Pumpkin Eater
Not to go full hippy/man of the people here, but it is an analogy equating refugees, mostly women and children, to candy. It is statistically incorrect. And it's just an attempt at fear mongering. Mostly women and children? Source please

jrb12711
You guys should take some time to look at the steps it takes to be accepted as a refugee in the United States. It actually is a really nice infographic here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2015/11/20/infographic-screening-process-refugee-entry-united-states The point is, if our government does ALL that shit and still lets in a terrorist you should be ashamed. This ridiculous and outright untrue idea that the U.S. is some floodgate for refugees is total garbage and nothing but fear mongering.
VaporTrail
We could also go through all of the ways you're more likely to die from than from terrorism And how many of those ways is the government responsible for preventing? How many of those ways of dying actually have an effect on people's way of living? Yes, dying from terrorism is a statistical unlikelihood, but it doesn't change the fact that fear of terror has a much bigger effect on the economy than say, fear of getting struck by lightning. What you're ignoring is that it behooves the government to do something about the perceived threat of terrorism.

There is literally no one to confirm any of those steps so we know that they are being ignored. The U.S. government or the UN refugee orgs cannot ID anyone if they lost their ID and the government buildings are in flames.

If you really think the government cannot identify someone in 2016 with the almost hundred steps it takes to become a refugee in this country you're losing your mind. If they don't get identified they don't become refugees in the United States. Less than 1% of all global refugees even make it past the first step. What the fuck else do you want them to do to vet people? To say refugees are coming through an open door with no idea who they are is completely false and based on nothing but fear mongering. VaporTrail
Also a stupid fucking tweet/comparison Was it retweeted by someone this close to a presidential election? Yeah, but the same people who are outraged by Trump Jr tweeting it are probably the same people who think the #YesAllWomen poster was awesome. The fact that this thread has more discussion than the thread about Hillary's IT guy asking reddit how to delete emails is this year's election coverage in a nutshell.
