Tour2ma
Apparently SB Nation had this 12 hours ago... http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2016/9/3/12752830/cleveland-browns-justin-gilbert-trade-steelers The compensation for the Browns hasn’t yet been released, but given the likelihood that Gilbert was too be released, it’s likely minimal and the Steelers are just taking a cheap shot at a player who was once a highly regarded draft prospect. Going to guess we just replaced our 2016 7th round pick... maybe with a conditional one... and that Gilbert was on PTG's 2014 board as well. hoorta
Reports say we get a 6th round pick in 2018. It's better than nothing So with the trade, that means his salary goes with him, right? Looking at Sportrac, the Steelers are only on the hook for $1.5 million- more than a sixth round pick would get, but not a lot.
Zombo
I thought he was going to start? I was worried he might too. Figured they might dump Tramon. This is a good sign that they aren't wasting their time on Gilbert. Z
hx214
For a 6th rounder, I might have just made him the return man and saved Coleman

stillmotion
It's in the past, let's look towards the future. how many chances did we give gilbert and manziel? and there's no F$%^ing way Ray Farmer should be giving NFL commentary or his opinion EVER
miktoxic
instant pro bowler. well i guess the browns will just suit up the east cleveland boy's choir and march them out there on sundays. prob more talent there than in the browns locker room. i know gilbert sucked and was on the verge of getting cut but these guys are a fucking joke. 2 years from now you all will be calling this a bigger fiasco than what holmgren did. and i'll be shaking my head like i did then without having to say i told you so. again. All of these kids that are having to step in and play right now will be better because of it. While it may be frustrating now, hopefully they get better week by week and then we'll be better because of them. Gilbert was never going to be on this team in the future and they got a lil' something for him, plus his young replacement (that will be on the team in the future) will get live action experience. I like it.

miktoxic
there's no proof from anyone's record (football) in the FO that any of this will work. football is a different sport than baseball. you don't build by analytics or worrying about the purse string. you actually need first round talent on both sides of the ball. hope you got another decade and 3 more regimes to see this team recoup anything that'll look like that. me, my days are #'d and i'm tired of it. btw, those young players will be replaced next year because of some calculation.
