Bills

ahhh...but your coach wasn't.....we dont know the whole story, but I guess coaches and FO's should be on the same page.....and if your coach "stormed" out, then maybe he felt ignored and not part of what was happening, eh???.....and maybe he's the one that has to go out and win and thought the fo hurt their chances, eh?....

so, its not just us that thought that trade hurt the bills.....

Unless you walk away with FOOTBALL players, all of the first round picks in the world do the Browns NOTHING.

gilbert will be a football player. he'll probably have more to do with helping the browns win than watkins will helping the bills just because of the position he plays.

who drafts a wr in the top ten anymore without the other players already in place, especially QB?

oh, that's right.......bills and tampa bay do.

True, but you could make the same argument if the browns decided not to trade for an extra pick. The browns still need to draft well in the first round. The trade was and still is a no brainer though. 2 picks are better than 1.

Maybe, maybe not on Gilbert....but we'd make the trade......100%

Ya, I think we make the trade for sure.

If there was a re-draft though it might go like this:

Texans: Mack

Rams: (knowing Bradford was lost) Bortles or Bridgewater

Jaguars: Remaining QB

Browns:

So we got Watkins, Evans and Beckham on the board. buffalo doesn't offer the trade. Knowing what the future holds with Gordon, you grab one of these receivers. I'd take Beckham

--Manziel would go in the third round as a project for Chip Kelly or someone, Gilbert would still be a first rounder because of his talent ... but not #8

..

Funny how some of you guys have such passionate hate with an opinion towards that trade. If it makes you feel better about the Manziel and Gilbert failures, I can take it..

Funny...but this clearly a 2 way thing because we cant mention it without you hating on our picks....as if our picks change the fact that the bills overpaid.....which has been my only point all along...yet you insist that our bad picks justify your team squandering a pick

Re-do?, we take Evans and then take Garoppolo, but these numbskulls were sold on a guy who can't play.

And then you say Evans....which cements the whole thing....2 picks for the second best receiver?....third best receiver??

Really? Think about it..

You should have taken can't lose football players like Watkins, Evans, OBD, or whoever..but not Gilbert and another shot in the dark.

Too early to judge Gilbert or next years choice. I like the odds that our 2 picks will, in the end, do more for our team than sammy does for yours(or would have done for ours).....we can debate for the next 2-3 years, cause thats when we will know....

Really?

Would you trade Manziel and Gilbert for Sammy Watkins?

Probably although I still have hope for Gilbert. But you missed my point. Trading with buffalo for an extra 2015 first round pick was the right call. Drafting Gilbert and Manziel doesn't appear to be good right now but that has nothing to do with the trade..

Exactly my point....analogy time....

I have my hand on a car and am ready to buy it for $30k......then dude taps me on the arm and says Ill give you $60k for that car....

Now, what do I do???......I sell him the car for double and go looking for another....it's the ONLY smart choice...

Now, if I go and buy 2 lemons, then shame on me....but that doesn't eliminate the fact that I scammed on the first deal....

This statment judged from a fan in a city where first round successes never happens.

Come on guys..

Funny how some of you guys have such passionate hate with an opinion towards that trade. If it makes you feel better about the Manziel and Gilbert failures, I can take it..

The Gilbert thing was a shot that missed, but Manziel ends up being your Richardson trade of a third overall.

How about letting the careers pan out with a little time before you lash out at me.

Gilbert hasn't been a miss at all. Has he been what we expect out of a #8 overall? No. However, unlike Johnny, he's flashed ability to play at this level.

I'd say if just about every team had a do-over, they'd have different players.

I hope he does surprise me.

But the guy couldn't get on the field almost all year.

Guys undrafted were playing before him.

And NO team will give a starting WR for Johnny and Josh, let alone a rookie 4th overall pick

i'm 53 and love tool. saw them in asbury park with the melvins like 15 years ago.................uh, yeah........ guess i was a lot younger then.

now i watch reruns of lawrence welk......

I'm going to be 56 years old on Jan 8.

Tool, also huge on Alice in Chains, & Perfect Circle. Maybe a little Sound Garden, Korn, STP, older Godsmack, etc.

Getting lost in Tool is still the best. Too bad they make so little music.

Tool is over 20 years old...and sometimes I forget that, damn time goes by! So yeah you 50-somethings were only in your 30's. Being 40, I was fresh out of high school when I first heard them.

George, APC is good stuff too, simply put they are the same as Tool IMO, just less angry. Lol. Helps to fill the lack of Tool music.

As for draft picks/players: I see both sides, but I'm definitely on the side that trades down for two first round pics for my single first round pick. As far as what we do with those picks is neither here nor there on the trade itself. But even if we want to debate it, it's still too early to say what Gilbert or Watkins will do in year 2 and beyond. And we still need to see what pick #19 is and how that will pan out.

You're happy with the trade, so are we. Win/Win then IMO. I'm glad I don't have to root against the Bills over a draft pick number anymore. :)

Much like our football teams/fans....suffice it to say our music tastes are similar. And our opinions on Tool/APC are paralleled!

I was hoping Rex would leave the AFC, he's a tough out when he has any semblance of an offense.

For the time being, the Browns and Bills are a mirror image: Defensive head coaches from the same tree, good defensive talent ... no quarterback.

It'll be interesting to see which team gets one/ develops one first.

Manuel and Manziel have first at bats ... good luck with those two.

From my perspective, there is NO WAY Pettine goes into 15' with Manziel having first ups.. That will be career suicide for a good HC in Cleveland. No way.

I'm guessing you guys will have two new QBs next year. One in the draft, and another free agent.

I am also guessing Manuel will get a shot, but no way guaranteed a first up either.

The unknown is how much Marrone ruined Manuels game. Manuels game pre and post Cleveland game injury was a 180 degree change in his style of running to pure pocket. That was Marrone fucking with his game and putting him in a box.

Ya, I kinda meant they are sorta "incumbents" because Orton and Hoyer are gone. I think the Browns definitely draft a QB and bring in a free agent, Manziel not getting handed anything based on this past year.

Tour,

Maybe.. Maybe not.

Consider our defense situation is as good as it gets, adding Rex to Mario & Company? Getting Kiko back?

Fuck..

More importantly, signing Roman as OC along with Rex breaks open the free agent game for us. That was our biggest obstacle, as you guys can understand.

With the ability to attract talent, being able to have a popular coach to play for, and the possibility of regaining a first if the schwartz thing works out, I finally see some light at the end of this 15 year old tunnel.

It's definitely going to be an interesting 5 years in Buffalo.

hoping they are unlike the somewhat unsettled "5 yrs is the new 1-2 years " contracts here?

Ryan seems like a good fit in Buffalo. Whats weird is just yesterday I was reading how he would be bringing Trestman with him....yet today they are saying it's Roman....seems like a fast change....anyhow, not a personal fan of the whole Ryan clan and the weirdness that kind of follows them....but they do seem to know football.....so good luck with the new staff...

I'm guessing it will be an all out effort to get rid of Manziel while he might still has some interest. Someone out there may give up a decent draft choice, but I'm thinking he is as good as gone. The cancer he brings to a team like Cleveland outweighs any potential talent he may have. You can't win with a fucking douche bag as your leader..

I'm thinking that's what the team leaders are saying to management...

It might also explain the departure of Shanny.

From what I've heard, Shann didn't want Manziel to start so I'm sure that is part of the reason.
