We had better re-sign every one of them or we are fucking ourselves...

Gibson

Hoyer

Sheard

Cameron

Gordon

Skrine

I think we really have to see how the rest of the season plays out - especially for Hoyer and Cameron. Cameron may demand too much money to be worth it - and he hasn't been playing like he's worth it since the first half of last year. Hoyer - I suspect he'll be able to get more accurately ranked after the TNF game against the bungles.

Right now:

1.) Gipson - Had a great year last year, and is continuing to look better and better. We need to keep him, big time.

2.) Sheard - He'd be a big asset on most teams. If we don't keep him, I'd certainly like to see us get something for him.

3.) Gordon - Despite not playing, he's our best receiver by far.

4.) Skrine - Still fairly average. Has improved a lot, but still whiffs a bit. He's small, but fast. He's an acceptable nickel corner or a solid depth corner.

Too hard to rank Cameron and Hoyer at this point. Cameron's probably going to be looking for top 5-10 money - he needs to start playing like a top 5-10 TE.

Um...Gordon? By some distance?

Gibson - lots of picks, but most have come from other players making plays and him being in the right place; more a schematic thing? Still, would be happy retaining him.

Hoyer - we'll see...

Sheard - solid, but not spectacular. If we let him go and get a big time OLB from the draft like Mack this year I'd be happy.

Cameron - one good season does not an elite player make. Even in that season he tailed off massively after Hoyer got injured. Needs to pick it up this year.

Gordon - needs to stay on the field for him to get any decent sized contract. I'd like to get him signed to a contract this offseason, in anticipation of him having a big 2015, the guy is just too talented to be kept down. After all, he got all those yards from Hoyer, Flippy weeden and Check-down Charlie Campbell. How many 8-yard crossing routes did he take fro 20+ yards?

Skrine - solid. Hopefully Gilbert develops in to a solid outside corner, so Skrine doesn't have to cover 6'5" receivers and can go to the slot, with K'Waun Williams.

Gibson....spell it right.

Hoyer.....can we truly say yet that he is a cut above the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick/Matt Schaub/Ponder and the like?

Sheard....not irreplaceable

Cameron....Pro Bowl caliber

Gordon....how can he not re-sign here?

Skrine....dime a dozen?

Gipson - agree

Hoyer - Ponder is THE worst QB in the NFL. Also, Hoyer doesn't turn the ball over at the same rate Fitz does

Sheard - I'd like to keep him but his production at a stand up role is limited

Cameron - Depends on asking price

Gordon - Same

Skrine - Yes. His development over the past 18 months has been good. He may be up and down on occasion but he's an OK #2 and a solid #3 CB.

Gipson - Very solid for 2 years now, so he's #1 on my list

Skrine - #2 He's not all pro, but is a solid starter in one of our weakest areas. We need him and depth.

Sheard - #3 Another unspectacular but solid player. I think he was better at DE, but his versatility and consistent play make me want to keep him.

Hoyer - #4 My verdict is still out on him. I like that he wins, but dont see him as a "franchise type QB". Id sign him to average dollars, but wouldn't go anywhere near "top ten" type $

Cameron - Eh. Has good hands and has "a" good season under his belt, but not the star I wish he was. Kinda one dimensional and a little soft, if you ask me. Id sign him too, but like Hoyer, wouldn't give him top dollars based upon one good season

Gordon - Mfer better shut up and just sign. He owes the Browns for standing behind him and all his BS problems.

Right now...

1. Cameron - Despite the decrease in the numbers, Jordan is a weapon that opposing D's need to game plan for. He needs to stay on this team.

2. Gipson - Starting safety, playing great. I wouldn't want to have to replace him.

3. Hoyer - He's ranked third, but he could be first. It'll depend how he recovers from the stinker in JAX. This IS our starting QB, so keeping him around is important.

4. TIE - Rubin and Sheard - We have to sign one or the other, at least. It's hard to replace a pass-rusher and a D-Lineman. If I have to lean one way, I keep Sheard.

5. Skrine - Can't have enough depth in the DB room. We drafted, groomed, booed, and cheered for this guy. I'd like to see him stay around.

Gordon won't be a FA, but we'll re-sign him next year if he can get back on the field this year and perform, and if he can get through the off-season without getting into trouble.

Point taken of Gordon... but I'd lock him up ASAP while there's some measure of gratitude for standing by him. He is the only elite player on that list. There are other good players, other very good players, but only one elite player.

I'd put Gipson at the top of the very good list. You have to keep your middle intact when you have a good one... and he's a very good one.

Cameron - I could care less if we sign him or not.. he's not dependable enough.

Hoyer - Until he fails completely,or something better comes along.. You keep him at all cost.

Skrine - the only sure DB we have besides Haden. Sign him!.

Gipson - You just cant over state the premium on his ball hawking skills. Sign him also.

Gordon - He owes the team for sticking with him.. The rest of the list.. I couldn't care less what happens.

Cameron had 200 yards in the 2 games without JG last year, 700 in 14 games with him. So I'm not 100% sold on "he'll be great when Gordon's back" line of thinking.

Me either. Plus he had about 1/2 of his yards/catches in the first 5 games. Then was fairly average the rest of the way. And this year he isn't exactly slaying it. Good, yes. Great, no. As I said before, I think he's a good receiver, but not the complete package for tight end. And Im not bashing him, just saying that he isn't the perennial pro bowl type player that some have suggested.

This is a very fair post and what i've felt all along with the guy. Solid player, fits a similar mold to a Dennis Pitta, Owen Daniels (prime years) type of guy. Solid, worth a reasonable contract.

We need to keep the talent on this team and build chemistry and consistency, you don't win by gutting the team every 12 months. We need to keep the guys we have, who CAN play and build around them until we have a solid backup ready to take the reigns.

I agree.

We do need to discuss the definition of play, however.

For example, Cameron is NOWHERE near a top5 TE. They should let him walk if he actually thinks he deserves that much. He deserves Greg Olsen money: 5 yrs/23m.

Thomas? Mack? Bitonio? Next yr's first round OL? Pay them whatever, because they're worth it.
