Loserville, thats creative. I can only assume you'll follow any retort on his part by calling him a butthead or a meanie face.

As typical of a Browns fan, you are incorrect.

Look to your own Gipper, the POS that makes jokes about the 911 attacks, as the originator of "loserville". I just reintroduced his own ignorance back to him.

Not one of you on this board have ever proven the ability to talk football without making a fool of yourself, you all always have to go off the reservation because you're being embarrassed when trying to talk football. You have a fool like Gipper who thinks a fluke playoff loss when the Steelers were loaded with injuries is a major disappointment for the franchise - it's nothing compared to 1994, 1995, 1997, 2001, 2010.

And you all lack the ability to see 5 minutes in front of you. The loss last year was a blessing in disguise. It led to the removal of Arians, the drafting of talented OL prospects and the directive from ownership and coaching to make an effort to protect Ben - so he isn't exposed to as many injuries. You all celebrated his injury last year, but completely miss that it likely added 3 more years to his career.

You consider my comment "going off the reservation?" You've got some thin skin for a steeler fan on a Browns board.

That's because you're so stupid, you don't know the difference between being able to handle a loss and being able to handle losing.

My world didn't fall apart because the Steelers lost a playoff game against an inferior team. But your inability to comprehend that mentality is what makes you who you are.

Welcome to loserville - that is where you have been born and raised.

Perhaps, but I got out. You will die there.

Again, fool. The fact that you have experienced winning titles, as I said, makes the Tebow sticking one up your ass a bit more tolerable.

The other thing that perhaps makes you take it easier is the fact that you arrogant enough to THINK that your team will be back there again and win again. When that doesn't happen in the next 20 years, you will look back and realize that Tebow shoving your football up your collective asses was the death knell of any so called Steeler dynasty.

I didn't make jokes about 9-11. I made jokes about YOU. And I compared people from NEOhio who root for the Steelers to Americans who root for Al-Qaeda. They are traitors/quislings.

It may be at a whole different level...but the character flaw is still the same.

When YOU make your first intelligent football comment...many of here will be glad to participate in that conversation. We are still waiting. Saying something like "a fluke playoff loss when the Steelers were loaded with injuries....is evidence of your own lack of football intellect...and integrity. To your arrogant, ignorant mind every Steeler loss is a fluke....for which you will make excuses for. Here is the real story: The Broncos were the better team. Period"

Here is where your arrogance gets in your way. You automatically assume the change in coaching will be for the better.

Maybe yes, maybe no. It is like Homotron who thinks that when Dick LeBeau retires that the defense will not miss a beat. I say that it is rare that you replace Hall of Fame talent (and I am talking about his coaching ability, not his playing ability) with Hall of Fame talent. It took the Steelers almost 25 years to replace Terry Bradshaw with BR. You would think that your defensive coordinator in waiting is like having Steve Young waiting in the wings when Joe Montana leaves. That sort of thing has happened exactly once in NFL history.

San Diego is the only city in the US with a team in one of the "Big 4" major league sports (football, baseball, basketball, hockey) that has gone longer without a title than Cleveland. You can use that on her. San Diego's last title was the Charger's 1963 AFL title team. The only other cities that have gone longer are two Canadian cities: Vancouver since 1915 and Ottawa since 1927...and those cities ONLY have hockey teams. Vancouver should have won it last year but blew a 3-2 game lead in the Stanley Cup finals.

Vancouver won the Stanley Cup not so long ago and the Bowns did win the NFL championship,,,,,,,,,,,,work harder to gather the facts or please explain the message above,,,,,,,,,thanks for all you do

A team from Vancouver has not won the Stanley Cup since the Vancouver Millionaires won it in 1915. Not sure where you are getting other information. Perhaps you are thinking of either Calgary..1988 or Edmonton...1990.

The Canucks, as mentioned, had a 3-2 game lead last year, but blew it.

And, yes, the Browns last won in 1964, last Cleveland title...one more year sooner than San Diego's last title.

FYI, a team that has been around for 45 years is on the verge of winning the Stanley Cup this year: the LA Kings who

first came into the league in 1967.

This will be somewhat on the magnitude of the New Orleans Saints winning their first Super Bowl....except for the fact that in LA they were used to seeing the Lakers win numerous time, plus they have had the Dodgers/Angels/Ducks/Raiders all win titles in the interim, so it is ho-hum to that bunch of spoiled schmucks.

Only the following teams have been around longer than the Kings and have gone longer than them to wait for a title:

Atlanta Falcons

Buffalo Bills

Cleveland Browns

San Diego Chargers

Houston Astros

Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans

Minnesota Vikings

Texas Rangers (1 pitch short last year)

Philadelphia Eagles

Atlanta/St. Louis Hawks

Detroit Lions

Sacramento/Kansas City/Cincinnati/Rochester Royals/Kings

Cleveland Indians

Arizona/St. Louis/Chicago Cardinals

Chicago Cubs

Also, the St. Louis Blues, Denver Nuggets and Toronto Maple Leafs have waited as long as the LA Kings.

In another sense, life can seem unfair. It is possible that Oklahoma City will enjoy a Championship...if the Thunder win...in only the 5th year of that city having a Major League sports franchise, given that Vancouver since 1915, Ottawa since 1927, San Diego since 1963, Cleveland since 1964, Buffalo since 1965, Salt Lake since 1971, Milwaukee since 1971, Portland since 1977, Seattle since 1979, Winnipeg since 1979, Sacremento since 1985 etc. have all waited much much longer for their teams to bring home a title. (Milwaukee is perhaps an exception because they consider the Green Bay Packers their team).

Also, I believe many if not most people believe the Thunder to be a completely new franchise...and NOT the same franchise as the Seattle Supersonics. The Supersonics franchise is supposed to still be in existance... held "in trust" the same way the Browns once were during their three years of inactivity....the difference is that their is no immediate promise to reactivate the Sonics the way there was the Browns.

#also note that Vancouver and Ottawa and Winnipeg did not have teams for lengthy periods so their years of waiting for a title were elongated by that fact....Not so with Cleveland/San Diego/Buffalo etc. who have continuously had a team.

Please, you don't even have the brains to understand the wisdom of what I am saying.

In your world, does everyone succeed every time they attempt something? No - because that is not real life. Anyone who succeeds also fails at times - it's how you react to those failures that makes the difference. I am not even going to bother with explaining the rest to you because in your world, you really just don't get it.

As far as why the Steelers will continue to win - you guys are like the boy who cried wolf when it comes to how the Steelers are in decline and the Browns are rising. Prior to 2010, that's all Tony Grossi could sputter out: Rooney is gone, Roethlisberger was nearly traded and is one mistake from being gone, Holmes is gone. Steelers are old and in trouble. All they did was win the AFC in 2010.

Here is why the Steelers will continue to win:

The Rooney's: Art Rooney II is the Steelers President and has run the team for the last decade, the way Dan did prior. Dan Rooney is able to, as Chairman of the Board/Owner - have more of a personal relationship with the players, like the Chief did. When Noll retired, it began the current approach: President, Director of Football Operations, Head Coach: which originally was Dan, Tom Donahoe, Bill Cowher. Currently, that is Art, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin - with Colbert in the official role of GM. The only time the Steelers have struggled was when the feud between Cowher and Donahoe was no longer reconcilable (1998-1999). Dan made a then controversial decision about keeping Cowher over Donahoe, but it turned out to be the right one - as Kevin Colbert is a phenomenal GM. Mike Tomlin's hiring was a surprise - if he went to just about any other team it would have not worked out as well so quickly. Tomlin still is learning and was very inexperienced, but surrounded by an established structure, he was able to succeed by not having to concentrate on responsibilities outside his areas of expertise. This stability is the secret to the Steelers success.

Why the Steelers defense is always so good:

Since the Steelers began the zone-blitz scheme out of their existing 3-4 in 1992, they have finished in the top ten 17 out of 20 years - their lowest ranking was 13th in 1992 and have been in the top ten every year since 2000 (the other two were the 98-99 seasons during the Cowher/Donahoe feud. Although Dom Capers was Bill Cowher's original Defensive Coordinator, it was Dick LeBeau who provided the defensive scheme. And even when Dick LeBeau left for a time, they still incorporated the same strategy and have been drafting players to fit it, sometimes taking several years to develop them. Some have been huge failures while others have been enormous success. Take James Harrison for example - while Browns fans accuse him of taking HGH for his seemingly overnight success, there was nothing overnight about it. Harrison always had the athletic ability, what he didn't have was the understanding of the complexity of an NFL defense. He wasn't going to take the spot of Joey Porter - but over 2004-2006, he learned a lot about how to play. When he finally got his chance in 2007, he made the Pro Bowl then in 08 was Defensive MVP. This same patience has seen Brett Kiesel, Chris Hoke, Ike Taylor, James Farrior, Larry Foote, Chris Hope, Ryan Clark all become key components of the best defense of the decade.

Because they don't try to reboot every 4 years, the Steelers coaches can take the time to develop players - which is why every time Browns fans start to rejoice about "player X" leaving, "player Y" steps up and performs. It's not accident or coincidence when a James Harrison steps in for a Joey Porter and succeeds. In 2012, Lawrence Timmons (who played all 4 LB spots in 2011 to cover for injuries) will be the featured ILB the way Farrior was all decade, DE Ziggy Hood will anchor the line and CB Keenan Lewis will move from Nickel Back to starting CB. In the same way - OLB Jason Worilds, DE Cameron Heyward, CB Cortez Allen and CB Curtis Brown will begin their phase in process and playing in the rotation.

Why are the Steelers drafts always successful:

The Steelers do not rely on one person to make their selections - it's a group effort with Colbert leading the way at GM. Prior to Colbert, the Steelers never traded up in the 1st round, but he did so twice: acquiring Polamalu and Holmes. Both worked out pretty good. He's done it in the later rounds as well, some have worked, others haven't - but its always a draft for the best player. There is luck involved - getting Ben at #11 in 2004 was rare, but 2007 the sites were on Darrelle Revis and the Jets jumped in with a trade ahead of them to take him. But the Steelers have a system that is tried and true and has been successful.

Offensively - Last year after the injuries to Roethlisberger, Mendenhall and Pouncey, the Cleveland airwaves were celebrating like you just won the game. The truth is, those injuries may very well have cost the Steelers the Super Bowl. Fully healthy, they were better than any team in the AFC. But the injury, particularly the one to Ben, was impossible to overcome - and it was noticed.

  •
  • ARII Noticed - Art Rooney II recognized the difference between a healthy Ben and not. If Ben doesn't adjust his game, he'll be Steve McNair, if he does - he'll be John Elway - Rooney is making sure its the later.
  • Arians out: Arians was a horrible O.C., even with 2 AFC Championships. The 2008 Steelers had the 2nd worst offensive ranking of any Super Bowl team ever - even the 2000 Ravens, 1982 Dolphins and 2006 Bears finished higher - which considering the talent was inexcusable. Arians was very predictable with his play calling and the most success came when they ran the no-huddle (something Todd Haley has already noticed)
  • Haley in: He resurrected the career of Kurt Warner and made a Pro Bowl QB out of Matt Cassell. His offenses have led the NFL in rushing and passing depending on the personnel. He's abrasive and there will be drama - but there's a Head Coach in Tomlin there to work with friction and Roethlisberger could use the disciplined coach.
  • Offensive Line: Pouncey is All-Pro, a pair of #2 picks at OT in Marcus Gilbert and Mike Adams and #1 pick David DeCastro at Guard - on talent alone this unit is better than any the Steelers have had since 2005.

There is the reality - their biggest issue will be working out contracts with Wallace, Brown, Sanders and Mendenhall. The Denver game - why its not a big deal is the same reason that other fluke playoff losses aren't:

1987 49ers to Vikings

1996 Broncos to Jaguars

2008 Colts to Chargers

2010 Saints to Seahawks

2010 Patriots to Jets

Each of those games were major upsets, with the Colts and Saints in particular playing teams on the road despite significantly better records. Heck, the Seahawks were 7-9. They happen - you learn from it and improve.

In 1977, the Steelers lost to the Broncos in a playoff loss that many said was the end of that Steelers team. How'd that work out?

You just got a very rational and detailed explanation of what makes the Steelers successful. I doubt you'll understand it, because in your world, nobody fails ever, Akron is the same place as Cleveland, NFL Championships in 1922 are the same as the Super Bowl, the Cleveland Rams are a team that you take pride in and consider part of your own championship heritage.

In short, you're a fool. But you're the fool I get to make fun of
