I get to root for a fun team, You ass-fucks get to continue your idiotic circle jerk without the nuisance of reality bothering you.

You're not tough enough to be a Raiders fan. The minute they start losing again, you'll be all touchy feely with fans of their biggest rival.

We've already seen this sequel.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out...

"He's really going to whip that unit into shape"

"We finally have the right coach/assistant combination"

"He was really the brains behind (insert winning team that coffee fetcher came from)......

Wargogay can come in here and post that THIS YEAR............... "we will steal 2 from our division rivals, and beat 4 other teams"

Of course, then you can all openly say..................Fuck man, Ghoolie was right again.

Why don't you just change your allegiance to them now? Why wait? They probably aren't going to SD anyway.....and wherever they go, why does it matter?

Annual League meeting coming up this coming weekend. At that time it is likely the Raider's move to Las Vegas will be voted on. The above article suggests that the move is a sure thing.

In fact, it seems that the NFL is giving the Raiders a big break to make the move:

http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/03/22/las-vegas-raiders-relocation-fee-nfl-owners-meetings

According to this article, the league is only going to charge the Raiders between 325-375 million as a relocation fee. The Chargers and Rams were charged double this amount recently.

But here is one statement made about both the Raiders and Chargers move:

The NFL is not as strong with the Chargers out of San Diego and the Raiders out of Oakland. The NFL is not as passionate a league. It’s a wealthier league. But it’s not a better league for people who consume the game.

Another question is: if the move to LV is approved, where will the Raiders play in the interim?

Stay in Oakland? Could there not be riotous activity over that....if the Oakland fans are that passionate?

Play in UNLV stadium? The Chargers are playing in a "tiny" 30K stadium. The UNLV stadium is not that big...and certainly not NFL caliber.

Go play in like San Antonio for a couple of years? Would SA want to be used like that? (or would it welcome it as a possible audition for a future team)

Play in the 49ers stadium in Santa Clara?

This was at one time considered as a potential permanent option for the team..It might be the most workable as a temporary solution.

I would thinknthey would play at some university in nevada, stadium size be damned. They cant play in oakland....can u guys imagine what we would have done to the old team had they lame ducked it here for two years before moving to blt?

That was us, not them. Apparently according to some reports it does not matter where they would play...Oakland/LA/Vegas, a lot of Raider fans will still be fans of the team and will support them no matter what.

I don't know if that is a cultural thing, a geographical thing, a generational thing or whatever.

But by no means would that be the case here.

what wouldn't be the case?

That the Cleveland fan base would continue its loyal following toward a team that moved out of town....such as is being suggested about Raider fans with the move to Vegas.

It just does not seem to me that the East Bay fans will switch their allegiances to the 49ers if/when the Raiders leave. I don't think that happened the first time when they went to LA....and at that time, if you recall, the 49ers were right in the midst of their dynasty with Joe Montana.

If they didn't switch to follow Joe Cool, why would they switch to follow the mess that is the 49ers today?

I can see it now. Browns with a halftime lead over the Raiders after Carr goes down. A 12th man QB stumbles out of Caesar's Palace to beat the Browns in overtime. Browns fire Huey, Dewey and Sushi. :P

Or the referees getting very nervous in the 4th quarter on the bets they placed before the game at their favorite sportsbook and start going wild with the PI calls vs the opponents.

I got news for you. If the Raiders move to Vegas, the team won't need any California fans to "migrate". Vegas in the NFL? The marketing goldmine is beyond the imagination.

No shit, the Raiders move to Ghoolieville, I am the fuck done with this bullshit franchise.

This is exactly what Jimmy Haslam wants.. People with the same exact attitude you have , so he can get a sweetheart deal.. and move the Browns elsewhere when the stadium lease is up in 25...

Why?........... and where?......

Believe it or not the NFL is near the saturation point, oh sure there might be a rare move like Oakland from that disgusting stadium but don't count on too many billion dollar super stadiums in the coming years.

Oh the NFL is now actively working on speeding up games, why? Well not for us old farts but it's to try and retain younger viewers which are leaving or just not that in to being a die hard lifer.

Ratings are sliding too, we'll see where that goes.

LMAO. Past my throwing prime, but I would fistfight any 3 NFL players back to back in 3 round fights. There isn't a player in the fucking NFL who could toss leather with me.

Ha tough talk. Myles Garrett would KO you with one punch like Joe Mixon did with the girlfriend.

When I stop posting, the board will die. I am the ONLY POSTER who management ever asked to return to the board because posting totals were down. Just remember that cock pus. I am here because I am the most highly read posted on the board. Like a QB, as goes Ghoolie, so goes the board.

Hey Beaver Breath, is this song about you or Vincent Van Gogh?

I like the name, Nashville Cats.

Cleveland has the Browns version 2.

It's not the Fake Browns. They are 'real Browns'. Just like the Browns fans that go to the games are 'real Browns fans'. It's just that the team has STUNK for 17 years. That has an affect on a fan base. It's new to Browns fans. The team was always pretty darned good in the 'old days'.

Here in New England, we could drive up to the stadium, buy tickets on Sunday and sit just about anywhere we wanted...in the 'old' days. But right around the time the Browns went missing the Patriots started winning superbowls. Now, it's tough to get a ticket.

It all depends upon which way the pendulum swings. Are you in a Good cycle? Or the Bad?

<<I like the name, Nashville Cats.>>

The arena team may still have the trademark on that name, (Kats) play clean as country waterrrrrr

<<Cleveland has the Browns version 2.

Semantics. If you buy a new Indian Motorcycle, you have a Polaris, It can say Indian, but it is a Polaris. Nobody is ever going to pay vintage prices for a Polaris. It IS an Indian, but it is a "facade". So rather than say fake, let's call the existing team a facade. It is dressed up to resemble what once was. It is not unlike going to an attraction at Disneyland. For a moment, you actually believe you are in a movie scene. But it is a facade.

Players are constantly moving around these days. Modell sold the 'old' team off. Things change now-a-days. This is what the Browns are now.

I never said the fans were fake. hey are indeed authentic, albeit not well educated, and duped into believing a lie. You cannot blame Don Quixote for charging windmills and believing they were dragons. He was sincere, he was just delusional. Browns fans, like Quixote see what they want to see, regardless of reality. They are delusional.

<<It's just that the team has STUNK for 17 years. That has an affect on a fan base. It's new to Browns fans. The team was always pretty darned good in the 'old days'.>>

Unless you are 40, you do not recall the Browns being "pretty darned good". Losing is NOT new to a large percentage of Browns fans, it is not new, it is standard operating procedure.

Prolonged losing is new to the Browns fans. It takes quite some time for the results of prolonged losing to show.

<<Here in New England, we could drive up to the stadium, buy tickets on Sunday and sit just about anywhere we wanted...in the 'old' days. But right around the time the Browns went missing the Patriots started winning superbowls. Now, it's tough to get a ticket.>>

Not applicable. Absolutely not applicable. New England Fans are like Steeler fans. The Browns drew more home field fans during Nick Skorich's 3 - 11 debacle, than any of the Bradshaw era SB teams. What is happening now has far, far less to do with losing, and everything to do with having incompetent jackoffs running the team.

Goul, Patriots fans are as 'fly by night' as any others. New England is only Patriots Nation because they're winning. This is really RedSox Nation. When the Patriots suck the stands will be empty again.

<<It all depends upon which way the pendulum swings. Are you in a Good cycle? Or the Bad?>>

The Browns are the worst team in the history of the NFL. Never has a team been so totally incompetent. That's why the fans are waning, and that's why Haslam is likely to move this team one day.

Wrong. The Aint's and the Creamsicles were more incompetent the we've been. But we're workin' on it....

Garret is a football player, not a badass. Have you ever watched a football player bowl or dance? They are so fucking un-coordinated and off balance it is laugable.

Garrett could beat me at pass rushing, in a ring? Anyone here, anyone in the NFL....... I promise you, taking spar shots from the acorn is far, far, far in excess of anything some fuck tard, dimwit football player can even contemplate. A few fucking things I Know, accordin, and duckes are two of them. ANY fucking NFL player..........you find a way to set it up...........I'll fuck up whatrever NBA, NFL cunt you find that is stupid enough to step in the ring. ANY of them.

Or.....Too Tall Fuck Jones, another "Garret Type Badass"???? 5 nobody fights, then a washed up undersized journeymen named Yaqui Meneses peppered the living shit out of the dumb bastard, but got a celebrity decision.................. after that ass kicking Jones, a cunt, like Garrett, went back to playing football............. whyere the targets don't hit back.

Football players are uncoordinated ass-fucks. I'd scramble any of their fucking brains.

Uncoordinated- horseshit. Garrett might not be able to dance, but you could hit him 20 times with body shots, and he'd laugh at you. You aren't even in the same universe he occupies in physical conditioning.

Nice fantasy old guy, I'd lay off the Zaya. So give it up what you think you could do 20 or 30 years ago. I got to compete with NFL level talent- in basketball- in High School. Get back with me after you go to the gym and tell me how many times you can bench 220. My bet is zero. Know for sure I can't move that anymore. I'd damn near bet my house you can't break 5.0 flat in a 40, and probably not even 5.7 without tearing a hammie. All Garrett or any similar guy would do is run rings around your fat ass, block any punch you tried to throw- and their first punch would knock you out of the ring- wherever they landed it. LOL, or break one of your aged arms. :)

This is Ghoolie VS. Garrett. Ghoolie = girl. PS, it's also why I don't want Mixon.
