It will be east vs. west in late August at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Mentor has joined Lake Catholic as a participant in The Charity Game at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Aug. 28.

Cardinals athletic director Jeff Cassella confirmed Wednesday Mentor will play St. Edward at 3 p.m. in the first game of the doubleheader on the first Saturday of the high school football season. The Cougars will take on 10-time big-school state champion St. Ignatius, as announced earlier this year. Lake Catholic and St. Ignatius will play in the nightcap at 7 p.m.

Mentor played Glenville twice at Cleveland Browns Stadium during the 2006 season, a run that ended for the Cardinals in the Division I state championship game. Mentor defeated the Tarblooders in Week 1, 15-13, and again in a regional semifinal, 29-19.

"It should be fun, and a nice opportunity for the kids," Cassella said. "And we've had success at Browns Stadium before. Not many teams can say they are 2-0 there."

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the gate, and the tickets are good for both games.
