The Gipper
Maybe the following are the schools that the Browns should draft players from this year. After all, they have in the past produced Hall of Fame Talent for the Browns in the past...so why not repeat success: Ohio State: 4 players Warfield/Groza/Willis/Lavelli Alabama: 1 Ozzie SC State: 1 Motley Illinois: 1 Bobby Mitchell Kansas: 1 MacCormack Morgan St.: 1 Kelly Ole Miss: 1 Hickerson Northwestern: 1 Otto Auburn: 1 Gatski Michigan: 1 Len Ford Mich. St.: 1 Joe Delamalleure Syracuse: 1 Jim Brown Miami, Oh: 1 Paul Brown Cup of coffee guy schools: Oklahoma: Tommy McDonald Virginia: Henry Jordan Purdue: Len Dawson Grambling: Willie Davis Tennessee: Doug Atkins So, who in this draft can we get from each of these schools that could be worth a shot? Off the top of my head: OSU: Hooker/Conley/Lattimore Bama: Foster, Allen, Howard Michigan: Peppers or Butt Tennessee: Barnett Oklahoma: Mixon Anyone else? The Gipper
Sound draft strategy. Probably better than what they have been using the last 18 years. Any strategy is better than no strategy. But, it seems that it HAS been a strategy by the Browns to completely avoid any Ohio State players, fair to say? (or is that still just a hangover from the Craig Powell and Brian Robiskie selections?)
