  1. We finally have been able to stop the run so far after years of ineptitude against the run. So instead of not being able to stop the run we substitute not being able to stop a Tight End ( Not that we did a good job of that before. We will need to put up 30 to stay in games.Plus if we are in a less than one score game late in the fourth we are in trouble.
  2. Personally I would trade a 3rd or 4th and a player for Trent Williams. Then I would trade up in the first round for Simmons if he happens to fall to #7 or lower. Probably not going to happen but Simmons could be a gamechanger.
  3. Denver favored -1- over Browns early line.
  4. Odell Beckham Jr. says hip prevents him from sprinting fullspeed, but confident the adrenalin will take over vs. Titans Updated 3:30 PM; Today 2:53 PM cleveland.com Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. gestures during practice. (Joshua Gunter, cleveland.com) 0 shares By Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com BEREA, Ohio -- It’s only fitting that Odell Beckham Jr.'s custom orange Rolls Royce, ‘Big Bertha,’ was delivered to him at the Browns facility Thursday. Because when describing the hip injury that continues to plague him, he used a car analogy. "It’s like an extremely fast car with the alignment off,'' he said. "The car can still go, but it’s dangerous.'' Beckham, who missed most of training camp and all four preseason games largely because of the hip, noted that it’s still bothering him, but that he’s hoping the adrenalin takes over on Sunday. "It’s something that prevents me from opening up and sprinting,'' he said in his podium press conference. He said he’s never dealt with something like this before and that he’s getting rehab on the hip every day. But asked if 90% of him is better than 100% of someone else, he smiled and said "I’m confident in me.'' He said he plans to ‘give it my best in each and every way’ during the game Sunday and FirstEnergy Stadium “and nothing will get in the way of that.” During joint practices with the Colts in Indiana in mid-August -- in which Beckham was idle with the hip -- he said he’d be ready for the Titans Sept. 8. That’s still the case, but he might not be operating on all cylinders. Sitting out team drills from about Aug. 7 to the end of training camp, Beckham doesn’t recall a specific moment when he hurt the hip. "I don’t know how it happened,'' he said. "I came in one day after practice and it was feeling weird.'' Despite the setback, Beckham’s best friend Jarvis Landry -- who’s dealing with a minor injury of his own -- still sees a three-time Pro Bowler on every rep. "He’s still probably the fastest in the room right now,'' Landry said. "He’s a competitor and he’ll be ready for Sunday.'' Beckham has practiced full-go all week and has not been listed on the injury report. Over the first five years of his career, he’s missed 21 regular season games, including the final four of last season with a torn quad muscle and 12 in 2017 with a broken ankle that required surgery. 5. Aaron Rodgers did the same thing. No big deal here
  6. PR nightmare. Maybe a draft pick from someone who needs a RB after preseason or after injuries?
  7. Saw the writeup in the Vindy. Deepest condolences.

  9. The reason the Browns got moved to Fox this week and last week is that the night game on NBC has flex scheduling. They picked up a 1PM game from Fox and moved it to the night game on NBC. This week they flexed the Eagles-Cowboys game to Sunday night. Fox then has the option to take a game from CBS to balance the schedule. They (Fox) chose the Browns the last two weeks.Good for out of town Browns fans. Also good for us in the Youngstown area. We get the Browns games always unless the Browns are at home and the Steelers are away. Then we get the Steelers game which would have happened this week.
  10. Johnny's Evaluation on NFL.com: Johnny Manziel, Cleveland Browns, No. 22 overall SEASON ANALYSIS DJ: He's played less than a quarter of regular-season football, but he's already generated plenty of excitement. Manziel can accurately throw while rolling to both sides, and he is a threat as a runner when the play breaks down. His field vision and ball placement are inconsistent. Season grade: Incomplete BB: Manziel hadn't seen much time on the field -- outside of an occasional gadget play -- before the Browns turned to him in the fourth quarter of Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills. The diminutive playmaker immediately sparked the offense with his energy, athleticism and improvisational skills, calmly connecting on a handful of play-action and movement-based passes before scoring on a sensational 10-yard run that showcased his speed and burst on the perimeter. Although he benefitted from a questionable call that overturned what would have been a strip-sack fumble, Manziel's poise and confidence stood out. Season grade: Incomplete AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT DJ: He needs to be more patient in the pocket and improve his vision down the field. BB: Manziel's NFL résumé is too short to provide much specificity here, but it goes without saying that he must learn to operate from the pocket and rely more on his arm than his legs to make plays on the perimeter. While his athleticism and improvisational skills will make him a nightmare to defend, it is hard to build a successful game plan solely around an off-the-cuff playground-style approach. If Manziel can keep his wild forays in check, he could take the Browns' offense to the next level. LONG-TERM PROSPECTS DJ: Manziel is the ultimate wild card. With the young talent around him at the offensive skill positions in Cleveland, I think he can be successful as the Browns' starter, provided he protects himself better when he runs the ball. BB: The NFL hasn't been kind to small, run-around quarterbacks, and it's hard to endorse Manziel as a long-term solution until he puts enough plays on tape. It'll be easy to get caught up in the spectacular moments he'll inevitably provide, but he must prove he can move the team from the pocket. If Brownscoach Mike Pettine makes Manziel the starter for the rest of the season, we should find out if his sandlot playing style can lead to success at this leve
  11. You have to start Manziel fro a number of reasons already listed in previous posts. But you have to be prepared for him to be average at best. He is going to make a ton of mistakes. He is a rookie and no rookie steps right in and looks like Brady. All the other rookie QBs drafted this year are having average years at best. There are growing pains coming. Johnny is no Marino or Luck who are exceptions to the rookie rule. Lets have the growing pains this year and find out somewhat if this kid can play. As evidenced Hoyer is a backup QB not a starter.
