Billy Winn carted off

It never ends with this team, does it. Can't go one fucking week without a DL going down.

Weren't you worrying (1-2 weeks ago) that we might have too many healthy defensive linemen standing on the sidelines during games? We need to remember this is Cleveland and not Dorothy's Kansas just yet. If this was serious - it's a classic reminder of why you don't trade before training camp as Tour already said.

I think it is adorable.

"Who the fuck wants to hear info coming straight from the player? That shit must be queer man!!!"

LMAO! We got to Saturday Night Live at warped speed here.

Guess who the athletic trainers/sports med staff get their information from first? The player. For example, how much pain are you feeling on a scale from 1-10? Billy doesn't answer that with "I don't know until the doctor tells me how much discomfort I'm in" or look to his buddy John with "Hughesy, hook em up with details." When they examine where the discomfort is or need a description of what happened - guess who they ask first again again?

Usually a player (that wants to start or fit a situational rotation) wants to know right away how much time he's going to miss. Billy's a pretty good resource here. He's giving us a Koombayatic exhale here; but if anyone prefers to hold their breath for an extended period - I highly recommend reading fictional author Tony Grossi. Right now he's describing the relationship of Farmer and Pettine as the perfect sequel to "The War of the Roses."

Im no doctor, but he seemed to move around well after said injury....and although he was eventually "carted" away, he was up and walking and moving around for a bit first......the cart was just precautionary, Im sure.....

Billy is a pretty talented guy Flugs. He hasn't gotten mentioned much this offseason and I think people kind of put him on the back burner. Seems like that may have motivated him more to get his quickness back this season. Guy has gotten by on his athleticism but the light may have gone off on how to be a true pro with all the competition we now have on the dline. He also saw how Hughes got paid by being a pro and surely it resonated. Not calling you Shirley by the way.

Agreed. Billy has some fans in here. Well deserved IMO. Some of us see him in our plans for the future while others see him on the bubble.

As you know, Greco showed up at his lightest playing weight in what could have been his last hurrah in an otherwise dime a dozen ho-hum career prior to 2014. Something lit that fanny and we witnessed our best football to date from the guy. So much so, that it decreases the urgency for Erving to start immediately at RG in my opinion. It wouldn't suck for us or Erving if he could learn from a veteran we've invested a lot of time and training into to see what comes from hard work, dedication and being coachable. I don't think he'll take nearly as long as Greco so I'm only talking about a possible 1 year backup (redshirt) thing. That said, if he's already clearly better - that wouldn't suck either.

Great news...

The Browns received positive news on X-Rays of defensive lineman Billy Winn’s ankle and deemed the injury a sprain. He will be re-evaluated next week.

Just hope the Doc didn't say to Billy what one told me once upon a time:

"I have bad news... Your ankle did not break."

From yesterday... http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2015/8/4/9096469/cleveland-browns-training-camp-report-day-5

9. Injury Update: Head coach Mike Pettine confirmed that DL Billy Winn does not have a high ankle sprain, which is a good sign for his return.
