“The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door and there is no answer,” the investigator said. “And then he hits the door stronger and no answer. There is never an answer." He said, “You can hear he is trying to smash the door down.”

In the USA if one pilot goes to use the head, a stewardess has to go into the cockpit until the other pilot returns. Also, supposedly they have a code/combination they can enter to open the door. Why didn't it work?

Germany could have different operating practices. The more info comes out, the more it seems like this was just a terrible accident. It seems like the copilot got locked out and the pilot had a medical issue. I don't imagine someone would lightly knock on the door in the beginning if it was Team Allthesnackbars In the cockpit.

If they haven't already, Germany needs to change how they deal with people going in and out of the cockpit.

Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin says pounding could be heard on the door during the final minutes as alarms sounded. He said the co-pilot "voluntarily" refused to open the door, and his breathing was normal throughout the final minutes of the flight.

He identified the pilot as a German national and who had never been flagged as a terrorist.

"stupid" isn't the same thing as "way out in goofball land in a few posts here and there"

Woody is not the latter.
