As a Browns Fan This is the MOST UNENTHUSED Ive ever been entering a Season

Josh freaking McCown, some stop-gap putrid journey man QB who wont even be here in 2016 most likely and our 2 first round picks sitting on the line.

No playmakers.

This is about as boring as football will get.

I am, for the first time too, thinking about not even bothering buying the league pass.

I have been excited about this team ever since we hired Pettine and Farmer. My thoughts are we needed to improve the talent overall on the team and not chase after the elusive franchise qb especially since this did not seem like a great year to do so. I see Pettine and Farmer building this team solidly. Pettine said he wanted to go defense this year as they were closer to being complete on that side of the ball and a great pass defensive team just got improved with more talent to stop the running game.

I agree with what Brian Hartline said earlier this year about trusting Pettine and the coaches on McCown:

Brian Hartline minced no words in defending quarterback Josh McCown from naysayers on Tuesday.

Hartline's feelings toward the critics (including some media) came on a conference call after he signed his two-year contract, and can be summed up in this sentence: "Anybody that wants to bring in a veteran guy like that and believes in him, if you are a fan of the team why wouldn't you trust the coaching staff and what they are trying to build?"

After what is their greatest draft in many years.... a deemweet from the past is

coming back to mix it up over the boring summer?

I see a huge, dramatic change in the Browns this year - their draft

was a game-changer. When you figure they had far less weaknesses

than previous years... this draft will throw the Browns into the playoff

ability in the division as soon as they hit preseason.

Some things don't mix together. Oil and water. Steeler fans and any other fans.

Vegetarians, ground chuck.

2015-2016 Cleveland Browns, perpetual downer debbies.

This thread actually makes me feel even more excited for the season...... Two things are a sure bet:

1) If Debbie Downer hates it, it will be good

2) If PoG loves it, it will suck

dude has issues, maybe bipolar.

i on the other hand, haven't been more excited about an upcoming season since the browns rebirth.

they had a quick snippet on a local sportscast yesterday with the background banner reading 'from worse to first' and they showed 2 helmets, one was the browns……and i believe it.

gonna win some brews this year off them steeler queef fans (if they decide to show).

Very interesting. Lets look at the positions compared to last year:

QB: I know most of you are thinking that Hoyer is better than McCown. He had a horrible Oline in Tampa last year and our Oline is much improved over last year. So expect him to have much more time to throw, but we will be a run team first.

RB: Crowell, West, Johnson. Need I say more. I will point out that when our Oline was depleted last year, we had no run game. Our Oline is much improved this year.

WR: Not sure how anyone could argue that we are in worse shape this year than last. With the addition of the following: Hartline, Bowe, Mayle and whoever survives the last cut, we should be in great shape.

Oline: Adding Erving who can play center if necessary or RG is a major plus. And Mack will be back this year, but we willl see how we do as this year could determine whether he stays or leaves.

Dline: So happy we drafted Shelton. He will take up two blockers and help our run D out incredibly. We can finally sit Phil Taylor on the bench because even when he is healthy, I'm not impressed.

Punter: Adding Andy Lee is huge. We had nothing even close to him last year.

LB; This is where our team is most improved: Adding Orchard, Pullard to a group that we already had including Tank Carder (who is impressing), I really expect much from this group.

TE: Not so sure about this group yet, but we might not need them as much as last year.

DBs: Hayden, Gilbert (that's right, i said his name, will be ready), K'waun Williams is impressing, Tramon Williams (who we got from GB), Gibson, and watch out for Desir.

I usually dont argue about where this team is, but I really believe this team will be a surprise. I was watching NFL Live and everyone of the guys picked us to finish last (again). Dont be surprised to see us in first place.

I don't give a shit if this brand of football isn't exciting or flashy, it's effective. Just ask San Fran and Seattle.

Winning is sexy...

Based on the roster and schedule Vegas will probably put the over/under of Browns wins at 6.5. I'd say that's about right and I typically don't get overly excited about 6 win team. Now fans on here, since it's a Browns site, will trumpet 9-7 or 10-6 but I don't know anyone else outside of "Browns Nation" who sees that success.

Don't get the league pass, don't watch the games, don't listen to the games, don't read about the games, don't watch highlights of the games. And when the Browns shock the NFL, but not the Browns' fans, and you want to come back and post----DON'T

Perhaps I'm wrong. McCown doesn't have to be like Hoyer. Instead I'd like him to channel is inner Hasselbeck.

Anybody remember that 05' season? The Hawks had 3 probowl players on the left side of their Oline and Shaun Alexander.

Their receivers? Bobby Ingram, Darrel Jackson, and JJ.

Don't tell me this team can't find success with the offense they have so long as McCown takes care of the ball and the running game works.

Do those two things and you'd be surprised just how much your passing game opens up on its own.
