Taking Christ's name in vain, Biden blasts biblical marriage 'bigots'

Recommended Posts

"Every ridiculous assertion from Dr. Carson on — I mean, ridiculous. I mean, J****, G**," Biden exclaimed before the LGBT crowd. "Oh G**. I mean, it's kind of hard to fathom, isn't it?"

The vice president then resorted to name calling, insinuating that Carson and others who ascribe to the biblical view of homosexuality should be eradicated from the planet in the name of "equality" and "tolerance."

"We're never going to be able to eliminate the bigots," Biden continued his rant. "They're a small percentage of the population."

*I read some books by ministers written over 100 years ago who said the time would come when things got so bad the world would be happy to see Christians gone. I never believed that until now.

Motherfuckers have been sayin' that for quite a while now.

So we are that much closer.

When the vice president of the United States calls Christians who believe the bible bigots it is just another sign we are deep into the end times.

I remember as a child listening to Pastor Womack preach about how as Christians we are "living in the last days" and that with current events and scripture he expected "Jesus return within 20 years". That was 1993.

Also, if Satan and his minions are really bent on destroying the moral fabric of humanity, I think gay marriage is about the last thing that would resemble doing so. Heterosexual divorce rate, marital infidelity, violence towards other people and/or Christians, stopping good deeds rooted in faith to pursue for selfish life-styles etc etc.

Nevermind overlooking alternative energies sources, food shortages, severe drought or extreme boughts of weather causing enormous destruction. The queers getting hitched is clearly when we've veered off the path causing the " End times "..... indeed....

The Apostle Paul listed a number of sins that would keep a person from entering the kingdom. Homosexuality was just one of them, not the only one. Christians like myself do not hate gays but will never cross a line and condone gay behavior and take sides against clear bible teaching against homosexuality in both the Old and New covenant.

Nobody knows the exact date of the Lord's return. We just look at the signs of the end times. They are staring at us now.

No, the anti-gay marriage side has plenty of reasonable, well thought out arguments against gay marriage...

We're censoring god and Jesus now? Jesus fucking Christ. Or fucking Mohammed. Or whatever

Shut up kid, no one takes you seriously in here.

And when one side uses common sense and science

While the other side uses a popular old book....

.... The two sides shouldn't be treated equally. They don't have the same level of merit.

You can live without faith if you choose, I wouldn't want to live that way.

You are not living with any faith unless it is faith in yourself. You are also living without any hope. Not a way I would want to live.

Wait, what? I don't believe in the stories in an old book so I have no faith or hope?

I hope we can get to a point where religion is not a major part of society. I have faith that, as we become more intelligent as a whole, we'll get there.

Naturalism and evolution teach us that there is in Nature an inherent tendency towards improvement. People don’t just apply this principle to the physical world. How do they apply this premise to their view of human nature?

Answer: We should be good and getting better.

What do the Bible, the principle of entropy, and history teach?

Answer: To put it simply—Things tend to fall apart without an external force maintaining it. In the moral and spiritual realm, that external force (really an internal force) is the Holy Spirit. Despite what the rationalists say, you can’t just teach morality and expect men to follow the rules. People don’t usually do what they know is right. They do what they love to do. They do what makes them feel good, what gives them power, etc. Education doesn’t make people be good. It just makes smarter sinners.

Anyone who studies history knows that nations may start good and grow for a while, but then immorality sets in, everyone does what is right in their own eyes and the society fails. We see it over and over again in the Bible, especially in the book of Judges. And in secular history --Babylon, Assyria, Greece, Rome. And we are repeating this cycle in America.

Education makes smarter people. Smart people question things and seek answers. This process causes us to grow as a people. Smarter people will question stories in an old book. Doing something just because it is tradition will not be good enough.

Do you think, without religion (specifically Christianity), there is no basis for morality?

You are also using the fact nature hasn't fallen apart as proof of god?

You're committed to your faith, I guess that is admirable, but honestly I think you lack basic reasoning skills. Comments such as the ones you've made stating you'll reject any piece of evidence flat out if it disagrees with the bible, that just screams being close minded. I can't even imagine thinking that way.

No you are missing the point. People are not inherently good and education will not make them that way. If you don't think people are born with a sin nature you need to watch some young children, they are naturally selfish and disobedient. It is human nature that education is not going to improve. Do you think education is going to "evolve" human nature. You are sadly mistaken.

What do you think communism was about? If everyone in society is equal, then everyone will choose to act properly. They will work to the best of their ability and take only what they need from the community.

Does Marxism, Communism or socialism work? We’ve already seen the Soviet Union abandon it. China is abandoning it. In practice, a few rule and oppress the masses – keeping them in poverty. Taxes go way up, and productivity goes way down, etc. People are basically selfish and don’t work for the good of society. It’s only those in leadership, with all the privileges, who tell everyone else how wonderful Marxism, Communism or Socialism is.

The early church had a form of communism. They had a type of wealth re-distribution where those who had more than they needed shared with other churches who were in need. That system only worked because the early church had changed hearts and the love of God in their lives. It is the nature of man, the heart that is corrupt and needs what Jesus said to be born again. Education will never touch that or improve it.

We should give up on learning new things and just stick to the good book. Space travel and medical advances are for heathens.

I'm happy with medical advances and it is Obama who cut back our space program so we have to hitch a ride with the Russians now to go into space.

Mussoliini was smart. Became a teacher. Woody's kind of hero - real smart, real reasoning capabilities

with education.

http://www.answers.com/Q/What_was_benito_mussolini_education

Mussolini's education was characterized by disobedience and aggression. He was a bully at school and was sent to the Salesian fathers boarding school, where he was the recipient of increasingly severe punishments, ending in expulsion when he assaulted a fellow student with a penknife. From the school in Faenza he went on to a school at Forlimpopoli and was expelled, again for stabbing a fellow student. Despite his penchant for violence Benito was very bright. He did well in his examinations at the normal school and obtained a teaching certificate. He did not teach for long. He was incapable of controlling a class and was already developing a reputation as a political agitator and for remarkable rhetorical talent.

At the age of ten, Ioseb received a scholarship to the Gori Theological School (Горийское Духовное Училище). His peers were mostly the sons of affluent priests, officials, and merchants. He and most of his classmates at Gori were Georgians and spoke mostly Georgian. However, at school they were forced to speak Russian. Ioseb proved one of the best students in the class, earning top marks across the board. He became a very good choir-singer and was often hired to sing at weddings. He also began to write poetry, something he would develop in later years.[1]

woody kind of reasoning skills from being edumatcated !!!

****************************************

http://www.biography.com/people/ted-kaczynski-578450#early-years

After graduating Harvard in 1962, Kaczynski continued his studies at the University of Michigan. While there, he taught classes and worked on his dissertation, which was widely praised. Kaczynski earned his doctoral degree from the university in 1967, then moved west to teach at the University of California Berkeley.

Kaczynski struggled at Berkeley, having a hard time delivering his lectures and often avoiding contact with his students. He resigned his assistant professorship in 1969. By the early 1970s, Kaczynski had given up his old life, and settled in Montana. He built himself a small cabin near Lincoln, where he lived in near total isolation. He hunted rabbits, grew vegetables, and spent a lot of time reading. Over the years, he developed his own anti-government and anti-technology philosophy.

So the Holy Spirit is essentially meant to be the check and balance of maintaining 'morality'. ?

You make it sound less like a guiding principle of strengthing ones walk with Jesus and more like a form of control.
