Does she have all her original teeth?

Hahahahahah j/k

I can say this since im up north in East Liverpool. Too many damn steeler fans around here and Heroin addicts. We are famous for the kid in the car with the OD'D driver and passenger.

Speaking of Heroin addicts, we had 7 people die from heroin overdose this weekend in Cuyahoga county.

And here's wishing you a Wedgewood pizza kind of day!

Yes the very good and amazingly consistent WEDGEWOOD PIZZA and Youngstown area pizzas in general, so much better than in many other areas in the USA......and you know who you are!

*oh a big disclaimer to some great pizzas I've had in Chicago, like Giordano's on Rush back on my first business trip in 1982, excellent.

It's kinda funny how those places end up putting the chains outs business. Must be the sauce. Or the availability of all the fresh cheese and sausage.

Yes it's true a lot of "northern" sauces and tomato products, maybe the traditions or recipes themselves have that really good taste. I'm not sure over time if this has changed I did most of my real business travel years back.

And I don't want to hijack the roll call thread into a best pizza or Italian food thread -but- food and where are you from and where are you now are somewhat related. ......remember that old favorite restaurant or pizza joint? I do. ;)

(Oh just look at my interests!)

You guys are making me hungry.

Geeezzz I'm making myself hungry and my wife's making some scrambled egg dish for lunch....not exactly pizza or lasagne. (BTW she is an excellent cook, I am too.)

The Youngstown area has to have, per capita the best local pizza in the country. I live 5-10 minutes away from wedgewood, uptown, Gia's, Cocca's, Belleria as well as several I haven't even tried yet. 5 minutes further and I can hit up Elmton, V2, Avalon, MVR... add in all the chain places (including the regional pizza joes) and it's safe to say that Youngstown eats plenty of pie.

Wedgewood (no delivery!), Belleria, Elmton will keep you in pizza heaven for awhile. Plus even a lot of the ESPN announcing staff have hit the MVR down by YSU in ol' Smokey Hollow to enjoy some great Italian food and play some bocce, a totally hidden gem for many.

The whole Mahoning valley is peppered with some of the greatest Italian eateries anywhere. Jaks even has genuine Amish made pizza...very unique in most of the country. Had some Belleria Italian fries at lunch today. As far as pizza slut or pappy Juan's, yinzers like that crap

Anybody here born in Cleveland, raised in Cleveland, worked in Cleveland, retired in Cleveland, planning on staying in Cleveland? Just curious.

Kind of like the reverse in Spring break in 1969 and the early 1970s in Florida, I never met a native Floridian.

I lived (Shaker Square) and worked (CMHA on W. 25th) and went to law school (Cleveland-Marshall) in Cleveland for 3 years. Then moved back to Akron area. But now, where I sit is literally about 5 blocks from where I was born.

Ridgway, PA? I'm retired now but when I was in the steel joist and deck business back in the mid 1980s we had to deliver a really small load of joist for a job up in God's country up there in Ridgway.

A full sized semi with 40' trailer from our plant in Indiana to the site, our sales office was responsible for eastern Ohio, western, PA and northern WVA and we had to get the drivers in there and out. I believe it was for a small store addition and I distinctly remember the driver saying "you want me to go where with this". Oh yeah, small world.

Wow 5 blocks, I almost did that the week I got my Bachelors degree I bought a house 200' from my parents house, loved it out in the country big lake about 1/4 mile away and I could shoot my firearms there! When I got my MBA I decided to go upscale to the cul-de-sac bigger house -but- still surrounded by woods and only 4 miles from my office.

I do still miss the old neighborhood but don't tell my wife. ;)

There is an infamous hill going down into Ridgway, Route 219, called "Boot Jack Hill" that many a trucker lost his life on and was still in use in the 80's. The brakes would just give out on the hill, and down they'd come.

St. Leo's Catholic Church parking lot was at the bottom of the hill. When I was in elementary school, first or second grade, we were all in the church to attend mass, must have been a "Holy Day of Obligation", when normally we would all be in the parking lot playing for recess. We heard what sounded like a long sonic boom, and one of the priests rushed in to tell us that there was a terrible accident and to stay in the church. Trucker came down the hill and took out 44 cars and lost his life. Any other weekday that parking lot was filled with little kids.

Now they have a bypass from the top of the hill for truckers.

Beautiful country, lots hills and forest, more deer in our county than people, and one herd of Elk ... but too many Steeler fans for my taste.

I remember finding Ridgway on the map was just part of it we then had to get these guys to the job site which was scary at times. Sometimes you could almost see it but can't make a turn or back up or my big nightmare they'd drop to their axles in mud and I'd have to find bulldozers to pull them out.

I loved that job we also did skyscrapers in Pittsburgh, the Canton HOF expansion, you name it but these small town jobs were unique. I was the inside man that coordinated the salesmen, engineering, manufacturing, delivery and everything else including job site visits as necessary. Fun high pressure job.

Oh we owned all of our semis and trailers, our loss if they got trashed!

In my case, what I mean is that my office is only about 5 blocks from the hospital in which I was born (not the house where I grew up...that is about 6.5 miles from where I live.)
