THE BROWNS BOARD

Arizona again

I disagree, Brother Steve.

Those are Public Records and they should not be withheld from anybody, IMHO.

We are going through something similar in CT and the Police are determined to keep certain records 'under wraps'.

FWIW, I know a few Cops - friends, relatives and acquaintances - and, virtually, to the person they are nice people.

However, put the uniform on them and they believe they they are super human and can do things you and I would never think of actually doing.

The Blue Wall or Shield, if you will. The Great Silence.

Most of the cops noted above could never be confused with being a Philadelphia Lawyer and owe their generous compensation and sickening pension to an uncle or drinking buddy of their father who knows somebody who knows somebody, etc.

When I used to travel to Mexico on business, I was told to fear the Cops more than the Robbers. Sometimes I wonder if things are kind of like that here, in certain circumstances.

PS I am NOT suggesting any get up in the morning and say, "I'm gonna get me a nigga today". Clearly that isn't the case.

Necessary despite all the warts? Probably. However, sunlight should be shed on all public records, not only those handpicked to protect the guilty.

Steve quoted an extremely liberal web site. I guess woody finally changed his way of thinking......

I quoted a story that had been posted on an extremely liberal website since that website and it's readers were apparently outraged by that statute.

I'm fine with the statute as my comment stated. I think broadcasting the names of officers who are forced to use their weapons in the line of duty are liable to become targets of the scum who support the criminal element.

If they are charged with a crime, then I figure the information

should get out. But Officer Wilson's family had death threats from the gitgo.

A -little- protection is in order, since so much of the media, and the black

subculture in Ferguson went apedung over a lie.

Yeah I don't see the benefit of releasing an officer's name right after an incident. There are people who would not wait for an investigation and go looking for the cop or his family.

Do you really believe this is a Police safety issue?

The name will get out to those who would, perhaps, take direct retribution.

The reason is really to allow the Police up to 2 months to review and, perhaps, sanitize the reporting.

It was only said that the name of the officer would be withheld, not the information pertaining to the incident. If a case goes screwy with questionable investigating, I have no doubt in my mind that the feds would step in to investigate like the Michael Brown incident.
