THE BROWNS BOARD

for the history buffs

Well, he tries to make his class interesting for his students to keep their attention obviously.

He does a good job at teaching that history is a bit of myth and legend mixed with the truth. Though he never answered the first question "how did Columbus convince the queen to finance the voyage?"

Spices?

But I enjoyed that and hope to see more. It's a little more straight history then the uncovering of bullshit as in the Robert Wuhl show.

Partially spices he thought the world was a lot smaller than it actually is, and felt by sailing west he could trade with India(spices) and China(silk) faster than going south around Africa(the way the Portuguese where searching).

Had to look this part up but he thought it was estimated to be about 3,000 italian miles(3,700km) from the Canary Islands to Japan when it was actually 12,500km
