The unreal person on here is woody. The whole "mountain of evidence" is

complete bs. There are thousands of scientists who are saying that mmgw has NOT BEEN PROVEN,

or, has not been proven to be any kind of crisis to act upon.

It's just woody being a liberal parrot of the left. It is what liberals do. They parrot

anti-status quo theories and they make up "facts" to support them.

We've proven that there are plenty of facts on both sides of the THEORY, meaning, it is

debateable, and as such, is NOT a basis for action, which action, btw, always has to do

with liberal agendas about other matters.

It is reasonable to enact a set of laws and moral standards for the advancement and overall betterment of society. It's called civilization. Taco

******************************

That's why we need laws against unlimited abortion, and unlimited power of

one branch of our gov over the other three.

And laws against the private ownership of guns so people can protect themselves and their

families.

YES ! As long as we conservatives are in charge of deciding what is moral, and what is for the advancement

and betterment of society....

There are already laws against the unlimited power of a single branch of the government, established at the onset of the creation of our Government. Maybe if the legislative branch actually accomplished their job of passing laws instead of futility attempting to veto a law passed years ago for the 973rd time, you wouldn't be so upset with the executive branch using the powers granted to it by the constitution to bypass Congress. If you want the executive branch to stop picking up the slack for the legislative, instead of railing against the executive and bitching in an online forum, bitch to your Representatives.

What's your problem with abortion? Doesn't it keep a bloated welfare system from becoming even more bloated? I didn't take you for pro-welfare type of guy.

Laws against the private ownership of guns?

I guess Woody has had an effect on you Cal.

keep in mind the I don't give a shit about abortion but please don't tell me you are so naive to think that all the single mothers in the hood are in bad condition because abortion isn't available... No matter what some people would like it to be in the Future at the present time it's free or cheap and readily available. The federal statute is anytime for any reason.

also despite the hand wringing of the left birth control is free or cheap and readily available.

And just for fun read what you said and admit the American citizens only option is to bitch. You just want them to bitch to someone else who doesn't care. ;)

I would imagine that people on either side of the aisle will be upset if the will of the people, if they share it in this particular situation, is overridden by Presidential Decree or a federal judge.

"IT IS IMMORAL TO INITIATE FORCE ON OTHERS TO SUPPORT YOUR BELIEFS. USING THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT MAKE IT OK,

YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO MY LABOR, MY PROPERTY, or MY SERVICES."

How is the big bad govt. doing this exactly? I'm sorry, I'm just not paranoid enough to think like you. Please walk me through this.

But again, you're completely free to move.

You also haven't explained yet how man made climate change is impossible...

That wasn't my point. The lack of abortion wouldn't be the only reason single women are forced to welfare. They are capable of doing that on their own.

My point is that welfare would be further burdened paying for children who's mothers haven't been able to take care of themselves or for single mothers and families barely scrapping by as is.

I agree on abortion in general though, I don't have a legitimate opinion of it doesn't really effect me, or at least hasn't yet. Keep you fingers crossed for me.

I just wanted to give Cal a little shit.

It's an annoyance sure. Anytime people are unwilling to do the job they are paid to do, I get annoyed.

For me personally, I have faith in our system that it will work itself out as it usually tends to do. The legislative will come to their senses, realize working on compromises and getting shit done will help their reelection chances much, much more.

The judicial branch has always maintained the ability to override the will of the people. The will of the people usually doesn't take into account the constitutionality of the proposed bill or law. If something is passed by the people and isn't challenged by the people afterwards, the judiciary will never see it.

This is the third thread in a row I've clicked on Today where Cal brings my name up and insults me even though I hadn't mentioned him...

... This is getting weird. You may have a problem.

He's just upset that you're turning him into a softy liberal.

I think if we really wanted to cut down on single motherhood and save welfare money every American should have DNA on file from birth. De baby daddy whether it's Leroy in the hood or Jake in the sticks should be forced to pay child support or cool their heels in the can.

I would say we can make room by releasing all those hundreds of thousands of people in jail for simple possession violation but as we all kno that's a myth.

The use of force is moral?

Law is an opinion with a gun.

Over all betterment of society? Is this how they justified american slavery in the 18th century?

Better for who? Those who use the government to force others? Is it better for the millions in prison right now? Or the men who were drafted into the Vietnam war? We could go on and on fairly easily.

These claims that govt is great makes Christians talking about Noah's arc sound reasonable.

He's just rambling on with his same speech and phrases...

What actual answer gave we gotten? It's bad for those I prison? Well no shit, but it is one hundred times better for everyone else (generally).

I still haven't heard about what freedoms YOU'RE losing. I think you've just been complaining about taxes. Plus like I've said, you are free to move to another country...so.... Not a slave.

Also, how is man made climate change impossible?

Actually you're not 'free' to move to another country. You could get a passport and go there on vacation. Actually moving there permanently is not easy unless you marry one of the nationals, then it would be easier. Or come to think of it, you could just overstay your visa and ask for a fast track to citizenship.

Right, because nobody ever moves country. There are no Americans living around the world at all.

there are also Russians Chechnyans, Iranians, Romanians etc who have been allowed to leave. So we are all free right?

When I hear anybody prattling on about freedom I always kind of wonder freer than whom?

Free to do exactly what that everybody, or most people, in the world can't do?

Freer, for example, than the foreign workers in Qatar, who are paid next to nothing and whose passport is held indefinitely by their employer. You're freer than men in Pakistan, who are forced by law to have beards. You're freer than muslims in CAR and Egypt who are being killed just for their religion. You're freer than christians in sudan who are being killed just for their religion. You're free to bang a dude if you want, and not be killed, unlike in Uganda.

But the Filipinos who chose to work there aren't forced to go there. They also work on Diego Garcia in camps to provide workers for the base. And what does having a beard in Pakistan have to do with living in another country? Your jumping off track (again).

1. I'm ba-a-a-ack. Was on vacation for six days. Went to S.E. Tenn. to stay at a

beautiful, "cabin" up in the mountains with friends in N.C. who are actually

more like family. They rented it as a six person cabin. It's actually a beautiful

round, twelve sided house, with three bedrooms, hardwood floors, panaramic

picture windows, full modern beautiful kitchen, tv, fireplace, wrap around deck.

Of course, we never turned on the TV once. Had an awesome time, and they

wanted us to travel with them back to their home and stay a few days. What a

memorable, awesome vacation ! Went horseback riding and white water rafting.

I'm going to write it up further, later.

2. I came back, eventually got online, and woody says this:

"Now I know I have said Cal isn't a real person before, and is just a character someone is playing.."

then he plays the victim by whining that I mention him, when he never mentioned me. Seriously? ha.

I just got back Tuesday afternoon.

3. I know I was just getting the "business"... @@, but I find, on principle, that wanton abortion

is hideous and inhuman, and those innocent lives must be protected. The question about rape,

etc, is a complicated matter, surely For me, I still stand on principle.

4. It's foolishness to keep insisting that MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING is not just a theory with

plenty of valid debate, and thousands of scientists disagreeing about the claims of "established fact"

as to a significant degree of mmgw, or if man affects it at all. That reeks of unfettered ulterior motives

to the rest of us who don't want all the leftist political trappings that keep coming with it.

And, with Obamao saying that our current world order doesn't work, and we need a new one...

how the heyl is it a stretch to figure that obamao has little use for our republic, our Constitution

and Bill of Rights? Our way of life? Our freedom and capitalist system?

5. Furthermore, getting a passport costs about a hundred bucks. It is, therefore, not free.

The six of us talked about going to Canada in a year or two. We have to have a passport

to go to Canada. That is stupid,

6. For about 12 seconds, I now know a tiny bit about rodeo. More on that later, on the Browns forum.

Steve asked "When I hear anybody prattling on about freedom I always kind of wonder freer than whom?" I responded with some examples you're freer than.

I'm not going off topic, you're not keeping up. Besides, this is a climate change thread...

Yeah?

Well at least we're better off economically than any of these third world shitholes as I like to call them.

Of course we didn't win our freedom from eating I mean did we? We won our freedom from King George.

So what freedoms do you not have? Apart from the things that are obviously illegal, murder, rape, theft etc., and none of the 'freedom to not have the gay/liberal/other agenda in my face all the time' line. Seriously now, what things would you like to do that you can't currently do?

I'd love to not work, and just travel the world - I'm not free to do that, but that's more as a result of economics than government interference.

Tx pointed it out well enough.

I would say the freedom to earn and keep your money would be a good starting point. The freedom to not be forced to give 30 40 50 60 70 to the government to do things but you probably don't want done. And that goes for each and everyone of us right or left.

The freedom to refuse service to someone you believe offends your morality. And that could go for either side as well. The freedom to actually practice your faith should you care to. The freedom to speak in a politically incorrect way.

And in honesty not very much of what I care to do is against the law.

Of course we are a rich country. Most people in rich countries don't really care how free they are. Poverty breeds revolution and like me, most of us don't care at the end of the day.

Ah so your preference would be anarchy. Lots of freedom, no rights. That makes complete sense considering mankind truly flourished during prehistoric times and all.
