The Ravens were ahead by two touchdowns when Shane Vereen who became ineligible lined up as a slot receiver on three occasions. The Ravens defense was confused and Harbaugh should have called a timeout to discuss it with the official. I watched that game and clearly Harbaugh blew it by not taking a timeout. They might have won if he did. So now if an ineligible receiver lines up outside the tackle box it will be a five yard penalty. I read this on ESPN. His defense was confused and all he did was jump up and down yelling on the sidelines. So the Patriots used that formation two more times. So now it will be a five yard penalty. Patriots go on to win Super Bowl. I'm waiting for Mr. Wells to finish his exhaustive investigation into under inflated footballs. By now, he could have found Amelia Earhart! But Roger Goodell emphasized today that the Falcons and Browns had broken the rules and must be punished accordingly even though the texts didn't change the outcome of any games.
