WSS Anyone with sense should know that breathing in smoke of any kind is not optimal even before the cigarette companies were investigated. Also, the only way I could see this as making sense is if there was no warning label back then on the carton. If the dangers were fully known, and the company did not display this information, then I could see how they got hit. It may be pretty obvious smoking is bad for you, but if the full effects that were known at the time weren't displayed, then they were vulnerable.
