Observations from today's game.

Yeah the pass on Watkins looks terrible. There wasn't much downside to taking Watkins at 6 either.

Use him like Denver uses Miller..move him all over the LB'ing spots. Miller sometimes lines up like an ILB and blitzes, it makes him impossible to keep tabs on. Dude has what, 7 sacks in 6 games? Tha'ts more than our OLB'ers combines and might almost be as much as our entire LB'ing corp. Whatever it is we're doing, Mingo is definitely not being put in the impact positions that he should be.

Watkins was not there at 6... ;)

Do really think the only difference between Mingo and Miller is how they are used?

well the whole point of the 3-4 is to have your OLB'ers standing most of the time which is supposed to help them run defend better. It's not our OLB'ers that are the problem, so I don't see what switching to a 4-3 is going to do for us on run D. Hell it might make it even worse if that's possible.

We have two, stand-up, 3-4 LBs that were pretty good, 4-3 DE's, Kruger and Sheard. Put them outside of our two best interior linemen available and you have a pretty good, 3-down D-line. Back that with Dansby flanked by Kirksey and Robertson and you have a pretty good set of 3-down, 4-3 LBs.

Then you have Mingo for situational pass rushing as a DE and can do a little zone blitzing with him as well.

Is the 4-3 a better way to go? Dunno now that the official D is playing better, but a couple weeks ago it sure looked to me like it was.

The blueprint is out. Do everything you can to stop the run and make Hoyer beat you with his arm.

Is there a team in the NFL for which there is not a Defensive blueprint? They all have at least one loss, so there must be.

We've been in situations this year where there was no chance of us running the ball, so teams only had to worry about the pass. And Hoyer beat them.

Man, it just seems like we reversed the entire vibe from last week fans cheering, holding Hoya signs - to cheering injury material for next week.

Disappointing losses tend to dent enthusiasm, but point taken.

On the come backs... part of the credit Shanny was getting for them was that we did not completely abandon the run despite some large deficits.

And that meant the PAP plays remained effective... etc...
