Don't know how many of you own a Keurig coffee maker.

I really like the convenience even though I realize It's way too expensive per cup compared to making a pot of coffee. Still cost be dammed I found a brand of coffee pods that are pretty dam tasty at a reasonable price. Well reasonable for Keurig.

Mostly I would drink Newman's on bland available at Sam's club but I took a chance at Maud's who advertises on Facebook. Ordered 100 Kona blend podge for 39 bucks free shipping.

Nice bold flavor setting it above Maxwell house or Folgers and not quite as harsh as Starbucks French roast.

Another good quality product for those of you who use an electric toothbrush. I would always purchase a Colgate or crest or a store brand for ballpark of 5 or 6 bucks but they took to Double-A batteries I didn't last very long. Not only did the batteries run down quickly but the brushes themselves disintegrated in a short time.

Oral B cost a few dollars more but not only does it take a single Double-A battery but that battery lasts at-least 3 times as long as the cheaper brands. And the brush itself stays firm a lot longer.

And for anyone who wears boat shoes or loafers without socks in the summertime but are concerned by the inevitable rotting and stinking of the feet and shoes try a pair of Gekks.

Significantly more expensive than a pair of socks but once they are installed in the shoe they seem to last almost forever.

It's kind of a no show sock that attaches to the inside of the shoe with Velcro Attached to the inside and on the sock itself. They are made with some type of a silver infused thread that kill bacteria and keep the smell away. I've had a pair of good quality boat shoes for over 2 years-and still smell like a Brand-new pair of shoes.

This new version with the Velcro attachment is much more stable than the original version with silicon gel adhesive.

Kona coffee is definitely the best.

"Real" Kona from the Islands is great and expensive.

An extremely hard to find. Most of it is a blend of some kind.

Many Konas have 0% real island Kona and are knockoff coffees from South America.

I'm glad I never liked coffee. Taste like someone burned a stick and poured it into a glass of hot water.

I have been there and have bought it there, and bought some from there.

To me it is fairly bitter and not my personal cup of tea.....or should I say coffee.

Kona and a few other beans and some blends can be acquired tastes for many people.

We have to drink decaffeinated coffee due to my wife's tachycardia with caffeine but that really doesn't affect the taste that much. We generally buy coffee wire arabica beans in them, I also like Columbian blends I used to get from my cigar dealer.

On sale are always a good brand also. ;)

fairly bitter???

We were there two weeks, I drank it every day, and I hate bitter coffee. Pure Kona coffee is not bitter -

it's outstanding and non-bitter. Surely you didn't get the real stuff.....

another great coffee is Blue Mountain from Jamaica. Also not cheap. I bought some

for a friend who had friends there - but she warned us to never go off the official

approved tourist sites, and never get into any taxi that wasn't owned by the gov.

and... never go off on your own, you could get killed, especially if you ended up

in Blue Mountain coffee groves, lost. They'd figure you were stealing coffee and...

pretty much makes me not buy it if I ever found it. But that was a long bunch of years ago.

I got it in Kona, Hawaii from a coffee farm there. How much more real than that can you get?

Perhaps you like "civet coffee", eh?

FYI for you all...it is made from coffee beans that have been defated by monkeys.

Not to be confused with.....

Kona coffee is the market name for coffee (Coffea arabica) cultivated on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa in the North and South Kona Districts of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. Only coffee from the Kona Districts can be described as "Kona". The weather of sunny mornings, cloud or rain in the afternoon, little wind, and mild nights combined with porous, mineral-rich volcanic soil create favorable coffee growing conditions. The loanword for coffee in the Hawaiian language is kope, pronounced [ˈkope].

Because of the rarity and price of Kona coffee, some retailers sell "Kona Blends". These are not a combination of different Kona coffees, but a blend of Kona and Colombian, Brazilian, or other foreign coffees. Usually they contain only the minimum required 10% Kona coffee and 90% cheaper imported beans.

Current Hawaiian law requires blends to state only the percentage of Kona coffee on the label but not any other coffee origins. There is no matching Federal law. Some retailers use terms such as 'Kona Roast' or 'Kona Style'. To be considered authentic Kona coffee, the state of Hawaii's labeling laws require the prominent display of the words "100% Kona Coffee".....

Prices vary wildly depending on where you buy it.

I bought mine in Kona, Hawaii from a coffee farm located on the slopes of Mauna Loa.

Counterfeit coffees are a huge business all over the world including growing areas, I remember years back when they busted sellers some distributing 100% Columbian coffee that wasn't 100% or near that at all.

Coach purses and Colombian coffee what's this world coming to? Truth is some counterfeits are pretty good largely due to our Chinese friends.

I grind coffee and make a french press every morning, but I have a keurig too and use it if I have people over or if I want more than the initial french press later on in the day.

I like kona, but too expensive to be my daily grind.

I usually go for a decent bean on amazon, lately I've been buying the raven's brew stuff (deadman's reach) but I'm not too crazy about it, the koffee kult and some others are good for daily grinds too.

In the grocery store there's some decent stuff for decent value - green mountain, eight o clock, etc.

Not a fan of most starbucks coffee, but some of their seasonal ones I buy when they're available (Casi Cielo, mostly)
