Adrian Peterson suspended by VIkings

Business world Corps put employees on leave all the time... or not... So much depends upon the individual transgression and the citizen factors that poor smuck of a Vikes GM tried to use to justify their decision.

The difference is that the business world's is generally not in the spotlight... not in the headlines... and not subject to sponsor review.

We are watching a HoF lock turn into a HoF maybe.

Had not crossed my mind yet...

Does anybody know exactly what Peterson disciplined his child for? I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but there are "certain" circumstances where disciplining a child like that might be called for. I know the kid is 4 but if I had a child and caught him torturing an animal...ie practicing to be a future sociopath....than I'd spank the shit out of my kid too. Especially if it wasn't the first time. I might give the kid a pass the first time but take him to a specialist. If it was the 2nd time or more he'd get spanked. Yes with my bare hand, but I promise I would leave welts with my bare hand that equal what I saw in those pictures. A child abuser is someone who, imo, beats their child for little to no good reason. Someone who takes out their life frustrations on their child. They are usually drunks as well. If it came out there was a systemic pattern of abuse exhibited by Peterson than that's another story.

There are other examples one can come up with beside the animal thing too...like what if Petersons kid had an absolute fetish for running out into the street? Like constantly, such as dogs sometimes do and you can't break them of the habit. Yeah you can leash a dog but what would we all be saying if someone took a picture of Petersons kid leashed up in the front yard? This is all conjecture I get it, I'm just not ready to throw Peterson away like Rice cause in my mind "right now"..they're two completely different events. Peterson spit on his wife outside of the elevator, why she gave him a slap....and then spit on her again inside the elevator, than jacked her up as she came after him. This is a man disciplining his child and at least from I know, didn't do any kind of lasting damage which to me is a hallmark of an abuser. Welts may look bad but they go away quick enough, especially on the upper thighs and buttocks. I bet a lot of you in exasperation would whoop your kid like that if every chance he gets he goes flying out into the street. We just don't know right now what the incident was about, it's a child services investigation and until they say something I think the media should stfu about it.

the 4 year old supposedly pushed his sibling out of the way to play a video game....does that qualify for felony injury....you don't beat a child like that to teach him to take turns.....his guy is sick...he beat another child (he still has the scar over his eye) for calling his sibling a name.....we are only beginning to see all the abuse this bastard levied on his children....i hope texas finds this asshole guilty and he serves time....though, even if they do find him guilty, he probably won't serve time...though he should....the fact that peterson's dad abused him as a child is no excuse......

I am not sure if you all recall, but AP had another child that died as a result of the abuse administered by one of his baby mama's new boyfriends. (sorry, but who can keep track of all the kids some of these guys have with different women).

He has a child killed as a result of abuse, and he does this....and he thinks the abuse he administered was not unacceptable? I think AP has severe psychological issues of his own. Apparently his issues are so bad that they also hinder him from being smart enough to use a condom....or to just have his women give him blow jobs rather than having intercourse and having all these kids by different women running around.

It looks like AP may have (had) 7 children by different women, including the one that was killed.

The money is beginning to talk.

Radisson hotels to the Vikes...

Budweiser to every team and the NFL.

Don't let anyone lie to you all, THIS my friends is why it happened. The Vikings had a solid case for letting him play as the legal process played out. I guarantee the powers that be strongly suggested the implications if they lost sponsors over this fiasco, aka money. I'm not saying the guy doesn't deserve it but this is reason more than anything else.

ok yeah that doesn't warrant a switching let alone even much of a spanking unless the kid injured the other child as a result of the push. Even then it's a spanking and no video games and sent to his room. So he does have a history of unwarranted beatings...ok well that settles that.

This is the way the nfl works. They don't give 3 shits what you me or any other fan thinks. Take away some $ or have their name smeared all over the front page for a week, then they may do something.

These athletes act like they are untouchable anymore. If they do dumb shit bench them. The teams need to realize that these players are not bigger than the game itself.

See if he gets dumped by the Vikings and picked up by the cowboys. It would make a ton of financial sense for the vikes. If they unload him the cap hit for the future is peanuts.

AP is too good of a player to not get the redemption opportunity even at his age, that's for sure. I could easily see that type of scenario coming to pass in the off-season, the vikes got AP for his prime years and a contender will get a good 1-2 years out of him. (think LT minus the abuse of course). It's as much of a "win-win" as there can be for the situation.

Don't forget about the P.R. side of it. The fine details of the situation aren't out yet and the vikes have already benched him.

He's been there for what.. 7-8 years...? And they still haven't won anything with him.. plus the fact he has porcelain legs.. Makes him VERY expendable.. say bye bye,AP!

True but an RB can only do so much. Let's not forget a few years ago they went to the playoffs basically on his legs. He's not the reason they've been bad that's for sure.
